SCHEDULE Winter Slam is a two-day competition taking place at GL1 Leisure Centre in Gloucester on Saturday 6 th and Sunday 7 th February. 96 teams are taking part, each comprising three athletes. Five of the six WODs take place in the Main Hall, with one in the Pool. SATURDAY Event Where Notes Registration Foyer, GL1 All teams must hand in a fully completed waiver at registration. These will be ed to team captains a week prior to event Team captains briefing WOD Team captains briefing Main Hall Main Hall Head Judge Stephen Oakham will run through movement standards for day one. WOD 2 Pool All athletes must wear swimming costumes. Goggles are recommended. No buoyancy aids! NB the WOD is structured so that it is up to each team how many athletes need to swim, though it is suggested at least two are prepared to get in the pool. WOD 3 Main Hall Main Hall Head Judge Stephen Oakham will run through movement standards for day two. SUNDAY Event Where Notes WOD 4 Main Hall WOD 5 Main Hall WOD 6 Main Hall Teams re-ranked for final WOD, competing in reverse order Presentation & Close Main Hall

4 2. REGISTRATION TEAM CAPTAINS Team Captains should report to the Registration Desk from on Saturday morning at GL1 to collect their Team s athlete wristbands. Athletes cannot collect these individually. Please bring a printed or electronic copy of the confirming team entry. wildwestfitness@gmail.com if you need this resent. At registration you will be allocated a team number and detailed heat schedule that contains your lane number and heat time for each WOD. All Team Captains MUST have registered no later than on Saturday morning. Each Team will only be given their wristbands on receipt of a fully completed and signed Waiver. The Waiver will be ed to all captains a week before the event. SPECTATORS Spectators can also collect their tickets from the Registration Desk. Please bring a printed or electronic copy of the confirming ticket purchase. The Registration Desk will be open for spectators all weekend.

5 3. VENUE GL1 LEISURE CENTRE Bruton Way Gloucester GL1 1DT GL1 is opposite the ASDA Superstore just to the east of Gloucester city centre and within 5 minutes walk of bus, coach and train stations. CAR PARKING If driving to the event, please allow sufficient time to park in one of the nearby pay-and-display car parks and walk to the venue. We recommend the following car parks, all of which are within 5 minutes walk of the venue: GLOUCESTER TRAIN STATION (500m) Bruton Way, GL1 1DE ST MICHAEL S SQUARE CAR PARK (200m) St Michael s Square, GL1 1HX KING S WALK MULTI-STOREY (1,000m) King s Walk, GL1 1EA On-street parking in the local area is metered (free after 6pm and on Sundays). Opposite GL1 (50m) is a large ASDA. Parking for up to 2.5hrs is free if you are shopping in the store. FOOD & DRINK GL1 s on-site café will be open all weekend serving healthy snacks and meals. In addition, the ASDA opposite the venue is a great option if you need to purchase food.

6 4. ATHLETE SERVICES SPORTS MASSAGE, TAPING & PHYSIO Located in the Main Hall, we re delighted to be joined by Relief Sports Therapy. Lauren and Jack plus their team of volunteers from the University of Gloucestershire will be offering free sports massage to athletes all weekend, and there is also the option for kinesio taping (cost of tape only) or to book physio appointments for any specific niggles. WARMING-UP Located in the Dojo and squash courts, which are adjacent to the Main Hall, we have allocated space for the purposes of warming up. In addition to Concept-2 Rowers, there will be barbells and various pieces of equipment provided. Please use the warm-up area safely and pay due consideration to other athletes. HOLDING ZONE The Holding Zone, located in the far corner of the Main Hall (and far side of Pool for WOD 2) is key to the smooth operation of Winter Slam. All teams must report to the Holding Zone 10 minutes before the start of their heat and sit in the allocated seats. If you are late we cannot wait for you!

SPECTATOR TICKETS Due to venue capacity we urge you to encourage friends and family to purchase their tickets in advance in case we reach capacity: Ticket link: winterslam.eventbrite.co.uk Children under the age of 16 can attend the event for free and do not require a ticket, but must be accompanied at all times by an adult. 8.
