6 PRACTICE AND GAME DAY PROCEDURES Practice: Wake Forest University reserves the opportunity to work out at Groves Stadium between 4 pm 6 pm on Fridays prior to afternoon games and between 6 pm 8 pm on Fridays prior to night games. Any visiting team requests for practice time must be arranged through Brett Hickman, Director of Operations and Facilities, Coaches Phones: Visiting teams have access to 8 RJ14 hookups (16 dry pairs) and 1 player phone. Additional capabilities are available for a total of 22 dry pairs. Press Box Access: Visiting team coaches will have access to the coaches box located on level 5 of the Groves Stadium press box. A member of the operations staff will provide an escort for the visiting coaches from Bridger Field House to the press box prior to kickoff, during half-time, and at the conclusion of the game. Video: A covered platform is located on the roof of Bridger Field House for recording end zone game footage. Level 5 of the press box is reserved for recording side view game footage. However, if the game is televised, the roof of the press box will be used. Appropriate accommodations will be made if the roof is utilized (i.e. tent). Please be aware that a WFU operations staff member will be available to assist in transporting team video equipment to and from the press box and the roof of Bridger Field House. Facilities: Visiting team locker rooms are located on the West side of Bridger Field House. The visiting team sideline is on the East side of Groves Stadium. Supplies: Wake Forest University will supply the following: *600 pounds of ice *5 cases of Gatorade, 2 Pepsi, 1Diet Pepsi *3 dozen quartered oranges *Cups and coolers *2 grease boards & markers *2 treatment-taping tables *75 game programs *4 five-gallon water coolers *1 washtub for ice and towels *1 stretcher *1 pair of adjustable crutches *Laundry container/bag *1 operating 4 pack hydrocollator *Hand antiseptic *Liquid absorbent agent *200 towels/soap for game day *150 towels for workout day before game *Contaminated materials containers and/or sharp containers *Other personal protective equipment (gloves, masks, and eye goggles) 5

7 PRACTICE AND GAME DAY PROCEDURES Passes and Credentials: The following passes and credentials are provided for your convenience: Team: *Six (6) West Vehicle Lot passes will be provided for parking outside your dressing room. Passes should be used for team buses (3) and equipment trucks (3). Vehicles should enter off Deacon Boulevard and proceed to the west vehicle lot located adjacent to the west side of Bridger Field House. *Six (6) Blue Lot parking passes will also be provided to use at your discretion. *Fifty (50) Team Bench Area passes to be worn by all persons not in game uniform. Team Bench area passes are for official use only NO CHILDREN PLEASE! *Eight (8) Coaches Box passes for the visiting coaches box on Level 5 of the press box. *Four (4) Video Credentials to be used for an end zone camera (1), Level 5 of the press box (2), and the sideline (1). Athletic Director: *Eight (8) All Access credentials. *Six (6) Red Lot parking passes. Tickets: Visiting team player/family complimentary tickets may be picked up at Gate 4. Each visiting team is responsible for providing a representative to distribute player/family tickets. Any questions should be directed to Brad Darmofal, Director of Ticket Operations, Escorts: Visiting teams may contact Brett Hickman, Director of Operations and Facilities, at to make arrangements for police escorts to and from Groves Stadium. Medical Information: On game day, an Orthopedic Surgeon will be on the Wake Forest sideline and an Emergency Medical Unit will be located outside the visiting team locker room. In case of accident or injury, players will be taken to the Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center Emergency Room, , Medical Center Blvd. 6

11 PRE-GAME INFORMATION Warm-ups: The L system of pre-game warm-ups will be utilized prior to all ACC games until 45 minutes remain on the pre-game clock. At that point, both teams will be able to work the entire width of the field from the 50-yard line to their goal line. At the 22-minute mark on the pre-game clock in conference games, both teams will be required to leave the field for pre-game ceremonies. Any special pre-game recognition, including senior day ceremonies, must be held between the 22- minute and the 4-minute mark on the pre-game clock. The Visiting Team shall have the choice of entering the field before or after the home team just prior to kickoff. Ninety seconds will be allowed prior to each kickoff, following an extra point try, a field goal or safety for the purpose of a media timeout. 2. Under the above provision, in the event no timeout has occurred during a quarter, a radio timeout will be taken on the first change of possession occurring during the first five (5) minutes, the second five (5) minutes, and the third five (5) minute of the quarter guaranteeing no less than three 90-second timeouts per quarter. EXCEPTION: Because of momentum such as a punt, interception being returned, a muffed kick or fumble being recovered inside the opponent s 20-yeard line, the Referee may delay the timeout until a change of possession, in his judgment, is a time when momentum is not a factor. Any timeout which occurs in the above (category 1) provision will negate one guaranteed media timeout. 3. The intermission after the first and third periods will be 90 seconds. 4. 17 PARKING INFORMATION General Public Parking: Parking lots will open three hours prior to the announced game time. Please follow the established parking procedures for entering and exiting Groves Stadium. Buses, RVs, rental trucks, and trailers will be directed to park in the LJVM Coliseum parking lots. These vehicles will not be allowed in the Groves Stadium lots. General public parking in the Groves Stadium lots is $8, and parking in the LJVM Coliseum lots is also available. Reserved Parking: Gold lot: Reserved for Deacon Club members Golden C and above. Please enter via Reynolds Blvd. Red lot: Reserved for Deacon Club members Golden C and above. Please enter via Reynolds Blvd. Blue lot: General Public Season parking pass. Please enter via Reynolds Blvd. Green lot: Dedicated Student Lot. Please enter via Shorefair Drive. Media Parking: The Media Parking Lot is located off Deacon Boulevard. This lot will be open 4 hours prior to kickoff. Media members with proper credentials can enter the stadium via Gate 1. If you need assistance with regards to obtaining a parking pass for this lot, please contact Lisa Hunter, Administrative Assistant for Media Relations, at Handicap Parking: Handicap accessible parking is available in the following lots: Gold 21 spaces Green 28 spaces Media 18 spaces General 22 spaces Individuals with the proper handicap placard will be granted access to the above lots. Please note: If you do not have a handicap placard and season parking pass, you will be charged the $8 general public parking fee. Golf cart shuttles are available for individuals needing assistance from the parking lot to the stadium. Please contact the nearest parking lot attendant to arrange a shuttle. 16

19 FOOTBALL TAILGATING ETIQUETTE The following tailgating etiquette will be in effect for the 2005 Wake Forest football season to ensure a safe and enjoyable tailgating experience for our fans. The Department of Athletics encourages fans to arrive early, tailgate, and enjoy Demon Deacon Football. Our students, faculty and fans are all valuable members of our Wake Forest family and your attendance and participation at the games is a big part of our success. In order to make your attendance and that of those with and around you a positive one, our number one priority for tailgating is for your safety. Enjoy the game and GO DEACS!!! NO GAS POWER GENERATORS ALLOWED For safety reasons, gas power generators are not allowed due to the combustible situation gasoline presents. GRILLS AND KEGS Please be advised, propane grills will be allowed this season. However, we ask that propane tanks be limited to the 5-10 gallon size. Charcoal grills are discouraged, and we ask that hot coals be disposed of by using the 5-gallon water buckets provided by the Athletic Department. Kegs are permissible, however, groups providing kegs are also responsible for monitoring consumption and making sure those consuming alcohol are of legal age. NO GLASS CONTAINERS Again, for safety considerations, we ask that all tailgaters use cans and/or cups only NO GLASS, please! PARKING Parking lots will open three hours prior to the announced game time. Please follow the established parking procedures for entering and exiting Groves Stadium. Buses, RVs, rental trucks, and trailers, etc. will be directed to park in the LJVM Coliseum parking lots. These vehicles will not be allowed in the Groves Stadium lots. General public parking fee for 2005 will be $8. TENTS All tents are restricted to grassy areas no tents should be erected in the parking lots due to space limitations and for emergency access into and through the parking lot. NO EXTERNAL STEREO SYSTEMS ALLOWED Out of courtesy to others using the same parking lots, only portable radio/stereo units (boom boxes) will be permitted. Remember though, for safety reasons, house stereo units requiring an external power source will not be allowed. ATTEND THE GAME As has been the practice for many years, all tailgate parties will need to cease by the start of the game. This allows for the limited game day operations, security, and medical staff to turn their attention to those inside the stadium confines and is for the safety of all those attending the game. The parking lots will be cleared by University and Winston-Salem police officers beginning 10 minutes prior to kickoff. Tailgaters will be asked to enter the game or leave the parking lots. BEHAVIOR Please be respectful of other tailgaters around you. As a proud Wake Forest fan, we rely on you not only to follow these policies but to help enforce them with those around you as well. MISCELLANEOUS Please pick up and bag your trash before entering the game. Personal bags brought into the stadium are subject to search. In case of an emergency, please contact the Operations Staff at or dial 911. First Aid personnel can be located on the West Concourse under Section 1. 20 TICKET INFORMATION The Wake Forest Ticket Office is located at the Bridger Field House at Groves Stadium. The ticket office is open from 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Tickets may also be purchased on game days at Groves Stadium or at the LJVM Coliseum ticket office. To contact the ticket office, call DEAC or DEAC. Visa and MasterCard are accepted. Tickets may be purchased at Groves Stadium on game days at Gates 1, 5, 6, and at Bridger Field House. 21 STADIUM INFORMATION Animals Animals are not permitted in Groves Stadium, with the exception of trained service animals for spectators with disabilities. ATM An ATM is located on the stadium s West Concourse between Sections 4 and 5. Cameras Cameras with lenses less than 6 inches are permitted. Video and camera bags may be subject to search upon entry into the stadium. Concessions Several concession stands are located throughout the East and West Concourses. No food or beverage will be permitted through the stadium gates. First Aid A First Aid Station is located under Section 1 on the West Concourse. An Emergency Medical Unit will be on hand outside the visiting team locker room of Bridger Field House. To request medical attention, contact the nearest police officer or event staff member. Gate Openings Gates are open to spectators 90 minutes prior to the scheduled game time. Guest Information Guest information booths are located in front of Bridger Field House, on the West Concourse at Section 5, and the East Concourse at Section 15. Spectators can utilize Guest Information to obtain maps, fill out comment sheets, report problems, inquire about lost or found items, or to ask any other questions. Handicap Seating Seating for disabled guests is located in Sections 7, 9, 12, and 16. Lost and Found During the game, lost and found items will be kept at the Guest Services booths on the East and West Concourses. To inquire about lost items after the game, please call Dan Keane, Assistant Director of Operations, Novelty Stores Novelty shops are located inside Bridger Field House, on the concourse level behind Section 9, and on the concourse level near the scoreboard. Police Police headquarters are located on the concourse level of Section 18. Officers will be positioned throughout the stadium during the game. 20

22 STADIUM INFORMATION Re-entry policy Re-entry into Groves Stadium is permitted during games. Fans wishing to leave the stadium and re-enter must obtain a pass out from the gate attendant and present the pass upon re-entry. Restrooms Men s and women s restrooms are located throughout the East and West Concourses. Signs and Banners Signs, flags, or banners held by one person are allowed into the stadium. Signs cannot obstruct the view of any spectator, cannot contain any profanities, and cannot be attached to a pole. WFU Event Staff reserves the right to confiscate any sign or banner that is inappropriate or causes a disturbance. Smoking Smoking is not permitted in the seating area of Groves Stadium. Smoking is allowed on the concourse level of the stadium. Telephones Public telephones are located at the Guest Relations booths on the East and West Concourses.
