All-time series: GB, , , 5-1 STEPPING UP TO THE CHALLENGE Green Bay found itself in a must-win situation on Friday night in Dayton, Ohio, as the Phoenix took the court against league-leading Wright State needing a victory in order to keep its hopes of a 19thconsecutive conference championship alive. Green Bay stepped up to the challenge with a late 1-3 run to defeat Wright State, A win over Northern Kentucky would clinch at least a share of the regular-season title for Green Bay. KEEPING IT 100 Seniors Mehryn Kraker, Sam Terry and Lexi Weitzer claimed the 100th win of their careers in their final home game against UIC this past weekend. The most wins by a class in Green Bay s history is 1 and it was done by two separate classes, as Julie Wojta and Hannah Quilling set the record from and Adrian Ritchie, Lydia Bauer, Sarah Eichler and Stephanie Sension matched the record from A LOOK AT THE ALL-TIME SERIES Green Bay has only taken the floor against Northern Kentucky four times, with all of the matchups ending in Phoenix victories. The last meeting was the conference opener for Green Bay and ended with a 39-point Phoenix victory. WINNING TRADITION Green Bay has already secured its 40th-consecutive winning season and trails only Tennessee (43) for the longest active streak in the nation. Green Bay s streak includes 18-straight conference titles and 16 NCAA Tournament appearances. After the victory over Cleveland State on Feb. 10, the Phoenix also secured 18 consecutive 0-plus win seasons dating back to MORE HONORS FOR MEHRYN Boasting an already impressive resume, Mehryn Kraker added another bullet point in Green Bay s outing at Detroit Mercy, as the senior became the sixth player in program history to surpass the 1,500 point mark. Kraker also did so on a career afternoon, pouring in a career-high 35 points to move into a three-way tie with Trisha Ebel and Pam Roecker for third place on Green Bay s Single Game Scoring list. The most points scored in a single game was 38 by Chari Nordgaard at Loyola on Jan. 8, Kraker currently ranks fifth on Green Bay s all-time scoring list with 1,603 career points. Borseth, who recently led the Phoenix to its 18th-consecutive Horizon League title and 16th NCAA Tournament appearance, will be entering his 14th season overall at Green Bay and owns a winning percentage of.79 with the Phoenix. The Phoenix did not back down from the challenge, taking the top-ranked Fighting Irish team down to the wire, It was just the second time since season that an unranked team came within 4 points of Notre Dame in South Bend. THE PRESEASON WNIT RECAP Green Bay made its first appearance in the Preseason WNIT this season, defeating Elon, 71-56, in Round One. Senior Mehryn Kraker scored points in the victory on an 8-for-14 shooting night to lead all scorers. Jessica Lindstrom picked up right where she left off a season ago, recording a doubledouble with 1 points and 1 rebounds. Green Bay then faced Little Rock and defeated the Trojans Lindstrom led all scorers with 15 points and pulled down 9 rebounds, just one shy of her second-straight double-double. The Phoenix then traveled to South Bend, Ind., to face Notre Dame and almost pulled off the upset, Lindstrom was named to the Preseason WNIT All-Tournament team after scoring 47 points, pulling down 37 rebounds, blocking four shots and shooting 6.5% through three games. 8 KEVIN BORSETH Fifth Season (14 years total at Green Bay) th Season Overall Kevin Borseth is entering his fifth season in his second stint at the helm of the Green Bay women s basketball program in seasons as a D-I head coach with stops at Green Bay and the University of Michigan, Borseth is Borseth led the Green Bay women s basketball to a 8-5 finish on the season with a 16- record in Horizon League play. The Phoenix squad secured its 18th consecutive Horizon League regular season title, its 14th Horizon League Tournament Championship and the program s 16th NCAA Tournament appearance. In , Borseth aided the Phoenix to an overall record of 8-5 and garnered the 17thstraight Horizon League regular season title after going 15-1 in the conference portion of the season. Borseth and the Phoenix also went on the win the Horizon League Tournament, clinching the program s 13th tournament title and an appearance in the NCAA Tournament. In the campaign, Borseth led the Phoenix to its 16th-consecutive Horzion League regular season title after going 13-3 in conference action. The team advanced to the WNIT and finished the season with an overall record of -10 for its 15th-consecutive 0+ win season and 10th under his command in addition to its 37th-straight winning season. In 01-13, Borseth led the Phoenix to an overall record of 9-3 and a perfect 16-0 in the Horizon League, the team s 36th-straight winning season and 15th consecutive regular season Horizon League title. The team also advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the eighth time under his guidance. Borseth s overall record at Green Bay stands at and in the Horizon League. In 16 All told, the 7-year head coaching veteran has an impressive record of in his stints at Michigan Tech ( ), Green Bay ( ; 01-present) and Michigan (007-01). Green Bay Athletics Director Ken Bothof announced the hiring of Kevin Borseth as the head women s basketball coach on April 5, 01. Borseth, who compiled a 16-6 record in nine seasons previously serving in the same capacity at Green Bay, returned to the Phoenix after spending the previous five seasons as the head coach at the University of Michigan. Under Borseth s watch from , Green Bay advanced to the postseason in all nine seasons, including seven trips to the NCAA Tournament. The Phoenix also won the regular season conference championship in each of his nine seasons at the helm, beginning a stretch that currently stands at 15. Borseth coached a number of the most legendary players in the program s storied history, including the top two all-time leading scorers, Chari Nordgaard and Nicole Soulis. He also recruited recent standouts Celeste Hoewisch, Kayla Tetschlag and Julie Wojta to Green Bay and coached Hoewisch during her redshirt campaign in Borseth graduated from Lake Superior State University in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich., in 1976 with a bachelor s degree in business administration. As a member of the Laker basketball roster, Borseth helped his team to a 7-3 record over two years as well as a 1976 NAIA championship berth. Prior to his time at LSSU, Borseth attended Gogebic Community College and played for the Samson basketball team. Borseth and his wife Connie have five children; KC, Kayla, Carli, Kaitlyn and Kale.

9 Green Bay Coaching Staff SARAH BRONK Assistant Coach 10th Season In her 10th season on staff, Sarah Bronk is the longest-tenured member of the current Green Bay women s basketball coaching staff. Praised as one of the top recruiters in the Midwest, Bronk serves as the primary recruiting coordinator for Green Bay. In addition, she works with the team s post players. Prior to her time at Green Bay, she coached girls basketball and softball for six years at Dover-Eyota High School in Minnesota. She also served as a coach at Winona Cotter and St. Peter high schools, both in Minnesota, and led the Rochester Shock U17 AAU team for two years. She graduated from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minn. in 1999 after a successful softball career. Bronk was a three-year letterwinner for the Tommies, helping her team appear in two NCAA regionals. Prior to attending St. Thomas, she graduated from Winona Cotter High School in Known for her laugh and extremely outgoing personality, Bronk resides in Green Bay and enjoys spending her free time with her nieces and nephews. She also loves a variety of outdoor activities including camping and four-wheeling. She can also frequently be found on the Kress Center s racquetball courts. AMANDA LEONHARD-PERRY Assistant Coach Ninth Season One of Borseth s former players, Amanda Leonhard-Perry is in her seventh season as an assistant coach at Green Bay. Her primary duties include film breakdown, recruiting and working with the team s guards. She enjoyed a successful career at Green Bay from , and graduated as the program s best free throw shooter with a 84.7 percent mark for her career. She made 83 shots from the charity stripe in her four years, good for the seventh-best mark in program history. All told, she finished with 1,097 career points, 33 assists, 189 steals and pointers while earning academic all-conference honors in 001 and 00. Upon graduating, Leonhard-Perry accepted an assistant coach position at North Dakota State, where she served for three seasons. She helped the Bison through its transition to Division I and was a key part of the NDSU team that finished 1-6 in conference play in its first season in the Summit League. She joined then-head coach Matt Bollant s staff for the season, and for Borseth it was a no brainer to retain her upon taking over this season. Leonhard-Perry has played a pivotal role in the development of standout guard Megan Lukan as a role model and mentor. A native of Ladysmith, Wis., Leonhard- Perry graduated cum laude from Green Bay in 003 with a degree in business administration. She resides in Green Bay with her husband, Ray Perry, and their daughter. MEGAN VOGEL Assistant Coach Fourth Season Entering her fourth season as assistantant coach is Megan Vogel. She came to Green Bay from St. Cloud State where she served as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for three seasons. Vogel started all 10 of the Jackrabbits contests during her standout four-year career. She finished second all-time on the program s scoring list with 1,850 career points and also notched 194 career 3-point field goals and 783 career rebounds, good for the thirdand fifth-best marks in program history. During her time with the program, she was an ESPN The Magazine Academic All-American with a 3.8 cumulative GPA and a top 30 Finalist for the 007 NCAA Woman of the Year Award. Following her standout career with the Jackrabbits, Vogel became the first SDSU alum to be selected in the WNBA Draft when she was selected 19th overall in the second round by the Washington Mystics in 007. She was released during training camp prior to the 007 campaign, but remained with the team as an intern and practice player for the season while helping with film breakdown and scouting opponents. She also played one year professionally with the WWK Donau Ries in the German 1st League. A 007 graduate of South Dakota State, Vogel received a degree in Health, physical education and recreation. She returned to South Dakota State in August 007 as a graduate assistant coach while also completing her master s degree in sports pedagogy with an emphasis in sports administration. HANNAH QUILLING-IVERSON Director of Player Development First Season Head coach Kevin Borseth announced the hiring of Hannah Quilling-Iverson as the Director of Player Development for the Green Bay women s basketball program in October. Quilling-Iverson s role with the team will pertain to player management, program operations and assisting in the set up of on-campus recruiting and coordinating official and unofficial visits for potential recruits. Quilling-Iverson, a native of Eau Claire, Wis., most recently served as the director of basketball operations at the University of Illinois and was responsible for all aspects of game scheduling, team travel, practice scheduling and special appearances, and was the staff s chief liaison with the rest of the Division of Intercollegiate Athletics. Prior to her arrival at Illinois, Quilling- Iverson spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Ashford University. She helped the Saints to the 014 Association of Independent Institutions tournament championship, earning Ashford a berth in the NAIA Division II Women s Basketball Championship tournament, the first conference title and appearance in the NAIA D-II tournament in Saints history. Quilling-Iverson earned a bachelor s degree in human biology with an emphasis in health science and minors in human development and biology from UW-Green Bay in 01. She also went on to complete her master s degree in organizational management with a specialization in organizational leadership from Ashford in 014.
