Pastner, after going winless in the month of February, earned the 200th head coaching victory of his career against NC State and finished his ninth season as a head coach with a record. Tech played the last seven games without freshman point guard Jose Alvarado, who dislocated his elbow in a fall during the first half of the Yellow Jackets loss to Duke on Feb. 11, and the last 11 games without freshman guard Curtis Haywood II, who was diagnosed with a stress reaction in his right leg following the Jackets Jan. 31 game against Syracuse. Haywood had also missed six games earlier in the season with a shin injury. Okogie s 18.2 points-per-game average was the highest for a Tech player since the season, when Matt Harpring averaged 21.6, and the highest for a Tech sophomore since Harpring averaged 18.6 in Okogie became the sixth player in Tech history to reach 1,000 career points during his sophomore season. He finished the year with 1,033 points, fifth-most for a Tech player through his sophomore season. Tech finished the season with three 1,000-point scorers on its roster at the same time - Tadric Jackson (1,136), Ben Lammers (1,055), Josh Okogie (1,033) - for the first time since 1989 (Tom Hammonds, Brian Oliver, Dennis Scott) and for the third time in its ACC history (Bruce Dalrymple, Mark Price, John Salley in 1986). Tech improved to 6-10 all-time in the ACC-Big Ten Challenge when the Jackets defeated pre-season top-25 Northwestern at home in November. Twelve of the teams on Georgia Tech s schedule made the NCAA Tournament field, and 15 earned a spot in a post-season tournament. Tech returns seven players who received significant playing time in or more minutes per ACC game and combined to start 115 games overall. They accounted for more than two-thirds of total minutes played and 64 percent of Tech s scoring. Five of those players have two or more years of eligibility remaining. Tech adds a three-man recruiting class ranked No. 34 in the country for the season, including four-star guard Michael Devoe (No. 55) and three-star forwards Khalid Moore and Kristian Sjolund, and true to staff s objectives, class has varied skill sets and are expected to develop into significant contributors next season and beyond. (building through multiple quality recruiting classes) Another addition to the roster for next season 6-3 guard Shembari Phillips, a high-major conference player already who sat out the season as a transfer from Tennessee, has two years of eligibility. He averaged 6.2 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 37.5 pct. 3s in at Tennessee. Tech will still be young next season three freshmen, four sophomores, three juniors and two seniors among scholarship players returning or incoming but the process of getting old and staying old is ongoing. Pastner must replace two assistant coaches - Tavaras Hardy and Darryl LaBarrie. Hardy was named head coach at Loyola of Maryland in late March, while LaBarrie resigned during the season. Tech has sold out eight games over the past two seasons, including a McCamish Pavilion record five games in Tech s 29 homecourt wins over the past two seasons is more than any two-year period in the Jackets ACC era except the and seasons combined (31). That s 43 home wins over the past three seasons. Last Game: Jackets Fall Again to BC Despite two late pushes that cut the deficit to seven and then six under a minute, Georgia Tech men s basketball couldn t complete the comeback, falling to Boston College, 87-77, in the first round of the ACC Tournament. The Yellow Jackets (13-19) used 18 points off the Eagles (18-14) 17 turnovers to keep the deficit manageable, but 47 percent shooting and a rebounding advantage for BC made the difference. Senior Tadric Jackson finished with a game-high 29 points and five assists on the day as Ben Lammers finished with 18 points (10-of-12 from the free-throw line) and six rebounds. Josh Okogie was the other Jacket to score in double figures, tallying 14 points as well as six rebounds. Sophomore forward Nik Popovic scored a career-high 20 points and Jerome Robinson, runner-up for ACC player of the year, added 19 on 5-of-17 shooting for Boston College. Despite going 2 for 14 from 3-point range, the Eagles never trailed and were in control throughout against a Georgia Tech team that struggled to score all season. Jackson had 23 of his 29 points in the second half for the 13th-seeded Yellow Jackets (13-19), who won their final two regular-season games after losing seven straight and 11 of 12. Ben Lammers added 18 points and leading scorer Josh Okogie had 14 on 5-for-20 shooting. Jordan Chatman chipped in with 13 points for the Eagles, who had lost four of five. After trailing by 10 at halftime, Georgia Tech missed its first nine field-goal attempts in the second half and the Eagles opened their largest lead, 51-31, on Bowman s three-point play with 13:37 remaining. The pressing Yellow Jackets forced a flurry of late turnovers and cut the margin to six with 45 seconds left, but Boston College closed it out at the free-throw line. BC seized control with an early 9-0 run and went into halftime with a cushion. Lammers led all scorers with 11 points in the half. Team Trends Georgia Tech and Boston College faced one another in the opening round of the ACC Tournament for the fourth time in the last six years. The Eagles three of the previous four meetings, including 2013, 2014 and 2015 in Greensboro, N.C. Tech s lone win was a overtime decision in The outcome in each of their ACC Tournament meetings has followed suit with the regular-season result. BC won in 2013 after also winning the only regular-season game, Tech won in 2014 after winning both regular-season meetings, and the Eagles won again in 2015 after winning the only regularseason game. Boston College won the only regular-season meeting between the two teams this season, in overtime, on Feb. 4 in Chestnut Hill. Georgia Tech won its last two home games and finished the season 12-7 at home, is in six full seasons in McCamish Pavilion, and in two seasons under Josh Pastner. Georgia Tech had three players on its roster with 1,000 points (Tadric Jackson, Ben Lammers, Josh Okogie) for the first time since 1989 (Tom Hammonds, Brian Oliver, Dennis Scott), and for just the third time in the ACC era (Mark Price, John Salley, Bruce Dalrymple in 1986). For the last five games of the season, freshmen forwards Evan Cole and Moses Wright started alongside Ben Lammers on the front line, with Tadric Jackson and Josh Okogie in the backcourt. Cole started his sixth straight game, and Wright his fifth in a row, ninth overall this season. Georgia Tech has used eight different starting lineups this season. Tech has had its full roster to practice only for seven games this season. Injuries or other absences have forced Tech players to miss 46 games cumulatively this season. Freshman Jose Alvarado and Curtis Haywood II both suffered seasonending injuries, Alvarado on Feb. 11 early in Tech s game against Duke, and Haywood prior to the Jackets Jan. 31 game against Syracuse. Ben Lammers was the only Tech player to start every game this season, and has started Tech s last 70 consecutive games. Brandon Alston was the only other player not to have missed a game. 2

Okogie, Lammers Capture ACC Honors Josh Okogie was named to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference third team, and senior center Ben Lammers earned a spot on the ACC s All-Defensive team for the second straight year in voting announced Sunday by the conference office. Okogie, a 6-4 guard from Snellville, Ga., led the Yellow Jackets in scoring, finishing at 18.2 points per game, all season despite missing the season s first eight games with a dislocated finger. He ranked fourth in the conference in scoring and led the ACC in getting to the free throw line, 6.8 times a game while converting 82.1 percent of his attempts. A member of the ACC all-freshman team a year ago, Okogie made 38.0 percent of his three-point field goal tries, and 41.6 percent overall from the floor. He scored 20 or more points in a game 11 times during the season, eight of those in ACC games, including 30 against No. 15 Miami in early January and 29 against No. 5 Duke on Feb. 11. Okogie became the sixth sophomore in Tech history to go over 1,000 career points in the final regular-season game with his 22-point effort in the Yellow Jackets win over Wake Forest. Lammers, a 6-10 center from San Antonio, Texas, was the ACC s Defensive Player of the Year in 2017, but made the All-Defensive team again in 2018 despite being hobbled by an ankle injury for much of the season. Lammers rankeds third in the conference in blocked shots and 19th in the nation, and anchored a defense that ranked fourth in the ACC in scoring average against and ninth in field goal percentage against. Lammers also surpassed 1,000 career points, reached third place in program history in blocked shots and 10th place in rebounds. Josh 2.0 Josh Okogie did not let a late start to his sophomore season slow him down. The 6-4 guard averaged 18.2 points over 24 games following an eight-game absence due to a dislocated finger and an NCAA suspension. It was the highest average for a Tech player since the season, when Matt Harpring averaged Okogie, a preseason second-team all-acc choice, averaged 18.3 points against ACC teams (also fourth-highest in the conference), including 30 points in Tech s win over No. 15 Miami, the third 30-point game of his young career. He has scored in double digits in 38 of his last 40 games, missing only in Tech s two games against Virginia (nine on Jan. 18, seven on Feb. 21) in The Snellville, Ga., native has come up big against top-25 opponents at home, averaging 21.9 points in the nine games Tech has hosted against ranked teams at McCamish Pavilion. His career high of 38 came with 14 rebounds last year against No. 6 Florida State. Thirteen of his twenty 20-plus games at Tech have come against ACC opposition. He has already accumuated 1,033 points in his career (despite missing eight games), most by a Tech sophomore since James Forrest finished his sophomore season ( season) with 1,052 (see list on page 5). The 6-4 guard from Snellville, Ga., who earned third-team All- ACC honors, submitted his application to the NBA Undergraduate Advisory Committee and to the NBA ahead of the April 22 earlyentry candidate deadline. The application enabled Okogie to work out for NBA teams beginning April 24 and attend the NBA Draft Combine (May 16-20), if invited, and receive feedback on his potential draft status. He must remove his name from the draft by May 30 (NCAA withdrawal deadline) in order to maintain his college eligibility. Notorious B.E.N. Ben Lammers no longer had the element of surprise to his advantage this season, but the 6-10 center was no less the focal point of most things Georgia Tech does on both ends of the basketball court. The senior mechanical engineering major from San Antonio, Texas, made the ACC All-Defenisve team for the second time, remained among the conference leaders in rebounds, eighth overall (81 per game) and seventh in conference games (7.9). He also ranked third in blocked shots (2.4, No. 19 nationally) and ninth in minutes played (36.0, 54th nationally). The Laminator had nine double-doubles in , five of them in ACC games, and recorded 25 for his career. He ranks third in career blocked shots at Georgia Tech (254), 10th in career rebounds (774), and 42nd in career points (1,055). The 6-10 center appeared more like his self in Tech s final five games, averaging 15.4 points with two 20-plus games, and hitting 51.8 percent shots from the floor. 4

He also has been invited to participate in the Portsmouth Invitational, an NBA pre-draft camp for college seniors in April. Action Jackson When Tadric Jackson is healthy and playing well, he makes a difference for the Georgia Tech with his ability to penetrate, handle the ball and score in traffic. But he took on a new role in Tech s last five games, handling the Yellow Jackets point guard duties. The Tifton, Ga., native, a former Georgia state prep player of the year, averaged 37.8 minutes, including 40 minutes Feb. 24 at Clemson, and averaged 18.2 points and hit 11-of-33 threes over that stretch. Up until this move, Jackson had been very effective scoring inside for the Jackets, using his strength to get to the rim in traffic, hitting better than 51 percent of his field goal tries. He finished the season No. 2 on Tech s chart with a career-high 12.7 points per game. The 6-2 senior had been one of the top reserves in Tech history over the past two seasons, but injuries have forced him into the starting lineup in Tech s last six games. He had logged 35 double-digit scoring games off the bench as a Yellow Jacket, 26 of those since the beginning of last season. The senior guard reached double figures 21 times in 29 games overall in and 41 times in his last two years. His biggest improvement was rebounding - averaging a career-best 3.7 rebounds, twice his career rate, including a pair of nine-rebound games in his last six. Tadric Jackson did a great job. He was able to drive us, but more importantly, I thought he did a great job of posting our guards up, which we knew could happen. - NC State coach Kevin Keatts A.D. is No Lie Georgia Tech got a big lift from an unlikely source during the early portion of its ACC schedule, junior forward Abdoulaye Gueye (pronounced AB-doo-lie GAY). During the month of January and into February, the Yellow Jackets saw seen the 6-9 junior become a legimate offensive force, and not just a disruptor on defense and on the boards. Known as A.D. to his teammates and coaches, the likeable Gueye took advantage of a much-improved hook shot to average 6.5 points (50 percent from the floor) and 4.5 rebounds in in ACC games. He has come off the bench in Tech s last four games in favor of freshman Moses Wright after starting 15 straight games. He has scored in double figures in seven games since conference play began, something completely unforeseen during the non-conference season. In the first 39 games of his career, covering two-plus seasons through the holiday break this year, Gueye had scored a total of 70 points, only once scoring more than six points in a game (13 vs. UT-Rio Grande Valley in November). We couldn t stop him at the beginning of the game. Probably were a little surprised at how good he was and how much they went to him, but he was very effective. - Clemson coach Brad Brownell after Gueye scored 14 points with eight boards against the Tigers Non-conference ACC Scoring Rebounding FG% 37% 50% FT% 54% 67.9% Top Scorers Thru Soph. With Alvarado and Haywood, the more highly-rated of the group, out for the season with injuries, the other two members of the class have gotten their opportunity to grow. After Tech s Jan. 24 loss at Florida State, Pastner put Cole and Wright in a red-shirt program than entailed extra strength and conditioning sessions and extra skill work on the court in addition to the team s regular practices. It has paid off for them and for the Jackets. On Feb. 11 against Duke, when Pastner was unhappy with the performance of Tech seniors Tadric Jackson and Ben Lammers, he put Cole and Wright in the game for their first extended minutes of the ACC season, and they didn t disappoint. In the second half of that game, the duo combined for 19 points, 12 rebounds, four assists and three blocks in 41 minutes as Tech pared a 26-point second-half deficit down to 11 in an loss. As a result, Cole has started Tech s last five games, and Wright the last three. Very good basketball player, can score the basketball inside and out, athletic, runs the floor, NC State coach Kevin Keatts said of Cole. He s going to be a very good basketball GAME COACHES NOTES 5

He dislocated his left elbow in a fall, which will cause him to miss 6-8 weeks. The Brooklyn native, the first Tech player from the New York area in nearly 20 years, was up to the task prior to his injury, averaging 12.6 points per game to rank second on the team, 3.9 rebounds and 3.3 assists with an assist/turnover ratio of 77/56. He also shot the ball well, making 45 percent of his shots from the floor, 37.4 percent from three-point distance, and 80.2 percent from the foul line on 80 attempts, second most on the team behind Josh Okogie, who leads the ACC in that category. Among ACC freshman, he ranked fifth in scoring and fourth in assists, and is No. 4 overall in steals at the time of his injury. Alvarado posted 16 double-figure scoring games, four times scoring 20 or more. And the 6-foot playmaker averaged more than 39 minutes per ACC game to rank among the league s top five, playing every minute eight times, including four consecutive games before Duke. He is not the first Tech point guard to earn the starting job as a freshman and handle it well. He follows such Tech greats at Mark Price, Kenny Anderson, Travis Best, Stephon Marbury, Tony Akins and Jarrett Jack, as well as others who started at the position as freshmen without reaching their lofty accomplishments. Josh Okogie logged his fifth 40-minute game against Wake Forest and averaged 36.8 minutes per game, which ranked 37th nationally, and 37.2 in ACC games. Okogie played 92.3 percent of possible minutes in ACC games, while Lammers played 90.2 percent. Alvarado had played 96.7 percent of possible ACC minutes prior to his injury. Lammers ranked No. 1 among centers nationally in minutes per game. Alvarado had ranked fifth among freshmen nationally in percentage of minutes played and minutes per game before the Duke game. The threesome had 20 complete games combined in (eight for for Alvarado, six for Lammers, five for Okogie), and Tadric Jackson joined the group by playing 40 minutes at Clemson. Tech had at least one player play the full 40 in 12 of 19 ACC games (regular season plus tournament). NOTE: Between the Cremins era and the arrival of Pastner, only one Georgia Tech player played every minute of a game, regulation or overtime, and that was Marcus Georges- Hunt on Feb. 20, 2016, in a win over Notre Dame at home. In the final 15 seasons of Cremins tenure ( through ), a total of 196 players logged a 40-minute game. Lineup Shuffle Georgia Tech utilized eight different starting lineups and a short bench this season, with youth, injuries and other absences factoring in. Tech s playing rotation this season featured four freshmen and a first-year graduate transfer who have combined to start 68 games (36 ACC games) and log 43 percent of the Yellow Jackets total minutes (38 percent in ACC games). Eleven of the 16 players on Tech s roster, and six of the 11 eligible scholarship players, are freshman or sophomores. Injuries or other absences have forced Tech players to miss 46 games cumulatively this season, and that number continues to grow with Jose Alvarado and Curtis Haywood II sidelined the remainder of the season. Ben Lammers was the only Tech player to have started every game this season (68 straight). Grad transfer Brandon Alston was the only other player not to miss a game. Assisted Living Georgia Tech coach Josh Pastner preached and prodded his Yellow Jackets on ball and player movement from the first time he got his team on the practice court. His primary measuring stick on how well the Jackets perform offensively is their ratio of assists to made field goals. In Pastner s first season, the Yellow Jackets ranked 13th nationally, according to KenPom.com, in highest percentage of assists to made field goals at 62.6 percent, the team s highest rate since the season. Tech s number was 63.2 percent in ACC games. Pastner s nightly goal is 60 percent. Tech did not perform as well in that department in , assisting on 54.6 of its made field goals overall, 53.9 against ACC teams, and missing Pastner s 60-percent bar 14 times. Tech remained above the national average (52.5 pct.) in that category. The Yellow Jackets held all but five opponents under their season scoring average this season, many of them significantly lower. At 67.3 points allowed per game, Tech ranked fourth in the ACC and No. 57 nationally in scoring defense. Even Duke, which led the ACC in scoring average at 89.1, scored 80 against Tech. In terms of adjusted offensive efficiency, Tech ranked No. 6 in the ACC in points per 100 possessions against the conference (104.8), No. 61 nationally in all games (98.9). Tech s strengths lay in two-point field goal defense (19th at 45.4 pct,), block percentage (15th) and steal percentage (44th). In , Tech ranked No. 6 nationally in adjusted defensive efficiency (91.0 points allowed per 100 possessions). Tech ranked fourth in the conference in scoring defense (66.8 ppg) and No. 1 in FG percentage defense (39.8 pct.). Winning Starts at Home Georgia Tech and head coach Josh Pastner have made a priority of making McCamish Pavilion a real homecourt advantage for the program, and the Yellow Jackets made a good start on that by setting a program record for wins at home (17) last season, which included a 7-2 ACC record and two NIT victories. Tech is 12-6 against ACC teams at home under Pastner, and that includes a 5-3 mark against ranked opponents. The Jackets win over No. 25 Notre Dame on Jan. 10 was just the latest triumph in a list that includes eventual NCAA champion North Carolina (No. 9 at the time), No. 6 Florida State and No. 15 Notre Dame last season, as well as a win over No. 15 Miami on Jan. 3 this season. Tech s only losses came to No. 9 Louisville last January and to No. 2 Virginia and GAME COACHES NOTES 7

Contact the ACC media relations office at for the call-in number and for questions on the schedule. No. 18 Clemson this season. Tech is overall at McCamish Pavilion under Pastner. Third Time Not the Charm Georgia Tech s Dec. 6 loss at Wofford ended a distinction for head coach Josh Pastner that had been a personal point of pride, and a measure of consistent success. Until then, Pastner had never lost three straight games in eight seasons as a head coach, never in seven years at Memphis and not during his first season at Georgia Tech. Only one other power conference head coach and program could make that claim over the last eight seasons, and that was John Calipari and Kentucky. Calipari also has sustained his first three-game losing streak this season, and the Wildcats have lost their last four games. Seven ACC teams lost three in a row last season. Tom Izzo and Michigan State lost three straight last season. Roy Williams and North Carolina lost three straight in Kansas and Villanova lost three in a row in That Tech has been able to avoid a three-game skid last season was remarkable; the Yellow Jackets lost two in a row on six occasions, and lost two straight bridging the end of the season and this year s season opener against UCLA. The most improbable victories that stopped those streaks from continuing were a win Dec. 7 at VCU on Dec. 7, the Rams only home loss this season, Jan. 25 at home vs. No. 6-ranked Florida State, a No. 3 seed in the NCAA Tournament, and its first-round NIT win over Indiana, a No. 3 seed. Win Followed losses to D7 at VCU Penn State and Tennessee on the road J12 vs. Clemson at Duke and Louisville at home J25 vs. Florida State at Virginia Tech and Virginia F7 vs. Tusculum at Clemson and Wake Forest F28 vs. Pittsburgh NC State at home and at Notre Dame M14 vs. Indiana at Syracuse and Pitt (ACC Tournament) N19 vs. Bethune-Cookman vs. TCU in NIT and UCLA in China Hyder Inducted into Atlanta Sports Hall Former Georgia Tech basketball coach John Whack Hyder was inducted posthumously into the Atlanta Sports Hall of Fame on Feb. 16. Hyder began his career in Atlanta as a Yellow Jacket student-athlete, lettering in baseball, basketball, track and cross country during his time on The Flats ( ). After a brief departure in which he spent three years in the New York Yankees minor league farm system, he returned to Georgia Tech to be its head basketball coach from 1951 to The second-winningest coach in Tech basketball history, Hyder amassed 292 wins and led the Jackets to their first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance in 1960, making the Elite Eight. Hyder also coached the team to the NIT championship game in 1971 the second-straight appearance in the tournament. Hyder was inducted twice into the Georgia Tech Sports Hall of Fame, both as a player in 1960 and a coach in 1983, and had his banner raised during the season. He was tied for the 10th most wins for a head coach in his first seven seasons in Division I basketball history, and was the second winningest active coach under the age of 40 in NCAA Division I. Despite his young age, Pastner has been involved in basketball at the Division I level for 20 years, as a player and an assistant coach at Arizona, and as an assistant coach and the head coach at Memphis. He has been a part of teams that have won 490 games, played in 17 NCAA Tournaments and 18 total post-season events. Teams he has been involved with have won 12 conference tournament or regular-season championships, advanced to seven Sweet Sixteens, five Elite Eights, two Final Fours and two NCAA championship games. In year one, Georgia Tech played in its first National Invitation Tournament championship game in 46 years in 2017, capping an inaugural season under head coach Josh Pastner that defied all pre-season projections and expectations. Tech won 21 games and an 8-10 ACC record for the second straight year after being picked to finish 14th in the conference. Along the way, the Yellow Jackets knocked off No. 9 North Carolina, the eventual national champion, No. 6 Florida State and No. 14 Notre Dame, as well as Boston College, Clemson, Pittsburgh and Syracuse in conference play. Tech defeated Indiana and Belmont at home in the first two rounds of the NIT, completing a school-record 17-win home schedule, then went on the road to defeat Ole Miss to reach its first NIT final four since Once there, the Yellow Jackets won their semifinal game over CSU Bakersfield before losing in the championship game to TCU. Pre-Season Storylines for Sports Illustrated rated Georgia Tech s defense No. 6 in its pre-season projection of the top 50 defenses in Division I. Ben Lammers (first team) and Josh Okogie (second team) were named to the preseason All-Atlantic Coast Conference team by the media at the conference s annual Operation Basketball media day. Lammers was on the preseason watch lists for the John R. Wooden Award (national player of the year) and the Lute Olson National Player of the Year Award. Lammers was also one of 20 Division I players named to the preseason watch list for the Kareen Abdul Jabbar Award, given annually to the nation s top center. The ACC media and Blue Ribbon Basketball Yearbook both projected Georgia Tech to finish ninth in the 15-team ACC, and both tabbed Ben Lammers to the pre-season All-ACC team. Despite the fact that Georgia Tech lost six seniors from the squad, its top three scorers and two of its top three rebounders from that team - Josh Okogie (16.1 ppg, 5.4 rpg), Ben Lammers (14.2 ppg, 9.2 rpg) and Tadric Jackson (12.1 ppg) - returned for Pastner s second season on The Flats. Five players who averaged 10 or more minutes per game returned for Georgia Tech was the only ACC team that had three returning players who averaged 12 points or more per game in This year s Georgia Tech team has only two seniors - second-team All-ACC center Ben Lammers and guard Tadric Jackson, who finished second in the ACC Sixth-Man Award voting - and 11 eligible scholarship players altogether. The other holdovers include ACC All-freshman guard Josh Okogie, 6-4 sophomore point guard Justin Moore, 6-9 junior forward Abdoulaye Gueye and 6-10 sophomore center Sylvester Ogbonda. The Yellow Jackets welcomed four freshmen and two transfers, and turned over their entire walk-on group, meaning there were 10 new faces on the 16-man roster. Five former Georgia Tech basketball stars were on NBA rosters when the season began. Marcus Georges-Hunt, a 2016 graduate, made the opening roster for the Minnesota Timberwolves after seeing limited action late last season with the Orlando Magic. Iman Shumpert, a six-year NBA veteran, began his third full season in Cleveland after helping the Cavaliers win the NBA championship in 2016, and was traded before the deadline to Sacramento. Thaddeus Young, in his 11th NBA season, is in his second season with the Indiana Pacers after two years in Brooklyn. Derrick Favors has emerged as a key figure in his seventh season in Utah. Jarrett Jack, a 13-year NBA veteran who suffered a knee injury two season ago while with Brooklyn, played only briefly with the New Orleans Pelicans late last season and has become a starter this season with the New York Knicks. Arts and Letters Beginning with Moe Miller and Lance Storrs in the summer of 2011, every four-year senior in the Georgia Tech program has graduated. Tech s 2018 seniors, Tadric Jackson and Ben Lammers, were both on track to compete their degree requirements in the spring (Jackson) and fall (Lammers) semesters. Derek Craig and Nick Foreman received their Tech degrees in 2012, as did the 2013 senior class of Mfon Udofia, who finished his business administation degree work in the summer, and Pierre Jordan, who completed his Masters degree requirements in building construction in the spring. Brandon Reed graduated in the summer with his management degree before transferring back to Arkansas State to play his final year of basketball. All three of Tech s four-year seniors in Kammeon Holsey, Daniel Miller and Jason Morris - graduated that spring. Robert Sampson, the Jackets only undergraduate scholarship senior in , graduated in the spring. From the squad, Marcus Georges-Hunt walked the stage at commencement in May, accomplishing the rare feat of graduating in four years. Point guard Travis Jorgenson, who elected not to use his final year of eligiblity, will receive his degree in December. From the team, Josh Heath, Corey Heyward (fifth-year because of an injury redshirt in ) and Quinton Stephens all graduated in May of 2017, while Rand Rowland finished his requirements and received his degree in December of Both graduate transfers, Kellen McCormick (summer of 2017) and Jodan Price (fall of 2017), received their Masters degrees. The only physical elements of McCamish Pavilion that remain from the venerable Alexander Memorial Coliseum are the roof, which was re-covered, and the 32 steel ribs that support it. The capacity of McCamish Pavilion is 8,600, including 1,665 seats in the new balcony level and 6,935 seats in the lower seating bowl. There are no suites, but there is a premium club area that seats 500. Alexander Memorial Coliseum seated 9,191 spectators in its final configuration. The most impressive features of McCamish Pavilion are its grand entrance, which fronts 10th and Fowler Streets, the ability for patrons to view the court from the main concourse all the way around, and the theatrical lighting system, which concentrates light on the court while leaving the seating areas dark, modeled after the Staples Center in Los Angeles and Madison Square Garden in New York. Tech played 55 seasons in Alexander Memorial Coliseum, compiling a record of (.741). Miami was the last team to play Tech in Alexander Memorial Coliseum, a game Tech won, and was the first ACC team to play in McCamish Pavilion on Jan. 5, which Miami won. For the season, Tech played its home games at Philips Arena and the Arena at Gwinnett. Coaches on McCamish Pavilion Tremendous atmosphere. Golly. We love the opportunity to play in the NIT but, as a lot of you know, sometimes places don t get as excited about that as they ought to. This place was excited about an NIT game and it was a great atmosphere. - Belmont coach Rick Byrd following Tech s NIT win on March 19 Well first of all, it was a great atmosphere and a fun place to play a game. It is my first time in this facility. - North Texas coach Grant McCasland on Nov. 24 The student section was great; the crowd was great. It s been great that the crowd came out. And I tell you, even coach [Tom] Crean said this at shootaround today because he [was the analyst for] our game today [on ESPN2], he mentioned the crowd and the atmosphere. 11 Head Coach Josh Pastner 2nd season Josh Pastner, who guided Memphis to five post-season berths in seven seasons as the Tigers head coach, was introduced as Georgia Tech s 14th head basketball coach on April 8, 2016, and wasted no time in getting the Yellow Jackets back to the post-season. In his first season at the helm, his Yellow Jacket team defied all pre-season expectations by winning 21 games, including four in the National Invitation Tournament. Tech posted an 8-10 ACC record, which included victories over No. 9 North Carolina, No. 6 Florida State and No. 14 Notre Dame, who all finished among the top four in the ACC regular season. He was named Coach of the Year in the ACC and in NABC District 2. Pastner also was honored at the Most Positive College Coach in Georgia by Positive Athlete Georgia, an organization which promotes the benefits of positivity among young athletes. Implementing a high-energy style of play and creative offensive and defensive schemes, Pastner and his staff guided the Yellow Jackets all the way to the finals of the NIT for the first time in 46 years. Two of his players earned all-atlantic Coast Conference honors; junior center Ben Lammers was named second-team All-ACC and ACC Defensive Player of the Year, while freshman guard Josh Okogie was named to the ACC All-Freshman team. At the same time, Pastner tirelessly promoted the program on campus and throughout the city of Atlanta in an effort to re-create the atmosphere that surrounded the Yellow Jackets throughout the 1980s, 1990s and into the middle of the 2000s. The result was a programrecord 17 home wins at McCamish Pavilion, which sold out three times in the regular season and became a big homecourt advantage for the Jackets during their NIT run. Pastner, who turned 40 early last season, compiled a record over seven seasons as the head coach at Memphis, where the Tigers earned bids to the NCAA Tournament four times. He tied for the 10th most wins for a head coach in his first seven seasons in Division I basketball history, and is the second winningest active coach under the age of 40 in NCAA Division I. He is the 14th head coach in Tech s program history. Despite his young age, Pastner has been involved in basketball at the Division I level for 21 years, as a player and an assistant coach at Arizona, and as an assistant coach and the head coach at Memphis. He has been a part of teams that have won 524 games, played in 17 NCAA Tournaments and 19 total post-season events. Teams he has been involved with have won 12 conference tournament or regular-season championships, advanced to seven Sweet Sixteens, five Elite Eights, two Final Fours and two NCAA championship games. As an NCAA head or assistant coach and an AAU head coach, he has coached nearly 25 NBA draft selections. Pastner s Memphis teams averaged 23.9 wins per season and compiled a conference regular-season record of 82-36, including a conference winning streak of 28 games. The Tigers went 11-4 in Conference USA and American Athletic Conference tournaments, including three championships. He guided Memphis to five post-season berths, the NIT in 2010 and the NCAA Tournament in 2011, 2012, 2013 and Pastner twice won Conference USA Coach of the Year honors (2010, 2013) by various organizations and news media. A native of Kingwood, Texas, Pastner was born in Glen Dale, W.Va. He earned his bachelor s degree in family studies in December of 1998, in just two and a half years, from Arizona and his master s degree in teaching and teacher education from Arizona in December of 1999, all while lettering four years in basketball for the Wildcats under head coach Lute Olson.
