4 Season Outlook: The Buckeyes finished the fall season 6-0 in conference and overall. They will have a much more veteran presence this year, with 16 returners. In the Spring they have a difficult nonconference schedule including Akron, Cal (PA), Xavier, Ohio State DI and the NCBA Spring Training Showcase. The Bucks new conference, the Northern Plains-East, is one of the toughest in Division II featuring match-ups with Toledo, Grand Valley State, and Adrian College in the Spring in preperation for a run at Conference, Regional, and a National Titles. The team lost several key players including former Vice-President Patrick Riley, and captain Zachary Uzzel, as well as last season's All-American infielder Moe Lathan who was called up to the DI team. However, the pitching depth this year rivals previous seasons, with the return of key players including: Matthew Jeffers (Career: 4-2, 2.86 ERA, 1.55 WHIP), Eric Pfeifer (Career: 9-4, 2.55 ERA, 1.4 WHIP), Joseph Juza (Career: 3-1, 1.98 ERA, 1.13 WHIP), Cole Buehner (Fall, 1-0, 0.00 ERA), Matthias Miles (Career: 1-0, 1 SV, 2.42 ERA), and Jackson Jennings (Career: 3-0, 2.96 ERA, 1.73 WHIP). The Buckeyes are also looking forward to seeing newcomers Trent Clark and Tyler Hoffman step up on the bump this year. The offense will be led by Kevin Mingus (Career: 317/.456/.475), Noah Wulforst (Career:.258/.395/.355), Nate Grady (Career:.304/.419/.368), and Peter Fisher (Career:.259/.359/.389, 15 SB). 11 Season Outlook: We started with a strong showing in the fall to leave us in second place in the Northern Plains Central. With Conference series remaining against 1 st place Madison, and against last years conference champion UWL will lead to a very fun spring.
