In the Presbyterian game (November 11) Gabby Tyler grabbed 12 rebounds and Amanda Dowe tallied 11 rebounds. Charlotte accomplished the feat against when Dowe and Jennifer Hailey grabbed 10 rebounds apiece against Arkansas State (November 13). Charlotte has had at least two players grab doublefigure rebounds in a game 165 times in school history. Cleaning Up The Missed Shots - The 49ers grabbed 61 rebounds against Arkansas State (November 13) which is tied for the eighth highest single-game rebound total in school history. This game marked the first time since grabbing 60 rebounds against Evansville, January 6, 1986 that the 49ers grabbed at least 60 rebounds in a game. For the 85th time in school history, Charlotte grabbed at least 50 rebounds in a game when they grabbed 51 rebounds against Elon. 2 Game Notes Winning Streak Starting 49ers Coaching Career - Coach Cara Consuegra recorded her first career victory with the 49ers win over Presbyterian (November 11). With the victory, Consuegra is now the sixth straight 49ers head coach to win their first-ever home game at Charlotte. She joins former 49ers coaches Ed Baldwin, Katie Meier and Amanda Butler as coaches that have won their first game they coached at Charlotte. Consuegra won her first five games as 49ers coach. She is the only 49ers coach to win their first five games at the helm of the Charlotte women s basketball program. Strong Start To The Season - The 49ers began the season with five victories which marked the fifth time in school history that the 49ers won at least their first five games. The school-record for best start is 10-0 which happened twice in and seasons. The 49ers began the season with five victories. Charlotte began the season with six wins. Overtime - Charlotte defeated Virginia Tech on overtime, November 16, Charlotte is now all-time in overtime games. Double-Figures Off The Bench - Last season, the 49ers had 26 double-figure scoring games off the bench. This season, the 49ers have had one player score in double-figures off the bench in each of their first five games. Charlotte has recorded seven double-figure scoring games off the bench. Katie Meador recorded the 49ers first double-figure scoring game off the bench this season after Meador scored a career-high 10 points in Charlotte s victory over Presbyterian. Hillary Sigmon recorded the 49ers second double-figure scoring game of the season with 11 points against Arkansas State. Jennifer Hailey scored 12 points off the bench against Virginia Tech. Jai Forney and Epiphany Woodson each scored 21 points against Virginia Tech marking the 49ers first two 20-point scoring games of the season. This was also the first time since February 7, 2009 that two 49ers scored at least 20 points in the same game. The last 49ers duo to score at least 20 points in the same game was former 49ers standouts Ayhsa Jones (28 points) and Shannon McCallum (23 points) against Duquesne, February 7, Woodson scored 21 points against Long Island. Jennifer Hailey recorded her second career 20-point scoring game with 20 points against Florida State. Atlantic 10 Player of the Week - Epiphany Woodson was named A-10 Co-Player of the Week (November 21). This marked the second time in her career that she has claimed A-10 Player of the Week honors. She averaged 16.5 points and 4.5 rebounds in the 49ers victories over Virginia Tech and Elon. All-Tournament honors - Jennifer Hailey was named to the LIU Turkey Classic All- Tournament team. She scored 30 points, grabbed 21 rebounds and blocked nine shots in the 49ers games against Long Island and Florida. Preseason All-Atlantic 10 - The 49ers were picked fourth in the preseason Atlantic 10 poll. Senior Epiphany Woodson was selected first-team preseason All-Atlantic 10. Jennifer Hailey was voted preseason second-team All-Atlantic 10 and she was also selected for the A-10 All-Defensive team. 566 And Counting - The 49ers recorded the program s 500th win with their win over Davidson, December 9, Charlotte now has 566 wins in the program s history.
