2 They expect this to be complete by the end of the week if all goes well. All ranges will continue to be closed on weekdays until around 4 pm. They will be open as usual on weekends. I will send out another when the ranges can resume normal weekday use. Please do not use them before 4 pm until then. Thanks, Jeff Zwiebel TRA Repair Update September 27, 2016 While the dirt mounds may be gone, the sewer line crews still have some work to complete. The new manhole has been poured and will be backfilled tomorrow. There is some other concrete work that needs to be done around the existing manholes to repair damage from the bypass lines. Also some more finish grading in front of the shotgun range and on the rifle range. We all recognize Jason Foshea and Will Chisum as championship shooters on the clay fields, and as the picture below shows, they are just as effective on the dove fields, great shooting guys!! Page 2

As of October 4, Mike Gerschick s team, 3 on 8, is leading followed by Kerry Williams and the Claybusters. Team 6 in third place is only 2 points behind the leader so not out by any means. Straights and HOA leaders are mostly familiar names with one notable exception, Nicholas Godfrey, who is definitely a contender. 10 WORLD WARM UP 2016 GPGC held the World Warm Up registered skeet tournament September The event drew seventy three shooters including seven international contestants from England and New Zealand. The Doubles event opened the tournament with two rotations slated. Highest scores of the day were two 98s from Mike Gerschick and Andrew Benson. Experience prevailed over youth and when the shoot- offs were through, Gerschick emerged as CH. Jason Foshea earned third place with a score of 97. Michael Dennis (AA) and Nicholas Godfrey (A) were Class Champs also with scores of 97. The 12 gauge event saw Jo Ellen Collin return to defend her 2015 win as gun CH with a perfect score of 100. A challenge came from Nicholas Godfrey and Allen Cline when they also shot perfect scores; this time Godfrey took gun champ, Collin RU and Cline 3 rd. Foshea (AAA) once again took class champ along with Jeff Zwiebel (B), both had scores of 99. As a testament to the target quality at GPGC, the 12g contestant had have scored a 95 or better in all classes to have garnered an award. The 20g championship was won outright by Michael Dennis with the lone 100. Scores of 99 rendered Nicholas Godfrey RU and Michael Schmitt 3 rd. Once the shoot-offs were completed entrants were treated to a steak dinner prepared by the lovely ladies of the kitchen ( plus Mr. Shuping) and Grill Master Richard Kummer. The evening s entertainment was provided by Plano Synergy and their very generous donation of game cameras and gun cases which given away as door prizes. Despite the ideal conditions on Sunday morning, the 28g also had a lone 100 from Gary Edwards (CH). Runner up and third came from seven scores of 99s; Godfrey (RU) and Cline (3 rd ) again showing they are not intimidated by the shoot off field and bested the group. 410 concluded the main shoot and Paul Newman was the Champ with a 100. Local gentlemen Ran Davis and Michael Dennis put up 98 s for RU and 3 rd respectively and Austin Reith s 98 won him AAA1. Lady CH was Ms. Jo Ellen Collin and only one bird behind her was Miss Charli Abendroth for LyRU. The coveted HOA title went to Michael Dennis with a score of 394. Paul Newman, Nicholas Godfrey, Andrew Benson and Austin Reith vied for RU and 3 rd. When the dust settled, experience triumphed over age once again and Mr. Newman was runner up and Godfrey 3 rd. Benson took home AAA1 and Rieth AA1. Recognition should be given to those whose efforts made The World Warm-Up part of the top 100 shoots in the country. The team of Skidmore and Speer who manage registration and statistical data are unequaled anywhere. The field volunteers deserve to be lauded because they are always in stealth mode and never inconvenience the squads or interrupt a shot. Gene Wills, Jeff Zwiebel, Richard Kummer, Randy Walhood have earned my respect for the time and effort they devote to the facility. Plano Synergy and the Lovelace family graciously donate door prizes for two registered tournaments a year and everyone loves a gift. Last but not least, the kitchen is manned by a cast of characters that work hard all day for two days and most do not even shoot competitive skeet. Thank you to you all! GPGC has the mastered the formula for successful registered skeet tournaments and it lies with the members who work so diligently to make the club what it is. Tracy Ragle Page 10

18 GPGC Bullseye Match 9/15/2016 We had 9 shooters participate this afternoon, in steamy weather. It tried to rain before the match started, but that fizzled out so we didn't get wet. It was really steamy. The shooters were : Clint Freeman, Wesley Binney, Ron McCuller, Ed Dotson (behind Ron), Floyd Jester, Jim Grabbe ( behind Floyd), Dan Brown and Gary Ledbetter, hiding behind Dan. The winners were Floyd Jester, second shooting a S&WM S&W revolver, scoring 263-4"X"'s and Gary Ledbetter, winner, shooting a S&W 22 Victory auto, scoring "X"'s Gary just got it back from the S&W factory, for a too tight lug bolt holding the barrel in place.. Gary shot a 100 in timed fire. Sometime earlier this year, Floyd shot a 100 timed fire also, with a S&W M revolver. Congratulation guys. Clint Freeman s M 1911 type 45 pistol's optical sight misbehaved during slow fire so he took it off and shot the rest of the match with the iron sights. The score sheet is given below. 20 GPGC Bullseye Match 9/22/2016 We had 9 shooters participating this afternoon. It was hot and summer was still with us! We had to turn off the fans so the shooters could hear me call the start & stop commands. The shooters were : Clint Peterson, Floyd Jester, Wesley Binney,Ron McCuller,Jim wilson, Gary Ledbetter, Jim Grabbe, Ed Dotson, and Dan Brown, behind the camera. The high scorers were: Gary Ledbetter, winner, scoring 275-4"X",shooting a S&W Victory 22 auto. Jim Grabbe, second place, scoring 263-3"X", shooting a Walthers GSP 22 auto. Congratulations, guys. Clint Freeman's Ruger Mk II failed during slow fire so he had to put his Hi-Standard into action for timed and rapid fire courses. The regular Ruger shooters concluded it was a case of a dirty gun The score sheet is given below, For the GPGC Pistol Committee, Dan Brown Page 20

21 GPGC Bullseye Match 9/30/2016 We had 10 shooters participating this afternoon. It was really great weather today, probably the reason we had 10 shooters! The participants were as follows: Wesley Binney,Clint Freeman, RonMcCuller,Floyd Jester,Jim Wilson, Ed Dotson, Hoa Nguyen, Jim Grabbe, Gary Ledbetter, and Dan Brown not shown (taking the picture). The high scorers were Floyd Jester,Winner, scoring 280-4"X"'s,shooting a S&W M REVOLVER, and Gary Ledbetter, second, scoring "X".s,shooting a S&W Victory.22 auto. Floyd shot 97's in BOTH timed and Rapid Fire. Gary shot 93 in slow fire! Both used 2 hand hold on their guns. I made the first mistakes in the score sheet last night right after the match in adding up the scores to get the totals. Then I reviewed the score sheet and re-scored all of the targets. Gary's 93 in slow fire stood out. I wonder if anyone else has scored 93 in slow fire? A couple of weeks ago Floyd shot a 100 in timed fire. Those 2 scores are the highest I have seen in years of running matches here at GPGC. Congratulations guys! The corrected score sheet is given below. For the GPGC Pistol Committee, Dan Brown Page 21
