Requests for additional information should be directed to UCI Athletic Communications, 903 West Peltason, Irvine, CA Interviews: All interviews with UCI head coach Pat Douglass and the Anteater players must be arranged through the UCI Athletic Communications Office at least 24 hours in advance. Arrangements will be made for telephone and in-person interviews at a time that is mutually agreeable to the media representative and the UCI coach or student-athlete. Media Credentials: Seating at press row, access to the press room, photo areas and post-game interview areas is restricted to accredited media. Requests for working media credentials should be made on your company s letterhead to the UCI Athletic Communications Office at least 48 hours prior to the game. All will-call credentials will be available at the lower east entrance of the Bren Events Center (level beneath the main box office). Photo Credentials: Courtside photo access will be granted only to working media photographers and must be requested by sports editors or directors. Still photographers are restricted to designated baseline areas. Radio: Two courtesy phone lines are available for use by visiting flagship radio stations. For additional phone lines, please contact SBC at Visiting radio will be seated next to the visiting team s bench at east courtside. Television: All requests for televising UCI home basketball games, outside of those contracted by the Big West Conference, should be directed to Bob Olson, Associate Athletic Director/Athletic Communications, 903 West Peltason, Irvine, CA Main camera locations will be on the upper-east side of the Bren Events Center, with announcers seated at east courtside. Game Services: Pre-game notes, cumulative statistics, media guides and rosters will be available prior to the start of each home game in Room 119 near the lower-east entrance of the Bren Events Center. Halftime statistics will be distributed along press row and in the media room. Final statistics will be available in the media room and interview areas. Two phones will be available on a shared basis in the workroom for media use. Fax requests should be directed to the UCI Athletic Communications staff. Post-game Interviews: UCI head coach Pat Douglass will be brought to an adjacent locker room for post-game interviews. UCI players also will be brought to that room upon request by the media. Visiting team s post-game interviews will be coordinated by that university s SID or assigned representative. Directions to the Bren Events Center South on the 405 Freeway: Take 405 to the 73 Freeway and get off on University. Turn left. Take University to Mesa Road and make a right. Park in the Mesa Parking Structure on the right. The Bren Center is adjacent to the parking structure. North on the 405 Freeway: Take University/Jeffrey exit and turn left. Proceed on University approximately three miles to Mesa Road and turn left (light after Campus Drive). Park in the Mesa Parking Structure on the right. The Bren Center is adjacent to the parking structure. South on the 55 Freeway: Take the 55 to the 73 Freeway. Exit on University. Turn left. Take University to Mesa Road and make a right. 2 THE VOICE OF UCI BASKETBALL: MARK ROBERTS MARK ROBERTS returns for his 16th season to call the Anteaters action on KUCI/88.9 FM Radio and the Internet. One of the veteran announcers on the West Coast, Roberts also serves as the voice of UCI baseball, including the Eaters exciting postseason run to Omaha and the College World Series in 2007, the Super Regional at LSU in 2008 and the Irvine Regional in He has previously called games with Birmingham and Pensacola in the Continental Basketball Association, and has also been the voice of professional baseball s Bakersfield Blaze and Riverside Pilots. Roberts also announces Southern California high school football on radio in the fall. He previously has been the play-by-play voice for UC Riverside basketball, plus he has produced and announced high school football and basketball in the Palm Springs area. Roberts also has produced and hosted a successful sports magazine television show in the Coachella Valley. KUCI/88.9 FM Radio will broadcast all UCI regular-season and postseason games for the 15th consecutive year. KUCI, the student-run station, has programming that includes rock, jazz, classical, reggae, rap, international, blues, folk, gospel and more. UCI Athletics expresses its thanks to Kevin Stockdale, broadcast media coordinator/communications, and Mike Boyle, engineer at KUCI, for their assistance with the broadcasts.
