Get your record book started!! On June 30th, the current 4-H year will end, which means the due date for record books is not far behind. What is a record book? It is a report of all the accomplishments and activities that a 4-H member has completed in the year. The summary of these activities is what is used to determine if a member has earned a star rank to wear on their 4-H hat. Record books consist of: 1. The Personal Development Report (PDR) 2. Project Reports (one for each project) 3. The 4-H Story (an essay about what you did/accomplished/learned during the year) 4. Body of Work (a collection of photos representing the 4-H year) Complete instructions for the record book may be found in the record book handbook at All forms may be found at The online record book is available to all youth members, via login.cfm. Your log in ID and password are the same as what you use for enrollment. Online record books are NOT required! You may still download and use the forms as before. Please contact your Community Club Leader with questions.

5 Club News Thoughtful Gifts! The best projects have a service component where members can use their talents, abili es and new found skills to benefit others. Sage Meadows led a Hand Sewing Project with her fellow project members. She decided to have the girls sew decora ve pins for the Seniors in West Marin. She then delivered the pins and cards to the Stocks ll House in Point Reyes Sta on. Tri-Valley Chicken BBQ June 10th By Gavin Harding The first annual Tri-Valley chicken barbeque and showmanship workshop day will be held at the Pomi deer camp on Sunday June 10th, 2012 starting at nine in the morning. There will be many fun activities and even practice showmanship for cavies, rabbits, and dairy. Finally, there will be a drawing for a hand -made quilt! Altogether it s going to be a load of fun and a very good time with friends. The food is going to be great also, so the Tri-Valley club invites you to come out, eat and have some fun! Hopefully, I ll see you there! Mill Valley s Memorial Day Parade: 4-H is a Hit! Mill Valley 4-Hers where the talk of the town at this year s Memorial Day parade. The decked out float, waving kids and cute animals gave parade viewers a real treat. Great job!

6 RECORD BOOK WORKSHOP For all members, whether new or returning, we will have a Record Book Workshop Saturday, June 16th At the County 4-H office, 1682 Novato Blvd. Ste. 150B Primary Members: 10-10:30am Jr. & Sr. Members: 10:30 noon Please come with questions and any record book work that you have already started. We will review each component of the book and answer your questions so you can turn in a great record book! Save the Date! Officer s Training New Club officers will have the opportunity to come and learn about their new job and participate in a mock 4-H Business Meeting to brush up on parliamentary procedure.
