Guard/Forward Nottingham Criminal Justice 4/9/84 Background: Markell played in 3 games last season, scoring 8 points, including a career high 5 points against Adirondaack. During high school, Markell was active as a player and a coach in several basketball programs sponsored by the Boys & Girls Club of Syracuse. He was recognized with a Most Improved Player award and a Coach of the Year award. Markell s older brother, Marcus, played at Providence College and was the 2004 second round draft pick of the Los Angeles Lakers. Parent: Melody Douthit Academic Goal: To be a lawyer or the next Johnny Cochran Athletic Goal: Just to be the best & very athletic. Most Memorable Athletic Moment: Playing on my AAU basketball 14, checking the best player there & holding him to 8 pts. Parents: Mike & Danette Endress Academic Goal: Graduate from a 4-year school. Athletic Goal: Play at a 4-year school. Guard r, NY r Humanities 8/7/85 Background: Last season, Cody played in 26 games. He scored in double figures 3 times, including an 11 point effort in a win at Cayuga. For the season, he averaged 3.2 points and 1.1 rebounds per game, and shot 44.4% from the three point line. Prior to coming to Onondaga, Cody was a three year varsity letterman at r, wheere he played for coach Pat Dugan. As a senior at r, he led the team in scoring, averaging 15.1 points per game. He also connected on 42 three-point goals for the season and 81 in his career, both r record. He was named an Onondaga High School League Liberty Division All-League selection. Cody led r to post-season play in both his junior and senior season. He was also a member of the golf team. Most Respected & Admired Person in Sports: Brett Favre, because he s Brett Favre Favorite TV Show: Sienfeld Favorite Musical Performer: 50 Favorite Activity Outside of Basketball: Golf, Madden 2006 Reggie Flynn 23 2nd Year lb. Guard Jamesville, NY Jamesville-DeWitt Recreation Leadership 1/22/86 Background: Reggie played in 28 games last season. He averaged 2..4 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game. He scored a career high 9 points in a win over Adirondack, and handed out 7 assists at Broome. As a senior in high school, Reggie was the sixth man for coach Bob McKenney on the Red Rams undefeated New York State Public High School Athletic Association and State Federation Class A championship team. In his two varsity seasons, he also contributed to two Section III championships and two Onondaga High School League Liberty National Division championships. An outstanding all-around athlete, Reggie was also an All-League wide receiver on the football team and among the Section III leaders in the 400 meter dash and the 4x100 meter relay. Most Respected & Admired Person in Sports: Dwayne Wade, he s an exciting player to watch. 6 Players Dan Frisina 13 2nd Year lb. Guard Henninger Humanities 2/25/86 Background: Last season, Dan played in 10 games. He scored his only 2 points in the home contest against Tompkins-Cortland. Dan played basketball in the St. Matthew s CYO program during high school. As a point guard for St. Matthew s, he averaged 9.4 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 4.6 assists per game. He was also a member of Henninger s football team, which reached the Section III Class AA championship game. Parents: Dave Frisina & Rita Frisina Lucas Academic Goal: Graduate from OCC & earn 4-year degree. Athletic Goal: Become a better player, help the team reach potential. Most Memorable Athletic Moment: Come from behind win vs. nationally ranked CBA in football & earn a spot in AA section finals. Parents: Kenneth Gethers Sr. & Esther Gethers Academic Goal: Being the best student I can possibly be. Athletic Goal: Being perfect knowing that every time I step on the court I gave my absolute best without any doubt or question. Most Memorable Athletic Moment: Holding my 1,000 point trophy with my mom before a game Parents: Hubert & Andrea Hanks Academic Goal: At least a 3.0 or higher. Athletic Goal: Achieving a scholarship. Most Memorable Athletic Moment: Breaking Morrisville s backboard off an alley-oop. Most Respected & Admired Person in Sports: Brett Favre, he plays with reckless abandonment, heart, and determination. Favorite TV Show: Family Guy Favorrte Musical Performer: Simplelife Favorite Activity Outside of Basketball: Hanging out with friends. Kenny Gethers 40 2nd Year lb. Guard/Forward Bishop Grimes Engineering Science 1/21/85 Background: Kenny transferred to Onondaga this year after playing his freshman year at NAIA Division II Houghton College. At Houghton, He averaged 11.7 points and 7 rebounds per game and was named to the Amnerica Midwest Conference All-Freshman Team, as well as being an honorable mention All-Conference selection. As a high school player, Kenny was a 4-year varsity player and scored 1,233 points for coach Jamie Evans at Bishop Grimes High School. He was an All-Central New York selection, an All-Onondaga High School League Liberty American Division All-League selection, and as a junior and a sophomore led his team to the Section III Class C championship game. He was a high school teammate of fellow Lazer Joel Hughes at Bishop Grimes. Most Respected & Admired Person in Sports: Tracy McGrady, because he takes a team that isn t as talented as others and makes them contenders Favorite TV Show: Martin Favorite Activity Outside of Basketball: Enjoying life with the family. Adrian Hanks 45 2nd Year lb. Guard/Forward Liverpool, NY Liverpool Computer Information Systems 9/15/85 Background: Adrian transferred to Onondaga last spring, after initially playing at Cazenovia College in At Cazenovia, he was named team Most Valuable Player and freshman of the year in the Northeast Athletic Conference and averaged 22.5 points per game, good for 17th in the country in Division III. Adrian played high school basketball for coach Jerry Wilcox at Liverpool. As a high school player, he was also team MVP and led the Warriors to an undefeated regular season in his senior year. He was named first team All-Central New York and All-Onondaga High School League, and was selected to play in the Zebra Classic in both his junior and senior years. He was a high school teammate of current Lazer Dom Perioli and former Lazer Dan Marsella. Most Respected & Admired Person in Sports: Lebron James, because he is young and does his thing in the NBA. Favorite TV Show: Roseanne, Fresh Prince, Bill Cosby, Scooby Doo Favorite Musical Performer: Cassidy, Styles P Favorite Activity Outside of Basketball: Making jokes about people. 5

7 Players Joel Hughes 43 2nd Year lb. Forward Bishop Grimes Humanities 9/26/86 Background: Joel played in 19 games last season. He scored 13 points in the home win over Jamestown-Cattaraugus County, and a team best 12 points against Tompkins-Cortland at home. For the season, he averaged 2.2 points and 1.2 rebounds per game. Prior to Onondaga, Joel was a two year varsity player at Bishop Grimes, where he played for coach Jamie Evans. He averaged 9 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists per game, and was a second team Onondaga High School League Liberty American Division All-League selection. As a junior, he helped the Cobras reach the Section III Class C championship game. He was a high school teammate of current Lazer Kenny Gethers. Parents: Ken & Cindy Hughes Academic Goal: Earn a 4-year degree. Athletic Goal: Help our team win a championship. Most Memorable Athletic Moment: Playing in high school sectional finals in Manley Field House. Most Respected & Admired Person in Sports: Ben Wallace, hardest working athlete. Favorite TV Show: Family Guy Favorrte Musical Performer: Fabolous Favorite Activity Outside of Basketball: NBA Live Tyler Kurzinski 11 1st Year lb. Guard Bernhards Bay, NY P.V. Moore Business Administration 1/20/87 Background: Tyler comes to Onondaga from P.V. Moore High School in Central Square, where he played for coach Jay Adams. As a senior, he led his team to the Section III Class AA-1 Championship while averaging 14.7 points and 5.2 assists per game. Tyler was a 3rd Team Onondaga High School League Colonial American Division All-League selection. He was also selected to play in the Zebra Classic. Parents: Brad & Laura Kurzinski Academic Goal: Maintain a 3.0. Athletic Goal: Play at a 4-year school & win the region championship. Most Memorable Athletic Moment: Playing at Manley field House, winning the first ever school sectional championship. Parents: Charles & Debbie Sasenbury Academic Goal: To go on to a four year school. Athletic Goal: To play at four year school. Favorite TV Show: Family Guy Favorite Activity Outside of Basketball: Playing PlayStation, hanging out with friends. Eric Latendress 24 2nd Year Co-Captain lb. Guard Oriskany, NY Oriskany Recreation Leadership 9/10/84 Background: Last season Eric was the only Onondaga player to appear in all 30 games. He finished third on the team in scoring with a 9.4 points per game average, highlighted by a 33 point outburst in a win at Schenectady. He scored in double figures 10 times, and also averaged 2.9 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game. In high school, Eric played for coach Bob Reid at Oriskany. As team captain in his senior year, he led Oriskany to the Section III Class D championship game and a Center State Conference Division title, while averaging 21.1 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game. He was named second team All-State, All-Mohawk Valley, first team All-Center State Conference, and team Most Valuable Player. He was also an all-league performer in football and track. 8 Players Parents: Patrick & Patricia Mannion Academic Goal: Go on to a 4 year school and get a degree. Athletic Goal: Be a leader on and off court, help the team in any way. Most Memorable Athletic Moment: Beating Bishop Grimes in sectionals. They were #1 seed, we were 8th. Parents: Dard & Donna Moonan Academic Goal: Receive 2 yr. degree in business and transfer to Cortland. Athletic Goal: Have a successful season, make the playoffs, possibly play at a 4- year school. Most Memorable Athletic Moment: Playing in the regional tournament at Cobleskill my freshman year at OCC. Pat Mannion 5 2nd Year Co-Captain lb. Guard Marcellus, NY Marcellus Business Administration 1/7/85 Background: Pat emerged as one of Onondaga s starting guards last season. He scored his career high of 19 points in Onondaga s overtime win over SUNY Canton, and also hit double figures at Canton and at Finger Lakes. He averaged 4.4 points and 2.5 rebounds per game, and finished second on the team in assists with 4.3 per game. In High school, Pat was a two year varsity starter for coach Jim Marsh at Marcellus, and was named team captain as a senior. He averaged 9.5 points, 3.5 assists, and 2.5 steals per game, and was a two time Onondaga High School League Liberty American Division All-League selection. He was also a two time Zebra Classic participant. A three sport athlete, he was also a two time All-League goalie on the soccer team and a three year member of the golf team. Most Respected & Admired Person in Sports: Michael Jordan, he did it all. Favorite TV Show: CSI, Sports Center, Real World Favorrte Musical Performer: Dave Matthews Band, OAR Favorite Activity Outside of Basketball: Docking, hanging out with friends. Pat Moonan 32 2nd Year lb. Guard Pennellville, NY J.C. Birdlebough Business Administration 9/20/85 Background: Pat played in 31 games for the Lazers in , averaging 2.0 points, 1.2 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game. He had a career high 7 points on two occasions, against Clinton and in a regional playoff against Columbia-Greene. He also had 6 assists at Jefferson. Pat came to Onondaga from J.C. Birdlebough High School in Phoenix, where he played for coach Paul Bednarz. As a senior captain, he averaged 10 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists per game. He was a two-time honorable mention All-Onondaga High School League selection, and was selected to the Zebra Classic in his senior year. He was also named to the All-Tournament Team in both the APW Tip-Off Tournament and the Hannibal Christmas Tournament. Most Respected & Admired Person in Sports: Michael Jordan, when you grow up watching someone play the way he did it pushes you that much harder to be that good. Favorite TV Show: Seinfeld Favorite Musical Performer: Incubus Favorite Activity Outside of Basketball: Snowboarding Joel Parlour 41 1st Year lb. Guard Liverpool, NY Liverpool Accounting 6/4/87 Background: Joel played varsity basketball for coach Jerry Wilcox at Liverpool High School. As a senior, he averaged 4.4 points and 2.3 assists per game. During his high school years he also was actively involved with playing CYO Basketball. Parents: Roger & Katherine Parlour Academic Goal: Become a Certified Public Accountant Athletic Goal: Win a championship Most Memorable Athletic Moment: Scored 5 3-ptrs with Greg Paulus guarding me, game winning 3-ptr vs. B-ville JV year. Most Respected & Admired Person in Sports: Ronneil Herron, he s good and makes others around him better, he s positive. Favorite TV Show: Everybody Loves Raymond Favorite Musical Performer: Musiq Soulchild Favorite Activity Outside of Basketball: Fishing 7

9 Players Dom Perioli 22 1st Year lb. Guard Liverpool, NY Liverpool Criminal Justice 7/5/86 Background: Dom was a two year varsity player for coach Jerry Wilcox at Liverpool. In his junior year, the Warriors had an undefeated regular season and captured the Onondaga High School League Division Championship. Dom was a high school teammate of current Lazer Adrian Hanks and former Lazer Dan Marsella. His older brother, Anthony, played for Onondaga in Parents: Rich & Angie Perioli Academic Goal: Transfer to 4-yr school, get criminal justice degree. Athletic Goal: Contribute to the success of the team. Most Memorable Athletic Moment: 2 years of varsity basketball and baseball at Liverpool High School Parents: Randy & Missy Riker Academic Goal: Get into Cortland State Athletic Goal: Win conference championship Most Memorable Athletic Moment: Hitting 2 free throws to clinch win against TC3 Most Respected & Admired Person in Sports: because he is the best shooter. Favorite TV Show: Fresh Prince Favorrte Musical Performer: Sheek Louch Favorite Activity Outside of Basketball: Baseball Peja Stojakavic, Jeff Riker 11 2nd Year lb. Guard/Forward Freeville, NY Dryden Business Administration 1/9/86 Background: Jeff averaged 8.4 points in 22 games last season. He scored a career high 20 points in Onondaga s first win of the season, against Ulster County, but unfortunately also suffered a hand injury in the game which caused him to miss the next 8 contests. He averaged 4.9 rebounds per game, including a 13 rebound effort at Corning, handed out 3.1 assists per game, and led the Lazers with 2.5 steals per game. In high school,jeff was a three year varsity performer for coach Todd Kwiatkowski at Dryden. He averaged 10 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists for his career and was team captain as a senior. He was a two-time Interscholastic Athletic Conference All-Conference selection and was named to the All-Tournament Team at the Broome County Stop DWI Classic and the Greene Tip-Off Classic. Most Respected & Admired Person in Sports: David Ortiz, he makes plays happen in clutch situations. Favorite TV Show: WWE Monday Night Raw Favorite Musical Performer: Billy Joel Favorite Activity Outside of Basketball: Sleeping Steve Siechen 50 1st Year lb. Forward East East Syracuse-Minoa Criminal Justice 12/4/86 Background: Steve played varsity basketball for coach Jamie Curtin at East Syracuse-Minoa High School. He averaged 13.5 points and 8 rebounds per game for his career at ESM, and was an Onondaga High School League Colonial American Division All-League selection. He was selected to play in the Zebra Classic in both his junior and senior years, and played AAU basketball with the Central New York Flames. Parents: Steve & Judy Siechen Academic Goal: Go to a 4-year college. Athletic Goal: Play at a Division 2 school. Most Memorable Athletic Moment: Playing in the Zebra Classic chamiponship as a junior. Most Respected & Admired Person in Sports: Lance Armstrong, for what he has done in his life. Favorite TV Show: CSI, Las Vegas, Amazing Race Favorite Musical Performer: Nelly Favorite Activity Outside of Basketball: Boating 8

Athletic Goal: Region & national championship Most Memorable Athletic Moment: Winning the state championship and Federation and going undefeated. Justin Stern 35 1st Year lb. Guard DeWitt, NY Jamesville-DeWitt Humanities 12/5/86 Background: Justin comes to Onondaga from Jamesville-DeWitt, where he played basketball for current Onondaga Athletic Director Bob McKenney. At JD, he was an Onondaga High School League Liberty National Division All-League selection as a senior, as his team caputred the division championship and reached the Section III Class A finals. He averaged 14 points per game, and connected on 57 three-point goals to place among the top 10 in all of the Section. As a junior, Justin was a member of the JD team which went 29-0 and captured bothe the New York State Public High School Athletic Association and Federation Class A Championships. He was also selected to the Zebra classic as a senior. Most Respected & Admired Person in Sports: Kirk Hinrich, greatest white player in the NBA, and a little resemblence doesn t hurt. Favorite TV Show: Family Guy Favorrte Musical Performer: Mike Jones who? Dave Matthews Band Favorite Activity Outside of Basketball: Sleeping, video games, hanging w/ friends. Clive Young 21 1st Year lb. Guard New Hartford, NY New Hartford Nursing 4/1/86 Background: Clive played for coach John Randall at New Hartford Central. As a senior, he averaged 5.7 points and 7.1 assists per game. In addition to playing in high school, he was also active with the Adirondack Spirit AAU program. Parents: Clive Young Jr., & Loretta Young Academic Goal: To graduate with a four year degree. Athletic Goal: Make everyone around me a better person and player. Most Memorable Athletic Moment: Going 19-1 my sophomore year in high school. Most Respected & Admired Person in Sports: Michael Jordan, he was hard working and noone could stop him. Favorite TV Show: Niptuck Favorite Musical Performer: Jay-Z, Young Jeezy, and me (I spit bars) Favorite Activity Outside of Basketball: Spending time with family & friends. 11 Head Coach Dave Pasiak Background: Coach Pasiak has been involved in coaching basketball for the past 22 years. In five years at Onondaga, Coach Pasiak has compiled an overall record of His teams are in Mid- State Athletic Conference play, and against Region III Division III competition. The Lazers are the only Mid-State Conference school to qualify for the conference playoffs in each of the past five seasons, and are one of only three schools to have qualified for the Region III Tournament in each of the last four seasons. Onondaga is after January 1 during Coach Pasiak s tenure. Most importantly, all of his recruited players remained academically eligible and on track towards their degrees. Onondaga has not lost a recruited or returning player to mid-season ineligibility since Coach Pasiak s arrival, and overall 97% of Onondaga players have remained academically eligible. Also, since arriving at Onondaga 5 years ago, 19 former Lazers have moved on to play at Division I, II, and III four-year schools. He has produced two All-Americans, one Academic All-American, three pre-season All-Americans, eight All- Region players, two conference Players of the Year, and eight All-Conference players in five years. Last season, Coach Pasiak directed Onondaga to an overall record of 17-13, and a Mid-State record of 7-7. The Lazers rebounded from an 0-4 start in conference play to qualify for the conference playoffs for the fifth straight year, and for the Region III tournament for the fourth straight year. Onondaga also finished 9th nationally in scoring offense, the fifth consecutive year that they have finished in the top ten in that category. In , under Coach Pasiak s direction the Lazers finished with an overall record of 21-11, and a Mid-State record of 9-5. The Lazers qualified for the conference playoffs and for the Region III tournament. They reached the Mid-State Championship game, and won two postseason contests for the first time since Onondaga also received honorable mention in the NJCAA Division III national poll and finished 10th nationally in scoring offense. In , Coach Pasiak guided the Lazers to a final record of 23-7, the second best in school history. Onondaga s regular season mark of 23-5 was the best ever at the school. The Lazers spent five weeks as an honorable mention selection in the NJCAA Division III national poll. They finished 12-2 in Mid-State play and qualified for the conference playoffs. Onondaga reached the Region III Division III quarterfinals and finished 8th nationally in scoring offense. For these accomplishments, Coach Pasiak was named the Region III Coach of the Year, and was also named the Mid-State Athletic Conference Coach of the Year for the second consecutive year. In , after starting 1-8 against one of Region III s most demanding schedules, Coach Pasiak guided the team to 16 wins in their final 19 regular season games. The Lazers finished the season 18-13, 11-3 in Mid-State Athletic Conference play, and qualified for post-season play, reaching the Mid-State Championship game, and the Region III Division III quarter-finals. The Lazers also achieved notariety for their offensive outbursts, as they ended the season as the top scoring team in NJCAA Division III play. As a result, Coach Pasiak was recognized as the Mid-State Athletic Conference Coach of the Year, as voted on by the league s coaches. In Coach Pasiak s first season, , he took over the Lazers program just prior to the start of the school year. He inherited a team with only two returning players and minimal experience among the newcomers. After getting off to an 0-11 start, Coach Pasiak guided the team to a remarkable turnaround, as they won 12 of their last 17 regular season games, finished third in the Mid-State Athletic Conference, and qualified for the conference playoffs for the first time in several seasons. Previouslyl, Coach Pasiak served as the head coach at Herkimer County Community College for two years, from 1991 to He also served for two seasons as an assistant under the late Jack Bruen at Colgate University, a Division I institution in Hamilton, NY. In addition, he served four seasons as an assistant at Division III Utica College in Utica, NY, and has coached at several high schools in Central New York. Immediately prior to coming to Onondaga, he was the Athletic Director at Frankfort-Schuyler Central School, in Frankfort, NY. Coach Pasiak is a 1984 graduate of Clarkson University, where he was a member of the basketball team. In addition to coaching the Lazers, he also works with at-risk high school students as a Tutor and Counselor in the Onondaga Community College Liberty Partnerships Program. He has been a featured speaker and staff member at several of the top basketball camps in the northeast. He is actively involved In Coaches vs. Cancer, a nationwide movement of basketball coaches leading the fight against cancer, and serves on the Board of Directors for the Basketball Coaches Association of New York.
