5 #25 Jordan Barzee 2nd Year! Cicero 6 2 Guard! Home Schooled Background: Jordan is one of the Lazers tri-captains this season. He is believed to be the first home schooled men s basketball player at Onondaga. Last season he played in 20 games, with a personal best of 7 points against Jamestown- Cattaraugus. Before coming to Onondaga, Jordan played basketball for Syracuse Christian and coach Peter Irvine, averaging 15 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 6 assists per game. He was two-time Greater Finger Lakes Christian Athletic Association North Division Most Valuable Player, and a three-time 1st Team All-Conference selection. Jordan was also an outstanding soccer player for Syracuse Christian. Cicero-North Syracuse Background: Brandon is one of Onondaga s tri-captain this season. Last year he played in 19 games, with career highs of 6 points against Columbia Greene and 6 rebounds against Clinton. He is a graduate of Cicero-North Syracuse High School. During high school he played basketball primarily for the Syracuse Thunder AAU program, where he was his team s leading rebounder while averaging 15.6 points per game. 6 Josh Kennedy Redshirt! Bridgeport 5 11 Guard! Chittenango Background: Josh was expected to be a key contributor for the Lazers this season. Unfortunately, he suffered a knee injury prior to the season which will force him to take a medical redshirt this season in anticipation of playing in In Josh played in 11 games. He scored 8 points, grabbed 12 rebounds, and handed out 9 assists, including 4 against SUNY Canton. Prior to coming to Onondaga, Josh played high school basketball for coach John Clancy at Chittenango. He played both guard positions for the Bears and led his team into the Section III playoffs. Parents: Charles Kennedy & Debbie Kennedy Major: General Studies Academic Goal: 3.0 Athletic Goal: Help my teammates become better and also improve as a player to help my team win. He had season highs of 14 points at Broome, 10 rebounds against Clinton, and 8 assists on two occasions. Before coming to Onondaga, Jason played high school basketball for coach Mark Carr at East Syracuse-Minoa, where he was also an Honor Roll student. He led his team to their best record in several seasons and a Section III Quarter-final appearance while averaging 15 points, 6 rebounds, and 7 assists per game. He was named 2nd team All-Onondaga High School League and was selected to the Zebra Classic. Jason was also an All-Central New York baseball player and is expected to start for the Lazers this spring. 7 #45 Matt Potter 2nd Year! South New Berlin 6 6 Forward! Unadilla Valley Background: Matt is one of Onondaga s tri-captains. Last season he played in 24 games, averaging 2.4 points and 1.8 rebounds and shooting 84.6% from the foul line. He had highs of 6 points and 5 rebounds, each on two occasions. Before Onondaga, Matt was an Honor Roll student at Unadilla Valley Central where he played basketball for coach Matt Osborne. As a junior he was a member of Unadilla Valley s Midstate Athletic Conference championship team, and as a senior he led the Storm with 12 points and 13 rebounds per contest. He was a 2nd team All-Conference selection, and was named to the Oneonta Daily Star All-Star 1st Team. Parents: George & Michelle Potter Major: Mechanical Technology Academic Goal: Get my degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology Athletic Goal: Move on to play at a 4 year school after OCC Most Memorable Athletic Moment: When we almost beat the number 1 team in the state (Candor) in the sectional semifinals Person You Respect and Admire Most in Sports, and Why: Dwight Howard because he is a beast. Syracuse 6 3 Guard/Forward! West Genesee Background: Dan played in 11 games last year, scoring a high of 5 points against North Country. He came to Onondaga as a transfer from the University of Buffalo. Dan is a 2006 graduate of West Genesee High School, where he was an Honor Roll student and played varsity basketball for coach Steve Dunham. At West Genesee, Dan was a teammate of former Lazers Tim Scholz and Shane Williams. 8 #24 Eldar Kadic 1st Year! Liverpool 6 1 Guard! Liverpool Background: Eldar was a redshirt on last year s team. He is also an outstanding student and has been inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa honor society. Eldar is originally from Zvornik, Bosnia, and came to Onondaga by way of Liverpool High School, where he was an honors student. He has played in many area youth and adult leagues. Parents: Nurdin & Jasmina Kadic Major: Business Administration! Academic Goal: 4-year degree Athletic Goal: Become a better player. Favorite TV Show: That 70 s Show" Favorite Musical Performer: Edo Maajka Person You Respect and Admire Most in Sports, and Why: My father - he showed me how to play basketball. Favorite Activity Outside of Basketball: Sleep #31 Eric Ball 1st Year! East Syracuse 6 2 Forward! Bishop Grimes Background: Eric was a 4-year varsity performer for coach Jamie Evans at Bishop Grimes High School who scored 1,002 points in his high school career. He was named 9th team All-State in Class B, honorable mention All-Central New York, and was a twotime 1st team All-Onondaga High School League Liberty Division selection. He averaged 19.2 points and 10.0 rebounds per game as a senior in leading Bishop Grimes to the Section III Class B-1 championship. Parents: Jerry Ball & Kim Ball Major: Business Administration! Academic Goal: Go on to a four year school! Athletic Goal: Play at a four year school Most Memorable Athletic Moment: Sectionals my senior year Person You Respect and Admire Most in Sports, and Why: My mother she was one of the first women to get a scholarship to play college basketball from this area and she still plays basketball today Favorite TV Show: ESPN! Favorite Musical Performer: Lil Wayne! Favorite Activity Outside of Basketball: Xbox360 #43 Justin Ballin 1st Year! Norwich 6 3 Forward! Norwich Background: Justin comes to Onondaga from Norwich High School, where he averaged 4.1 points per game coach Mark Abbott, and helped lead the Tornado to a 14-6 record and a berth in the Section IV Class A semi-finals. He was also a member of the Norwich football team. Parent: Tina Ballin Major: Criminal Justice Academic Goal: Leave here with at least a 3.0 gpa and graduate from a 4-year school. Athletic Goal: Play at a 4-year college. Most Memorable Athletic Moment: Game winning TD catch Person You Respect and Admire Most in Sports, and Why: Mark Abbott because he has been a big influence in my life and helped make me who I am today. 9 #12 Zach Chawgo 1st Year! LaFayette 6 2 Guard! LaFayette Background: Zach played for coach Jerry Kelly at LaFayette Central. He averaged 14.2 points per game and was named a 1st team All-Onondaga High School League Patriot American Division selection as a senior. As a junior, he helped lead the Lancers to the Section III Class C championship and the New York State Public High School Athletic Association quarter-finals. Zach was also a standout defenseman on LaFayette s state ranked lacrosse team, and is expected to play lacrosse at Onondaga this spring. Parents: Rick Storrier & Kim Chawgo Major: General Studies! Academic & Athletic Goal: To attend a four year school! Most Memorable Athletic Moment: Winning sectionals my Jr. year Person You Respect and Admire Most in Sports, and Why: My father because he has taught me so much and how to respect others on and off the court.! Favorite TV Show: Family Guy, ESPN! Favorite Musical Performer: Lil' Wayne Favorite Activity Outside of Basketball: Doing anything outside on a nice day. #15 Ryan Ellis 1st Year! Seneca Falls 5 9 Guard! Mynderse Academy Background: Ryan comes to Onondaga from Mynderse Academy in Seneca Falls, where he played basketball for coach Mike Fields. At Mynderse, he averaged 11.8 points, 6.9 assists, and 5.2 rebounds per game and was named team Most Valuable Player. Ryan led his team to the Section V Class B championship game and the Finger Lakes East II Division championship and was named to the sectional All-Tournament Team. An all around athlete, Ryan also excelled in football and baseball at Mynderse. Parents: Stephen & Judy Ellis Major: Architectural Technology! Academic Goal: Graduate with 3.0 or Higher Athletic Goal: Help my teammates and myself be the best we can be and be successful in the regular season, and post season Most Memorable Athletic Moment: When I hit the game winning shot in the sectional semi-final against Wellsville to send us to our first sectional final berth in 10 years Person You Respect and Admire Most in Sports, and Why: All of the coaches I have had in the past because to pass the game onto us under such high expectations take a great deal of courage and perseverance Favorite TV Show: Entourage" Favorite Musical Performer: Angels & Airwaves Favorite Activity Outside of Basketball: Spending time with Friends and Family #20 Tyler Eustace 1st Year! Liverpool 6 4 Forward! Liverpool Background: Tyler is in his second year at Onondaga but his first as a member of the basketball program. He is a graduate of Liverpool High School and played CYO basketball for Immaculate Heart of Mary throughout his high school years. Parents: Scott & Sharyn Eustace Major: Childhood Education Academic Goal: 3.0 or better! Athletic Goal: Win Most Memorable Athletic Moment: Winning CYO championship Person You Respect and Admire Most in Sports, and Why: Michael Jordan - winner. Favorite TV Show: Buffalo Bills Games! Favorite Musical Performer: Lil Wayne, Jay-z, Kanye West Favorite Activity Outside of Basketball: Hanging out with friends 8

10 #5 Dave Foltz 1st Year! Auburn 5 8 Guard! Auburn Background: Dave played for coach Al Giannone at Auburn High School, where he led the Maroons to their first ever Central New York Counties League American Division title. In his 3-year varsity career, he was a 1st Team All-League selection once, a 2nd Team All-League pick twice, and team Most Valuable Player and leading scorer twice. In addition, he was a two-time selection to the Auburn Citizen All-Star Team and was named honorable mention All-Central New York once. He averaged 14.6 points and 6.0 assists for his career, and connected on 107 three-point goals. Parents: Bob & Loretta Foltz" Major: General Studies" Academic Goal: 3.0 Athletic Goal: Win NJCAA Championship! Most Memorable Athletic Moment: Beating F-M for league title in last game Person You Respect and Admire Most in Sports, and Why: Michael Jordan. He s the best player and no one worked harder. Favorite TV Show: SportsCenter" Favorite Musical Performer: Young Jeezy, Lil' Wayne, Dipset Favorite Activity Outside of Basketball: Playing Madden #11 Nate Foote 1st Year! Norwich 5 8 Guard! Norwich Background: Nate averaged 10 points and 5 assists for coach Mark Abbott at Norwich High School, and led his team to the Section IV Class A semi-finals. He was the team captain, was named honorable mention All Chenango County, and was a member of the Academic All-State Team. A talented multi-sport athlete, Nate was also a Southern Tier Athletic Conference All-League quarterback at Norwich. Parents: Russ & Cindy Foote! Major: Humanities! Academic Goal: Maintain a 3.2 GPA! Athletic Goal: Win a National Championship Most Memorable Athletic Moment: Going 15-6 my senior year in high school. Person You Respect and Admire Most in Sports, and Why: My coaches John Pluta and Mark Abbott for making me the player and the person that I am today.! Favorite TV Show: Family Guy, Sportscenter Favorite Musical Performer: Lil Wayne! Favorite Activity Outside of Basketball: Being with friends and family. #33 Dan Mabbett 1st Year! Mohawk 6 4 Center! Gregory B. Jarvis Background: Dan played at Gregory Jarvis High School in Mohawk for coach Luke Judd. He led his team to the Section III Class C-1 championship game and averaged 15.8 points, 10.6 rebounds, and 3.6 blocked shots per game for the Mohicans, earning a Center State Conference Division I 1st Team All-Conference selection. Dan was also a member of the track and field team, and is his school s record holder in the high jump. Parents: Daniel & Denise Mabbett! Major: Computer Information Systems Academic Goal: Graduate after 2 yrs w/ a 3.0 or higher, transfer to a four year school. Athletic Goal: To Win a Regional Title. Go to a four year college and continue to play. To improve my basketball ability and to compete at the level I can. To get the Most career blocked shots and rebounds. Most Memorable Athletic Moment: Playing with my team at the section III Class C-1 Championship game. Person You Respect and Admire Most in Sports, and Why: Patrick Ewing because he played the game the way it was supposed to be played and he also showed leadership. Favorite TV Show: ESPN/Sports Center! Favorite Musical Performer: T-Pain Favorite Activity Outside of Basketball: Playing golf, video games, and being with my family 9

11 #40 Josh Michlovitch 1st Year! Liverpool 5 10 Guard! Liverpool Background: Josh played for coach Jerry Wilcox at Liverpool High School. He averaged 2.9 points per game and helped lead the Warriors to a 16-6 record and the Section III Class AA quarter-finals.. Parents: David & Jonelle Michlovitch Major: Criminal Justice! Academic Goal: 90 s & above Athletic Goal: Win championship! Favorite Activity Outside of Basketball: Fishing Favorite TV Show: Family Guy! Favorite Musical Performer: Eminem Person You Respect and Admire Most in Sports, and Why: Michael Jordan, played with pride. Raffi Perry Redshirt! New Berlin 6 Guard! Unadilla Valley Background: Raffi was a 3-year varsity performer for coach Matt Osborne at Unadilla Valley Central, averaging 17.9 points per game being named team Most Valuable Player. He led the Storm to two Midstate Athletic Conference championships and was a 7th Team All-State selection in Class C. Raffi was a 1st Team Midstate Athletic Conference Division I All-Conference selection and was also named to the Oneonta Daily Star All-Star Team and the Norwich Evening Sun All-Star Team. Perry was a multisport athlete who is the all-time leading scorer for Unadilla Valley s soccer team and also competed on the golf team. Parents: Daniel & Maureen Perry! Major: Electronic Media Communications Academic Goal: To be successful with whatever I do so my family can live easy.! Athletic Goal: Go as far as I can with sports. Most Memorable Athletic Moment: When I scored 30 points in one half against Greene and made the winning shot. Person You Respect and Admire Most in Sports, and Why: Dustin Pedroia from the Red Sox. He s all-around good. Favorite TV Show: Rob & Big! Favorite Activity Outside of Basketball: Hanging out with my friends. #23 Brad Romancik 1st Year! LaFayette 6 1 Guard! LaFayette Background: Brad played for coach Jerry Kelly at LaFayette Central, where he was a two-time All-State selection, having been named to the 4th team in Class C as a senior and the 7th team as a junior. A three-year varsity performer, Brad was also a two-time 1st team All-Onondaga High School League Patriot American Division selection, and was named Division Most Valuable Player as a junior as he led the Lancers to the Section III Class C championship. He was also a two-time honorable mention All-Central New York selection. Brad was selected to receive the IAABO Board #38 scholarship, and was a standout member of LaFayette s state ranked lacrosse team.! Parents: Dave & Katey Romancik Major: Humanities! Academic Goal: Graduate from OCC with a GPA of 3.0 at least and move on to a four year college. Athletic Goal: To help my team in anyway I can and to move on in two years to play at a bigger college. Most Memorable Athletic Moment: Winning the Class C Section III Championship at Manley Field House (1st since 1973) Person You Respect and Admire Most in Sports, and Why: Jerry McNamara. I love the way he played basketball and was always working his hardest to help his team go as far as possible. He wasn't a selfish player and he was a great leader.. Favorite TV Show: Simpsons! 12 #25 Mike Sapp 1st Year! Geneva 5 11 Guard! Geneva Background: Before coming to Onondaga, Mike played his high school basketball for coach Jay Lauer at Geneva High School. He averaged 15 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game at Geneva Parents: Eugene & Carmen Sapp Major: Business Administration Academic Goal: Graduate with a 3.0 or higher. Athletic Goal: Reach my full potential and help my team become the best we can. Most Memorable Athletic Moment: When I played in the Rimrocker Tournament in NYC Person You Respect and Admire Most in Sports, and Why: Kobe Bryant because of his commitment and dedication. Favorite TV Show: Sportscenter! 13 Dave Pasiak! Head Coach! 9th Year! Waterville Clarkson University Background: Coach Pasiak has been involved in coaching basketball for the past 25 years. In 8 years at Onondaga, Coach Pasiak has compiled an overall record of His teams are in Mid-State Athletic Conference play, and against Region III Division III competition. The Lazers are the only Mid-State Conference school and are one of only three schools overall to have qualified for the Region III Tournament in each of the last 7 seasons. Onondaga is after January 1 during Coach Pasiak s tenure. Most importantly, all of his recruited players remained academically eligible and on track towards their degrees. Onondaga has not lost a recruited player to mid-season ineligibility since Coach Pasiak s arrival, and overall 98% of Onondaga players have remained academically eligible. Also, since arriving at Onondaga 8 years ago, 31 former Lazers have moved on to play at Division I, II, and III four-year schools. He has produced 2 All-Americans, 2 Academic All-Americans, 4 pre-season All- Americans, 14 All-Region players, 2 conference Players of the Year, and 14 All-Conference players in 8 years. Last season, Coach Pasiak guided the Lazers to the Mid-State Athletic Conference regular season co-championship, and a place in the conference championship game. In the process, he became Onondaga s all-time coaching victory leader, passing Hank Fengler, who directed Onondaga from 1977 to 1983 and from 1987 to He was also recognized with his 3rd Mid- State Athletic Conference Coach of the Year award. The Lazers qualified for the NJCAA Region III Division III Tournament for the 7th consecutive season, the longest streak among Mid-State schools, and the 3rd longest streak in the entire region. In , Coach Pasiak directed Onondaga to its first Mid-State Athletic Conference championship in 15 years. The Lazers also captured the regular season conference championship, and received the #3 seed in the NJCAA Region III Division III Tournament. The Lazers ranked 5th nationally in scoring offense that season, marking 7 consecutive years that they had been among the top 10 scoring teams in the nation. Coach Pasiak is a three-time Mid-State Athletic Conference Coach of the Year. having been selected for the honor in 2002, 2003, and In addition, he was named the Region III Coach of the Year for In that season, the Lazers finished with an overall record of 23-7, the 2nd best ever at Onondaga. The team also had a regular season mark of 23-5, the best ever at the school, had a school record 14 game winning streak, and was ranked in the NJCAA national poll for 5 weeks. The Lazers have qualified for the Mid-State Athletic Conference Tournament 7 times in Coach Pasiak s 8 years, and have reached the Championship game 3 times, including last year s title win. The Lazers were also the top scoring team in the country in , when they averaged 98.6 points per game. Previously, Coach Pasiak served as the head coach at Herkimer County Community College for 2 years, from 1991 to He also served for 2 seasons as an assistant under the late Jack Bruen at Colgate University, a Division I institution in Hamilton, NY. In addition, he served 4 seasons as an assistant at Division III Utica College in Utica, NY, and has coached at several high schools in Central New York. Immediately prior to coming to Onondaga, he was the Athletic Director at Frankfort-Schuyler Central School, in Frankfort, NY. Coach Pasiak is a 1984 graduate of Clarkson University, where he played on the basketball team. In addition to coaching the Lazers, he also serves as Athletics & Intramurals Coordinator at Onondaga. He is currently the head coach of the Central Region Empire State Games open men s basketball team, leading that team to a bronze medal in 2008, their first medal in 5 years. He has been a featured speaker and staff member at many of the top basketball camps in the northeast. He is actively involved In Coaches vs. Cancer and serves on the Board of Directors for the Basketball Coaches Association of New York. 14 Johnny Davis Assistant Coach! 7th Year! Syracuse! SUNY Cortland Background: Coach Davis is entering his 7th season with the Lazers. Prior to coming to Onondaga, he coached 15 years at Onondaga Central High School, serving as the Assistant Varsity and Head JV Basketball Coach under coach Larry Behm. During that time, he helped the Tigers to 6 league and 2 sectional titles. Coach Davis is a graduate of Nottingham High School and SUNY Cortland, where he played basketball and earned a Bachelor s degree in Political Science. He also holds a Masters Degree from the Syracuse University Maxwell School of Public Administration. Coach Davis is presently employed as an Affirmative Action Administrator by the Central New York Developmental Disabilities Services Office; New York State Office of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities. Scott Blair Assistant Coach! 3rd Year! Syracuse! Kutztown University Background: Coach Blair enters his 3rd season with Onondaga. He came to the Lazers from NCAA Division II, Kutztown University of Pennsylvania. While at KU, Coach Blair worked as an assistant under Coach Bernie Driscoll for the season and as an intern during the campaign, a season which saw the Golden Bears ranked as high as 17th in the nation. The team finished and in Coach Blair s two seasons, qualifying for the PSAC Conference playoffs each year. Blair began his coaching career at Kutztown Area High School from 2001 until 2005 as an Assistant Varsity Coach under Coach Kevin Foley. His last season with the Cougars saw the varsity program finish with a 19-7 record and qualify for the PIAA District III Quarterfinals. Coach Blair received his Bachelor's degree in Education and Masters of Education from Kutztown University. He currently works at SUNY-ESF as their Coordinator for Academic Support Services and lives in Syracuse with his wife, Katie. John Burns Assistant Coach! 2nd Year! Oswego SUNY Oswego Background: Coach Burns returns to Onondaga for his second stint as an assistant. He was a part of the Lazers staff in , a season which saw Onondaga post a record, compete in the Region III Tournament, and finish second in the country in scoring offense. Coach Burns was also a member of Onondaga s team which posted the best regular season record and the second best overall record in the history of the college. After completing his degree at Onondaga, Coach Burns finished his Bachelor s degree at SUNY Oswego and served as an assistant coach at Oswego High School. Coach Burns is also a graduate of Mexico high school, where he was an All- Star guard for coach Paul Callaghan. He is currently employed by American Airlines. 13

On Saturday, each team will have three games in pool play On Sunday, teams will be bracketed and compete for the shootout championship. Games: Games will consist of two 16 minute halves - stopped clock, not running time! Every game will be officiated by certified officials. Three minute halftime, at least 5 minutes pregame, two 30 second timeouts per game. Except for the above modifications, National Federation rules will be used.
