1 NYS NEVADA 11 MAN FALL 2017 WEEK EIGHT PREVIEWS *Editors Note: Remember our Reviews & Previews are just for fun. If we misspell a player s name or get a fact wrong no need to fire off an angry or Facebook post. We will try our best to get the facts right. Remember that due to the size of the league, we may not review/preview every game, every week. We will make sure we get to every team throughout the season. In the meantime, enjoy the season. Henderson Cowboys (6-0) VS Western Ducks (5-2) 7U Weighted Where: Western High School In the final weekend of the regular season, the Henderson Cowboys travel to Western High School to take on the Western Ducks. These two teams are both heading to the playoffs, but their seeds are certainly not yet decided. The Henderson Cowboys will be riding into this game in search of a perfect regular season behind the stellar play of Caleb Ramalia and Judson Warner. The Ducks meanwhile will be getting the divisions extra game, and try and take advantage of the extra work! They will turn to Braylon Burnett and Emari Richard to power them to a big victory over the Cowboys. Las Vegas Aces (1-5) VS Spring Valley Jr. Grizzlies (1-5) 7U Weighted The Las Vegas Aces travel to Spring Valley High School to play a hand against the Grizzlies in what should be a regular season finale this weekend. While neither team can make the playoffs, these two teams will be working to continue improving in this regular season finale. The Aces will try and turn to Darius McGee and Jamari Gunter to power them to their 2 nd victory of the young season. The Grizzlies meanwhile have really started to claw back in an impressive way here at the end of the season. They will turn to Benjamin McCauley and Victor Olivares to try and lead this team to their 2 nd win of the season. Green Valley Knights (1-5) VS Mojave Green Machine (0-6) 7U Weighted The Green Valley Knights travel out to Mojave High School to see if they can lance the Green Machine s gas tank in what should be an exciting matchup. The Green Valley Knights have shown a ton of improvement thus far this season, and will look to finish the regular season with a 2 nd victory. To do so, they will try and turn to Caden Cadaval and Maleko Fanco to power them to the winner s circle. The Green Machine meanwhile will be looking to fuel up as they try and have a full tank for this matchup with the Knights. They will try and come up with their first victory of the season in this finale behind the play of Jamel Everette and Destiny Felton. Las Vegas Wolverines (3-3) VS Arbor View Aggies (3-3) 7U Weighted
2 Where: Rancho High School The Las Vegas Wolverines and Arbor View Jr. Aggies face off in what should be an exciting matchup with major playoff implications here in the final Saturday of the regular season here in the 7U Weighted. A win would guarantee a playoff spot while the loser of this game will end up in a multi way tie and be at the mercy of a crazy tie breaker scenario. In order to come out with the victory, the Wolverines will turn to Karah Foss and Darren Reynolds to try and lead them to the playoffs. The Aggies meanwhile will be turning to Christian Kirkpatrick and Drew Gatewood to lead them to a huge victory this weekend and send the Aggies faithful into the playoffs. Bishop Gorman Gators (6-0) VS Las Vegas Sun Devils (6-0) 7U Weighted When: 3:15 PM The Bishop Gorman Gators and Las Vegas Sun Devils will be facing off in what should be one of the most exciting 7U Weighted games of the season. This game will be a prime-time possible playoff preview as both teams enter with perfect records. The winner of this contest will not only end the regular season undefeated, but also have the inside track at the top spot in the division. While the team that loses this one won t fall too far down, it s a big game none the less. The Gators will be turning to Gourney Childs and Ujani Ross to try and lead them as they try and chomp down on the Sun Devils in this matchup. The Sun Devils meanwhile will be trying to head things up on the Gators behind the stellar play of Keenan Thomas and Jaelynn Love. Expect a thriller here in this 7U Weighted matchup! #6 Las Vegas Badgers (4-3) VS # ers (5-2) - 8U Where: Sierra Vista High School The Las Vegas Badgers and ers square off in a first round playoff game that should be very exciting this weekend. These two teams squared off back on September 30 th in a matchup that was a thriller the 49ers won by a score of Both these teams have come a long way since then however, so expect another excellent matchup this weekend at Sierra Vista High School. In this matchup, the Badgers will be turning to Isaiah Romero & Felix Romero to power them victory and into the semifinals. The ers meanwhile come in as the 3 seed and very high expectations here in the playoffs. They will be turning to their leaders, Christopher Leuma and Mathyas Olive to lead them to the gold. #8 Las Vegas Elite Wildcats (2-5) VS #1 Las Vegas Thunderbirds (7-0) 8U Where: Western High School The Las Vegas Elite Wildcats travel to Western High School to take on the Thunderbirds in an 8 vs. 1 matchup. These two teams didn t face off during the regular season, so there will be a bit of discovery here in this matchup. The Las Vegas Wildcats got into the playoffs thanks to a pair of victories, pushing them just in. The Wildcats however will look to land on a huge playoff upset behind the stellar play of Charles McCloud and Alijah Johnson. The Thunderbirds have rolled through a tremendous season. They finished a perfect 7-0 and looked tremendous doing so. They will look to start a playoff run behind the play of Jerome
3 Sequeira and Eric McFarland. This team has high expectations, but shouldn t overlook the Wildcats this weekend. #7 Arbor View Jr. Aggies (4-3) VS #2 Las Vegas Sun Devils (6-1) 8U Where: Rancho High School When: 3:15 PM The Arbor View Aggies and Las Vegas Sun Devils will try and heat things up at Rancho High School this weekend in what should be an exciting matchup. The Aggies come into this matchup as the #7 seed, but are a 7 seed that finished the regular season above.500. When these two teams faced off earlier in the season, the Sun Devils won by a score of The Aggies will try and flip the script behind the leadership of Rhys Riggs and Jakai Woods. The Sun Devils will try to heat things up on the Aggies yet again in this matchup behind the strong play of Antonio Spann and Darnell Crockett as they look to start a playoff run for the ages this weekend. Henderson Cowboys (4-2) VS Spring Valley Jr. Grizzlies (4-2) 8U When: 3:15 PM The Henderson Cowboys and Spring Valley Grizzlies will face off in the 1 st of two matchups between these two teams this weekend. The Saturday matchup will be a regular season showdown to finish out the regular season. Either way these two teams will be playing again in a playoff game on Monday night as no matter the result of this Saturday game, they will face off as a 4 seed vs. a 5 seed. This game does have meaning however, as the winner earns the #4 seed and will get to be the home team. To come out with the victory, the Henderson Cowboys will turn to Jacob Fotu and Alexander Oiva to push them to victory. The Grizzlies meanwhile will try and claw their way to victory behind the strong play of Darian Abella and Demier Zamora who they hope can push them to the winner s circle. #5 Southern Highlands Jr. Rebels (1-6) VS #4 Las Vegas Aces (3-4) 9U Weighted Where: Sierra Vista High School The Southern Highlands Jr. Rebels will look to challenge the Las Vegas Aces at Sierra Vista High School in what should be an exciting first round playoff matchup. The Rebels and Aces squared off earlier in the season in a matchup that saw the Aces win by a score of The Rebels however will try and flip the script in this playoff game behind the strong play of Jordan Villages and Elyjah Cobwell. The Aces meanwhile will try and gear up for a big hand this weekend thanks to the leadership of Nathan Fletcher and Jordan Pickard. #6 Henderson LV Raiders (0-6) VS #3 Pahrump Trojans (4-3) 9U Weighted Where: Liberty High School The Henderson Raiders and Pahrump Trojans face off in what should be a very exciting first round playoff matchup this weekend at Liberty High School. Despite not coming out with a victory just yet this season, the Raiders have shown tremendous improvement all season long, especially on the defensive end highlighted last weekend when they didn t allow a point to the Aces offense last weekend. The Raiders will turn to Derek Burton and Sonny Uranich to try and jump start this offense this Saturday afternoon. The Pahrump Trojans
4 meanwhile have had a solid season, rolling into the #3 seed. They Trojans will try and lean on the leadership of Kayne Horibe and Ashton McClard this weekend as they try and advance into the semifinals with a victory. #5 Las Vegas Pirates (3-4) VS #4 Henderson Cowboys (3-4) 10U D1 Where: Western High School The Las Vegas Pirates and Henderson Cowboys will face off in a first round playoff matchup that should be very exciting. These two teams played recently back on October 14 th in a matchup that the Henderson Cowboys won by a score of These two teams have really excelled on defense, so expect this game to be low scoring. The Pirates will try and plunder and pillage their way to victory behind the play of Dino Roberts and Gavin Day. The Henderson Cowboys will try and get back in the saddle and start a playoff run of their own behind the play of D Angelo Hagans and Cole Nielson. #6 Bishop Gorman Gators (3-4) VS #3 Las Vegas Gladiators (4-3) 10U D1 Where: Sierra Vista High School The Bishop Gorman Gators and Las Vegas Gladiators face off in what should be an exciting first round playoff matchup. The Gators will be trying to chomp down on a victory behind the play of Javaun Lewis and Lewis Davis who have been stellar all-season long as a tremendous offensive duo. The Las Vegas Gladiators meanwhile will try and turn to Myles Baker and Derrick Page as they charge the field in search of a big first round playoff victory. In the regular season matchup between these two teams, the Gladiators won by a score of Will the result be the same again this weekend or will the Gators be able to swim upstream and pull off the upset? Head to Sierra Vista High School to find out the result of this exciting first round matchup. Anthem Cougars (0-6) VS Arbor View Jr. Aggies (1-5) 10U 2 Where: Rancho High School The Anthem Cougars and Arbor View Aggies each look to finish out the regular season with a big victory. The Anthem Cougars have been fighting hard all season long despite being very short handed. The Cougars will turn to Tyler Woolstenhulme and Joshua James as they try and land on their feet with a big win this weekend. The Arbor View Jr. Aggies meanwhile will be looking to finish the regular season strong as well. They will be turning to Gregory Chadwick and Deacon Pickett as they look for another victory. Las Vegas Aces (1-5) VS Spring Valley Jr. Grizzlies (4-2) 10U 2 The Las Vegas Aces and Spring Valley Jr. Grizzlies will look to finish out the regular season in search of different things. While the Aces won t be making the playoffs, they are looking to finish strong with one more win. They will be turning to Javion Gunter and Jaydan Edwards to try and fold the Grizzlies this weekend. The Grizzlies meanwhile are guaranteed a playoff spot, but want to improve their seeding and get ready for the playoffs with a big win this Saturday morning. The Grizzlies will look to the leadership of Gavin Winterrowd and Devon Rushing to claw their way to victory.
5 Desert Oasis Jr. Diamondbacks (4-2) VS Mojave Green Machine (3-2) 10U 2 The Desert Oasis Jr. Diamondbacks and Mojave Green Machine are looking to push their way to another win here in the final weekend of the regular season as they each look to enter the playoffs on a high note. These two teams from the opposite sides of Las Vegas, will be coming together for what should be an exciting game. The Diamondbacks have been on quite a good run this season, but will be pushing hard for one more victory to finish the regular season strong. They will turn to Treven Eddington and Bishop Allen to help lead this team to what would be a huge win for playoff seeding. The Green Machine meanwhile are also on a nice little run. They hope to be fully fueled up for a playoff push. They will turn to Jaydan Garcia and Dennis Felton to help them find the winners circle on their home field this weekend. Las Vegas Ravens (6-0) VS Las Vegas Sun Devils (7-0) 10U 2 In what might be the most highly anticipated matchup of the weekend, the Las Vegas Ravens will challenge the Las Vegas Sun Devils in a battle of unbeaten teams. Both teams have had tremendous seasons, and look to make another statement with a victory here in the regular season finale. The Ravens earned a major statement victory with a win over the Western Ducks last time out. They will turn to Donovan Smith and Gregory Burrell to try and flap their way to victory. The Las Vegas Sun Devils meanwhile have earned a few exciting victories this season including a win a few weeks back over the Las Vegas Gladiators, but this team will be looking to earn one bigger win on Saturday. The Sun Devils will be trying to lean on Tysean McCraney and Ray Sean Fails to heat things up this Saturday as they try and ground the Ravens at Del Sol High School. #6 Shadow Ridge Mustangs (1-6) VS #3 Pahrump Trojans (5-2) 11U Weighted When: Liberty High School The Shadow Ridge Mustangs will face off with the Pahrump Trojans for the 3 rd time this season. The Trojans won both of those games via the shutout, including a 35-0 victory last weekend. These two teams will do it again here in the first round of the playoffs in the 11U Weighted. The Mustangs are going to try and buck out an upset with behind the stellar play of Enius Young and Aiden Cole. The Trojans Meanwhile will be turning to Brennen Bennedict and Gunners Cortez to power them to a first round playoff win this weekend at Liberty High School. #5 Moapa Valley Pirates (3-4) VS TMT Red Lions (3-4) 11U Weighted When: 3:15 PM The Moapa Valley Pirates will travel to Mojave High School to take on the Red Lions in what should be an exciting first round playoff matchup. The Pirates and Red Lions played in a thriller of a game a few weeks back that the Red Lions won thanks to a big 4 th quarter push. The Pirates will be hoping their sails catch the wind this weekend as they search for a playoff victory. They will turn to Degan Jones and Shandon Matheson to try and power their
6 way past the Red Lions this weekend. The Red Lions meanwhile will be trying to tame the Pirates this weekend for a playoff victory. The Red Lions have had a strong year, but are hungry for more and a playoff win would certainly be more. They will be turning to Tarrance Gibbs and Elijah Redic as they try and earn the win this weekend. #5 Western Ducks (4-3) VS #4 Henderson Cowboys (4-3) 12U D1 Where: Western High School The Henderson Cowboys and Western Ducks kick off the playoffs with what should be a very exciting playoff matchup at Western High School. These teams played very early in the season on the 2 nd weekend of the regular season. The Henderson Cowboys won that game by a score of 32-6 and will look to repeat that performance this weekend. The Ducks meanwhile will try and take flight and flip the script this weekend. If they are going to do so, they will be looking to Jacob Boice and Blair Thayer to help them earn a big first round playoff victory. The Henderson Cowboys meanwhile will be looking to get in the saddle again as they try and start a playoff push of their own. They will be turning to Kayl Mack and Jayven Perez to help brandish their star and earn that big win on Saturday. #6 Las Vegas Bengals (2-5) VS #3 Henderson Bearcats (5-2) 12U D1 Where: Liberty High School The Las Vegas Bengals will try and pull off an upset over the Henderson Bearcats this weekend when these two teams square off at Liberty High School. This battle of the cats should be very exciting as both teams hope to start a playoff run with a first round victory. The Bengals will be looking to earn their stripes behind the leadership of Da Mari Washington and Nick Martakis. The Bearcats meanwhile as a group haven t lost a playoff game in some time. This Bearcats team will certainly have to be on their game if they want to maintain their crown. They will turn to the combination of Bryson and Brandon Tunnell to try and lead them this Saturday at Liberty High School in what should be an exciting matchup. Southern Highlands Jr. Rebels (2-4) VS Las Vegas Red Eagles (2-4) 12U 2 Where: Liberty High School The Southern Highlands Jr. Rebels and Las Vegas Red Eagles look to finish out the regular season with what would be a huge victory for either team. Both teams have a shot at the playoffs if they can earn a victory in their respective regular season finales. The Rebels come in exciting to get a little rebellious and will turn to Jabari Page and Julian King to try and lead them to the playoffs. The Red Eagles meanwhile will try and soar to new heights with a victory this weekend. They will turn to Kysean Daniels and Christian Thatcher to rush this team into the playoffs. Centennial Jr. Bulldogs (1-5) VS Mojave Green Machine (1-5) 12U 2 The Centennial Jr. Bulldogs and Mojave Green Machine play in a matchup of North Las Vegas feeder teams. These two area rivals will take to the field on Saturday morning looking to figure out the regular season on a high note with one more victory. The Bulldogs
7 will try and turn to Victor Plotnikov and Logan Weimer to try and bark this team to victory. The Green Machine meanwhile will be fully fueled for this matchup as they try and earn a big victory on their home field. The Green Machine will turn to Davion Callahan and Xzavier Rayford to try and race this team to a victory over the Bulldogs. Anthem Cougars (1-5) VS Arbor View Jr. Aggies (2-4) 12U 2 Where: Rancho High School The Anthem Cougars and Arbor View Jr. Aggies finish out the regular season in what should be an exciting cross-town matchup at Rancho High School this Saturday morning. The Cougars rushing offense has just started to click of late, and this team while they won t be making the playoffs, has made great strides and shows tremendous promise for the future. Led by stars like Jameson Vaden and Santana Estrada, this team will try and spoil the Aggies shot at making the playoffs. The Aggies meanwhile have a shot at the playoffs if they can come out with the victory. It may come down to a tie breaker or two, but the first step for these Aggies is to come out the victory this weekend. In order to do so, the Aggies will turn to James Hadley and Coen Coloma to do just that at Rancho High School this Saturday. Toros Football (6-0) VS Las Vegas Sun Devils (6-0) 12U 2 Talk about your exciting matchups to finish out the regular season. Both the Toros and Sun Devils come into this regular season finale a perfect 6-0. Only one of these teams can finish the regular season a perfect 7-0 however, so expect these two teams to be on their game this weekend as they try and secure a perfect season. The Toros will turn to Gunnar Myro and Andre Cade to try and bull their way to victory over the Sun Devils. The Sun Devils meanwhile will try and get their pitch forks ready as they aim to corral the Trors. If the Sun Devils can do that, it will be because of the stellar play of Quinten Larry and Jarius Jackson. Las Vegas Aces (2-4) VS Spring Valley Jr. Grizzlies (0-6) 12U 2 The Las Vegas Aces and Spring Valley Jr. Grizzlies look to finish out the regular season with one more victory. The Las Vegas Aces have a shot at the playoffs with the win, but will need the win and a little help from a few other teams to secure a playoff spot. The Aces will be turning to Kaleo Babauta and Kvon Richardson to power their way to the playoffs as they try and fold the Grizzlies this weekend. The Grizzlies meanwhile haven t yet found the win column this season, but havecertainly played hard in every matchup. They will look to Kaleb Alejandro and Saveon McCrimon to try and claw their way to a win. #6 Del Sol Wolverines (3-4) VS #3 Faith Lutheran Crusaders (5-2) 13 Weighted The Del Sol Wolverines and Faith Lutheran Crusaders face off in an exciting first round playoff showdown. The Del Sol Wolverines are a team that have certainly come on strong of late, highlighted by their season ending victory over the Diamondbacks in the final weekend of the regular season. The Wolverines have really started to play better of late,
8 especially as the passing game thanks to the strong arm of Vince Marcione. Marcione will look to hook up with his top receivers like Dominick Oliver and Da Ron Reeves as they try and pass their way to victory. The Faith Lutheran Crusaders meanwhile have been able to throw the ball very effectively as well this season. Led by quarterback Nicholas Crowell, top wide receiver Andrew Garofalo, and running back Ryder Steigerwald, this team really knows how to put points on the scoreboard. This should be a tremendous matchup on Saturday afternoon between Wolverines and Crusaders, so don t miss this first round playoff matchup. #5 Shadow Ridge Mustangs (4-3) VS #4 Spring Valley Jr. Grizzlies (4-3) 13U Weighted The Shadow Ridge Mustangs and Spring Valley Grizzlies finished their regular season with identical records, leading to what should be a very exciting 4 vs. 5 matchup this weekend at Spring Valley High School. The Mustangs and Grizzlies faced off earlier in the season in a matchup the Grizziles won by a score of Both teams have grown quite a bit in the month since that matchup, so expect an exciting matchup this weekend. If the Mustangs are going to get on their horses and come out with a victory, they will need a big game out of Jaquize Holland and Tate Horlacher who have been quite the team on the ground as ball carriers. The Spring Valley Jr. Grizzlies meanwhile found their stride in a big way in that victory over the Mustangs. That was the first of 4 straight victories that this Grizzlies team earned here entering the playoffs as this team is on quite the roll of late! The Grizzlies will try and turn to Nikitia McCrimona nd Tra jean Evans this weekend to keep the win streak alive and put this team into the semifinals. #7 Desert Oasis Jr. Diamondbacks (2-5) VS #2 Pahrump Warriors (6-1) 13U Weighted The Desert Oasis Jr. Diamondbacks and Pahrump Warriors face off in a 13U Weighted first round playoff matchup at Mojave High School. The Diamondbacks come in trying to snake bite a Warriors team that has been on quite the roll this season, leading them to the #2 seed heading into the playoffs. The Diamondbacks played hard all season long, led by Josiah Edwards and Braedan Piotrowski, this team will try and come out with an upset victory over the Warriors. The Warriors meanwhile have been stellar all season long, falling just one time all season long. Led by Henry Amaya and Syblue Glisson, this team can really put points up on the scoreboard. Way back in the 2 nd weekend of the season, these two teams faced off at Desert Oasis High School in a game that the Warriors won by a score of Will the formula be the same for the Warriors this weekend, or will the Diamondbacks recoil and find their stride on Saturday? Toros (3-3) VS Henderson LV Raiders (1-5) 14U The Toros and Henderson Raiders will be looking to finish out the regular season with a big win this weekend. The Toros will be incredibly hungry this weekend as a victory guarantees them a playoff spot while a loss puts them in major jeopardy of missing out on the dance. In order to secure that victory, the Toros will turn to Gavin Thammavongsa and Joseph Kuykendall to lead the way. The Henderson LV Raiders meanwhile earned their first victory
9 of the season last weekend, and will be looking to build on that win. They will try and continue to work their way to another win behind the play of Chace Ciska and Jaheem Anderson. Las Vegas Aces (4-2) VS Henderson Falcons (3-3) 14U Where: Sierra Vista High School The Las Vegas Aces and Henderson Falcons are both going to be searching for a win this weekend as a victory would guarantee each team a spot in the playoffs. The Aces come in with a 4-2 record, but want to move up the standings with another win. The Aces will be turning to Edward Rhambo and Jeramiah Nichols to help them fold the Falcons in this matchup. The Falcons meanwhile will be looking to take flight yet again as they have the last 3 weekends as this teams have really started to soar here of late. In order to soar again this weekend, the Falcons will turn to Sebastian Holguin and Conner Johnson to lead them to the playoffs with a win in this showdown. Centennial Jr. Bulldogs (1-6) VS Arbor View Jr. Aggies (2-4) 14U Where: Rancho High School The Centennial Jr. Bulldogs and Arbor View Aggies face off in what should be an exciting 14U showdown between a pair of North Las Vegas rivals. The Bulldogs are looking for one more win here to end the season, but wins are always sweeter when they come against rivals. The Bulldogs will be looking to bark and growl their way past the Aggies behind the stellar play of leaders like Aiden Dunn and Justin Melson. The Aggies meanwhile will push for their 3 rd win of the season behind the play of Steven Tiscareno and Bryce Erickson, but it may take a full team effort for this Aggies squad. Many of these kids will be playing for the big HS teams next season, so expect a spirited game this weekend.
