1 NCAA Certification Process REQUIRED For Teams Ages Thank you for your interest in Big Shots NCAA Certified July events! The July events are focused on maximum exposure to college coaches and player recruitment. Last year over 500 college coaches attended Big Shots Myrtle Beach events alone. All Big Shots July events will be well attended by all levels of colleges and universities. To that end it is absolutely necessary that all NCAA rules are complied with by all participating teams, coaches and players. Big Shots has assembled this sheet to assist in100% compliant with all NCAA rules. ALL grassroots coaches that want to coach on the bench MUST be NCAA certified, there are no exceptions to this NCAA rule. If you are a coach and have not completed the certification process it is extremely important that this process is completed ASAP because there is delay of 3-7 business days for the NCAA to turn around your application. 2 To begin the process the head coach or administrator of the program must create a NCAA account. To create your team s account go to the following link: the following screen will be displayed. 1. To create a new account click here 2. Returning coaches please login here If your team has played in NCAA certified events in the past then you already have an account username and password. Please use this username and password to complete this year s information. If you do not remember your username or password use the Recover User Name and Password button to retrieve it. ALL COACHES SHOULD BRING THEIR USERNAME AND PASSWORD WITH THEM TO THE EVENTS THEY PARTICIPATE. This is because in some cases last minute adjustments in your information are required so you are 100% compliant with NCAA rules. To begin, please login to the NCAA system by either entering your user name and password or creating a new account. 1. To create a new account begin by clicking on the button New Activity Operator or Coach located directly about the *User Name field. 2. For returning coaches or administrators please login here. 3 For those of you who clicked on the New Activity Operator or Coach you will be taken automatically to the screen below. Please complete as much of the information as you can; the fields with * besides them are required for you to create and save your account. Just below the visible part of the screen shot below you will be asked to create your user name and password. Write this information down and make sure all of your coaches are aware of what the user name and password is, again BRING IT WITH YOU TO THE EVENT. YOU MAY ENCOUNTER FIELDS THAT ARE DEEMED NOT REQUIRED THIS ONLY MEANS THAT THE INFORMATION IS NOT REQUIRED AT THIS TIME TO SAVE THE RECORD. YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO ENTER THIS DATA LATER AND PRIOR TO THE EVENT, SPECIFICALLY COACHES NCAA CERTIFIATION NUMBER. Copyright 2011 Big Shots Page 3 of 13 6/10/11

5 6. After you click on the Coach button you will be taken to the Coach Amin Main Page. To begin the coach s certification process click on the hotlink circled below. 7. Create your team(s) by clicking on the Create Team button. After clicking on the Create Team Button you will be taken to the Create Team by Admin page. 6 After saving your newly created team you will be re-directed to the Team Summary for Coach Admin page. From the Team Summary for Coach Admin page you will be able to complete the follow required data entry tasks. 8. Edit your team 9. Enter team sponsorship information if applicable 10. Enter your coaches information 11. Enter your team s athletes (page 7) 12. Enter or Opt into the NCAA Certified events your team is planning on playing in (page 7) 8. Edit Team information 9. 8 After clicking on the Add Coach button you will be re-directed to the Add Coach by Coach Admin page. Please complete the requested information in its entirety. 9 11. Add your roster to the NCAA site by clicking on the Team Summary for Coach Admin page. You will automatically be re-directed to the Team Athlete List for Coach Admin page. 11. 10 11b. After clicking on the Add Athlete button you will automatically be redirected to the Add Team Athlete by Coach Admin page. Please complete ALL of the requested information on this form. This information will be part of the College Coaches packages. EVERY ATHLETE MUST HAVE THEIR OWN STREET ADDRESS AND PHONE NUMBER. DUPLICATE ADDRESS AND PHONE NUMBERS ARE NOT ALLOWED WITH THE EXCEPTIONS OF BROTHERS. Your team will NOT be permitted to play until ALL of this information is compliant with NCAA rules, again ABSOLUTELY no exceptions. You may have up to (3) out of state players BUT those players MUST be from a State the borders the home State of the Team. The player must have established residency for (1) year at the address submitted. For example a player who is on summer vacation in your State is NO eligible to play unless his permanent address is in a State that borders your State. 11 12. Entering or Opting into those NCAA events your team plans to play in. From the Team Summary for Coach Admin page begin by clicking on the Edit Team Events button located in the Team Events section of the page. By clicking on the Edit Team Events button you will be automatically re-directed to the Team Events List for Coach Admin page (see page 12). 12. 12 13. Opt into the events you plan on playing in by selecting them from the list. All NCAA certified events are listed. They are arranged by date. Each July event is essentially two tournaments combined. There is a Slam event and the regular event. If you are not sure which event to Opt into please Harry Gillung at harry@bigshots.net for assistance. 13.
