6 2013/14 Hall of Fame Inductee Rick Conner Linganore A graduate from Western Maryland (now McDaniel College) in 1984, Rick started his career as a Graduate Assistant until In 1987, Rick started his teaching and coaching career as a Physical Education Teacher, Head Coach, Varsity Football, Swimming, and Track & Field at Brunswick High School in Frederick County Maryland until In 1991, he went to Thomas Johnson High School as a Varsity Assistant until During that time, TJ s football teams were Central Maryland champs 3 years and Regional champs for 2 years. Rick moved to Urbana High School in 1996 as the Defensive Coordinator until While there, Rick s teams broke a state record, winning 4 state championships and 50 consecutive wins. He also was the Boys JV Basketball Coach averaging 17 wins per season for 3 seasons. In 2002, Rick became the Head Football Coach and Physical Education teacher at Linganore High School where he has won 2 state championships and is still going strong. 7 2013/14 Hall of Fame Inductee Mike Working Mount Saint Joseph Mike s will be the second of the Father and Son inductions made into the Hall of Fame. Mike s father, Dick Working, was inducted in A graduate of the University of North Carolina in 1971, Mike played Offensive Guard and was a threeyear Letterman. He started his coaching career in 1971, coached until 2007, and during that time Mike coached High School, College, NFL and the Canadian Football League. Mike started at the College Level in 1971; his coaching experience was as follows: Appalachian State University, Boon NC Head Football Coach The University of Tulsa, Tulsa, OK Offensive Coordinator, 1989 Independence Bowl Wake Forest University, Winston-Salem, NC Offensive Coordinator, 1979 Tangerine Bowl The University of Tennessee, Knoxville, TN Tight End Coach, 1973 Gator & 1974 Liberty Bowls The University of West Virginia, Morgantown, WV Offensive Line Coach, 1975 Peach Bowl United States Military Academy, West Point, NY B Squad Coach, Scout, BEATING NAVY TWICE!! 8 John W. Voight Award 2013/14 Tim Breslin DeMatha Tim started coaching in 1980, at Archbishop John Carroll High School in Washington, D.C. During his ten years coaching at John Carroll, Tim served as Varsity Assistant, Head JV Coach and Head Varsity Coach in Several of Tim s teams accomplishments during this time included: WMAC Varsity Football Champs 1980, 1983, 1985, 1987, and 1988, ranked #1 in the D.C. area 1980, 1983 and In 1992 Tim moved to the College Level, coaching at Georgetown University serving as Defensive Assistant, and in 1997 becoming both the Offensive Line Coach and Offensive Coordinator until In 2003, Tim moved to DeMatha High School and became the Offensive Line Coach. Tim has been the LineCoach at DeMatha for the past 10 years. During his tenure at DeMatha, the school has won 7 WCAC championships; six of those were in a row from Tim has coached 34 Division I and IAA student athletes. Mike Fegan Georgetown Prep Mike, a Senior Loan Officer in Bethesda, has been with Georgetown Prep since Captain, and all league Offensive Guard in 1982, Mike began his coaching career in He started as Offensive Line Coach at Prep in 1984, working under his Dad, Jim Fegan (Hall of Fame Inductee 1997) and still holds the same position today at Prep. Mike worked with his father from , and with Dan Paro from 1997 to Mike s teams have gone Several of Mike s accomplishments: 7Undefeated Seasons 12 League Championships In 2002, Georgetown Prep was ranked #1 in the DC Metro Area. 9 DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR RICKY LEONARD Senior Middletown Posting 30 solo tackles, 14 sacks and 25 tackles-for-loss this season. A virtually unblockable force all season he helped a strong defensive team capture a third consecutive state championship in Class 2A. The Knights only allowed 99 points all season. Their first-team defense only surrendered eight touchdowns. College: Florida State DEFENSIVE LINE JESSE ANIEBONAM Senior Good Counsel DEFENSIVE LINE JEROME DEWS Senior Potomac College: Maryland DEFENSIVE LINE Montgomery Gazette first team and Washington Post All-Met honorable mention. One of the state s top prospects, and leader of Good Counsel s defensive line. MELVIN KEIHN Senior Gilman College: Tennessee Washington Post All-Met and Prince George s Gazette first team. Recorded 17 sacks and nine tackles for a loss DEFENSIVE LINE ADAM McLEAN Junior Quince Qrchard Baltimore Sun All-Metro first team. Twotime Consensus All-State performer. Had 85 tackles 16 for a loss and nine sacks. Will play in the Under Armour All-America Bowl. Montgomery Gazette first team. Had seven sacks, six quarterback hurries, five pass deflections and 10 tackles for loss. One of the state s top 2015 recruits with 20 offers from programs in the ACC and SEC. College: Viginia Tech

Named all-county as a defensive lineman, tight end and punter. Had nine sacks. College : Purdue Washington Post All- Met and Prince George s Gazette first team. Two-time Consensus All-State performer. Recorded 113 tackles, 26 tackles for loss, and four sacks LINEBACKER WYATT COOK Junior McDonogh MICHAEL GAYNOR Senior Eastern Christian Baltimore Sun Defensive Player of the Year. Highly coveted junior starred on a defense that allowed only 85 points while playing in the MIAA A Conference. Had 85 tackles, 12 for a loss. College: Eastern Michigan Led Eastern Christian with 127 tackles, including 23 tackles for loss. Had nine sacks, two forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries. LINEBACKER ANTHONY JACKSON Senior Suitland DEFENSIVE BACK JALEN CHRISTIAN Junior Damascus College: Delaware Washington Post All-Met first team. Had 171 tackles while helping Suitland to a 13-1, state runner-up season. Washington Post All-Met and Montgomery Gazette first team. Another elite prospect for the Class of 2015, and most opponents avoided throwing his way. He contributed 610 receiving yards as a wide receiver. Has more than 25 major college offers.
11 DEFENSIVE BACK DEMETRIUS JOHNSON Senior Annapolis Area Christian DEFENSIVE BACK BRANDON WATSON Senior Eastern Christian Baltimore Sun All-Metro and Annapolis Capital first team. Had 105 tackles, two sacks, three fumble recoveries and four interceptions. Named to play in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl. Had eight interceptions to lead Eastern Christian s secondary. Finished with 58 tackles, seven for loss, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. College: Marshall DEFENSIVE BACK JAMAL WOODLAND Senior DuVal College: Michigan DEFENSIVE BACK JOSH WOODS Senior McDonogh College: Toledo Prince George s Gazette first team and Washington Post All- Met second team. Two-way standout for a 4A region runner-up College: Maryland Baltimore Sun All-Metro first team. Two-way standout for 11-0 Mc- Donogh, recording 35 tackles and four interceptions at DB. Set a state record with 2,918 rushing yards this season to end his career with 5,650 which ranks in the top five all time. Scored 42 touchdowns. JUSTIN FALCINELLI Senior Middletown College: North Carolina Baltimore Sun All-Met first team. Key blocker for a team that averaged nearly 40 points a game. Named to the Frederick News-Post first team. Two-time Consenus All-State performer. 14 ALL-PURPOSE ZACH ABEY Senior Archbishop Spalding ALL-PURPOSE JOSHUA GILLS Senior Northwest Baltimore Sun All- Metro Offensive Player of the Year. Annapolis Capital Player of the Year. Played quarterback, completing 65 of 136 passes for 874 yards and 10 touchdowns; rushed for 1,663 yards and 19 touchdowns on 238 carries; had 50 tackles and six interceptions as a defensive back. College: Navy Montgomery Gazette first team and Washington Post All-Met second team. Rushed for 600 yards, caught passes for 495 yards, passed for 114 yards, and returned kicks for 185 yards. Led 4A state champ Northwest with 23 COACH OF THE YEAR TODD APPEL Fort Hill COACH OF THE YEAR DOM DAMICO McDonogh A graduate of Fort Hill and Frostburg State, Todd has coached at Fort Hill for 21 years, Head Coach for 6 and an Assistant for 15. As a Head Coach Todd has a record, winning 4 regional titles, 1 State runner up and in 2013 Todd won his first State Title with a 14-0 record. Todd lives in Western Maryland with his wife Suzanne and children Harper and Walker Dom has been coaching for 24 years, during that time he compiled a career record , including a record of at McDonogh. His 152 wins puts him in 9 th place on the list of most wins by active coaches in the State. His 2013 Eagles won the A conference Championship with a perfect 11-0 record. This was McDonogh s third conference championship. Dom was selected Metro Coach of the Year in 2013 for the second time, the first was in He also has won this Honor in Philadelphia, 1992, at Cardinal Dougherty High School.

Washington Post Article 12/28/2013 After taking over as Gaithersburg s coach in 1956, the McKinley Tech graduate compiled a career record of before retiring in 2000 as Maryland s all-time winningest high school football coach. In that time, Harvill led the Trojans to state titles in 1986 and 1992 and four undefeated seasons. As a visionary within the local football community, Harvill was instrumental in the creation of the Maryland Public Secondary School Athletic Association state playoffs in Gaithersburg honored Harvill by naming its football stadium after him in 1996.
