1 September 25th, 2017 Dear Athletic Director / Coach: Christ Child Academy is excited to announce its' 38th annual 7th/8th Grade Boys and Girls and 22nd annual 5th/6th Grade Boys and Girls tournaments. Over the years, CCA has built a strong reputation for hosting quality tournaments, both in terms of the tournament field and in the dedication and attention to detail that our Committee places on these tournaments. All games will be played in the newly remodeled Christ Child Academy gymnasium. Dates for the 2018 tournaments are: 38th Annual 7th/8th Grade Boys and Girls Tournaments, January 25-28, nd Annual 5th/6th Grade Boys and Girls Tournaments, February 15-18, 2018 Attached is the tournament information sheet and entry form. 2 38th Annual 7/8th Grade Basketball Tournaments and 22nd Annual 5/6th Grade Basketball Tournaments When: 7/8th Boys and Girls: January 25-28, /6th Boys and Girls: February 15-18, 2018 Where: Christ Child Academy 2722 Henry Street Sheboygan, WI Tournament Contacts: 7/8 Grade Boys: Mike Kaffine: 7/8 Grade Girls: Gary Oehldrich: 5/6 Grade Boys: Jim Glavan: 5/6 Grade Girls: Nick Reinl: Entry fee of $150 payable to Christ Child Academy. 7th/8th grade tournament fee and entry due by January 12th, th/6th grade tournament fee and entry due by February 2nd, Tournament Information: - Consolation or pool play style tournament, depending on the number of teams. - Individual or combined 5/6 and 7/8 teams are accepted. - Teams should be ready to play first round games on Thursday or Friday night. - Each tournament is limited to eight teams (Boys 7/8, Girls 7/8, Boys 5/6 and Girls 5/6. - All teams are guaranteed three games. - All teams must be school base or recreation team based. No AAU or All-Star teams will be allowed. Any exceptions must be approved by the tournament director. Please be up front with this situation. - Games will be played by WIAA rules. - All games will consist of four, six minute quarters, with regular basketball timing. - 7/8th Grade Three Point Contest (two entrants per team, with individual and team awards). - All tournaments, Free Throw Contest (two entrants per team, with individual and team awards). - Full concession stand will be available. Please no carry-ins.

It is understood that I, as the coach, am responsible for all the actions of the players and staff during the tournament. I also verify that the tournament roster provided is accurate and all players attend the same school and/or recreational program. Any addition or change to the roster must be approved by the tournament director, prior to the first game. I understand that any infractions to this rule will result in disqualification from the tournament with no money returned. 4 Here are some of the recent comments we have received from teams that have played in our tournament in the past: Over the weekend I participated in my 8th Christ Child Academy tournament. For those of you who aren't familiar with it, the CCA tournament is a 'gem' of a tournament right in our backyard for 5th through 8th grade teams. We've found that it to be a perennial favorite for the kids due to: - An appropriate level of competition for a small school like Kohler - A nice gym that has adequate seating but gets very loud especially during tight games. - Free throw and 3-point contests - with team and individual competition formats. - Pre-game announcements for all kids. - Designated locker room space for pre-game and halftime communication. - An extremely well-organized event in general, (they've been doing it for over 30 years). I'd highly suggest including CCA in your future tournament plans. Steve Zielke - Kohler Thanks for an extremely well run tournament. We have played in many over the last few years and would say the CCA was one of the best run. The little touches (introducing each kid, letting the kids use the locker rooms, free throw contest) made the kids feel special - they enjoyed the environment.
