2 August, 2015 As part of our continuing effort to provide quality athletic experiences for area student-athletes, the Holy Angels Athletic Committee is sponsoring the 19th annual Holy Angels Volleyball Classic for seventh and eighth grade girls. The past Classics were exciting events for all and provided teams with some excellent competition. The Volleyball Classic will be a week-long tournament beginning October 19th with final matches on Saturday, October 24th. The schedule for the week is: Monday 7th grade first round; Tuesday 8th grade first round; Wednesday 7th grade second round; Thursday 8th grade second round; Saturday final round matches. At both grade levels, each team will play three matches in an 8-team bracket format. The entry fee for the tournament is $125 per team until September 14. After September 14 th the fee increases to $140. A team plaque and individual awards will be given to each first and second place team; team trophies will be given to third and fourth place teams. Please consider your school s involvement in the Holy Angels Volleyball Classic. Kindly respond by September 14 th. Note that registrations are being accepted on a first-come basis. This Tournament has filled up quickly in the past. Please contact the Tournament Coordinator to ensure space is still available prior to sending in roster and fee. 3 19TH ANNUAL HOLY ANGELS VOLLEYBALL CLASSIC RULES October 19-24, W.I.A.A. officials and rules shall apply except when superseded by a stated rule below. No protests will be allowed; all referee decisions are final. Please note: Let serves (a serve which touches the net) are playable. Taunting and trash talking will not be tolerated. 2. Entered teams and players must have played for the team represented during the 2014 volleyball season. 3. Players may not play below their grade level. Players may be listed on only one roster and play on only one grade level. 4. Three games are played, but played as a match. Rally scoring shall be used at all grade levels. Games are played to a 25 point win, provided it is a two or more point lead, or the first team to 27 points. A win is the best of three games. If a third game is needed, the first team to reach 15 points will be the winner; win by two points, cap at 17 points. A third game is typically played regardless of need but an unnecessary third game cannot be started after 40 minutes into the match. 5. When performing a serve, the server will get one re-toss per term of service. 6. The height of the net will be 7 feet. The service line will be 30 feet from the net. 7. The team listed on the top of each game bracket is the home team and will use the boys locker room. The team listed on the bottom of each game bracket is the guest team and will use the girls locker room. 8. Warm-up time shall be determined by tournament officials prior to each match and communicated to both coaches before the start of warm-ups. Warm-up balls will be provided. Awards: 1. First and second place team plaques with team pictures and third and fourth place team trophies will be awarded. Individual medals will be provided for the first fifteen players on each first and second place team, while players on teams finishing third through eighth place will receive place ribbons. 2. All ribbons and awards will be presented immediately after a team s final game. Admission: 1. Players and coaches will be admitted free during sessions in which they play. Teams should check in at the admissions table upon arrival. 2. We do not provide lockers; therefore we are not responsible for lost or missing articles.

5 Hold Harmless Agreement As the named representative of School, I resolve to release Holy Angels School and Parish, its officers, employees, volunteers and Athletic Committee from any liability related to any incidents that occur in connection with the Holy Angels Classic Volleyball Tournament. It is understood that the above named school and its coach are responsible for the actions of its players during the tournament. To the best of my knowledge, all players listed conform to all eligibility rules, all coaches have satisfied the certification requirements, and the team and the athletic program are in compliance with all current Archdiocese of Milwaukee Policies and Procedures for Athletics.
