Anthony Brown - CB * With a start at Washington (10/21), Anthony Brown will reach 25 for his career. Ezekiel Elliott - RB * Ezekiel Elliott (currently at 3,998) needs two total yards (rushing and receiving) to become the 20th player in franchise history to reach 4,000 career scrimmage yards. * With at least 100 rushing yards at Washington (10/21), it would be Elliott s second consecutive 100-yard game - the second time this season and fifth such streak of his career. * Elliott (currently at 681) needs 19 carries to become the 11th player in franchise history to reach 700 in a career. * Elliott (currently at 25) needs two rushing touchdowns to tie Herschel Walker (27) for 10th on the club s all-time list. Byron Jones - CB * With a start at Washington (10/21), Byron Jones will reach 50 for his career. DeMarcus Lawrence - DE * DeMarcus Lawrence (currently at 29.0) needs one sack to reach 30.0 for his career and become the ninth player in team history to reach that mark. 5 2018 POSTGAME NOTES - VS JACKSONVILLE (10/14) 2018 DALLAS COWBOYS POSTGAME NOTES VS JACKSONVILLE (10/14) - TEAM: * The victory marked the first time Dallas has won each of its first three home games at AT&T Stadium to start a season. The Cowboys are now 3-0 at home to start a season for the first time since 1999, and the three-game home win streak is the longest since an eightgame streak from (AT&T STADIUM RECORD WHEN... - page 9). * The win also served as the Cowboys 40th regular season win at AT&T Stadium. * The Cowboys offense scored on the first four drives of the game, the first time since since against the Los Angeles Rams (10/1/17). * It was the first time Dallas has scored 40-or-more points in a game since against San Francisco (10/22) last season. * Dallas 33-point win was the team s largest margin of victory since a 35-point win (42-7) against Indianapolis (12/21/14). * For just the eighth time since 2000, the Dallas Cowboys had two players with at least 80 rushing yards (Elliott, 109 and Prescott, 82). It is also just the fourth time since 2000 that Dallas had a rusher with 100-plus yards and another rusher with 80-plus yards). * The Dallas defense held Jacksonville scoreless in the first half, marking the second time this season that the unit had shut out an opponent in a half (vs. NYG 9/16). * The Cowboys defense limited Blake Bortles to 149 passing yards, the fewest allowed this season and the fewest allowed since holding Russell Wilson to 93 yards against Seattle (12/24/17) DALLAS COWBOYS POSTGAME NOTES VS JACKSONVILLE (10/14) - INDIVIDUAL: Cole Beasley - WR * Cole Beasley caught a career-high tying nine passes for 101 yards and a career-high tying two touchdowns. * It was Beasley s second career 100-yard receiving game. His first was 112 yards against Philadelphia (11/8/15), and he became the first Cowboy to top 100 yards since Rod Smith had 113 yards at the N.Y. Giants (12/10/17) and the first receiver to top 100 yards since Terrance Williams had 141 yards against Kansas City (11/5/17). * Beasley s two receiving touchdowns marked his seventh career multi-touchdown game, and the first since against Kansas City (11/5/17). Overall, Beasley s seven career multi-receiving touchdown games are tied with Drew Pearson for seventh in team history (BEASE S TDS - page 14). * Of Beasley s nine receptions against the Jaguars, seven of those were on third down - tied for the most by any NFL receiver in a single game, since 1991 ( BEAS IN THE TRAP - page 14). Ezekiel Elliott - RB * Ezekiel Elliott rushed 24 times for 106 yards and a touchdown. * It was Elliott s 15th career 100-yard rushing game in the regular season, and the team moved to 12-3 when he rushes for 100 yards (THE BOOK OF EZEKIEL - page 12). * Elliott s three 100-yard rushing games in 2018 are tied for the most by any NFL rusher (KEEP IT page 12). * Elliott s rushing touchdown allowed him to become the 12th player in team history to reach 25 career rushing scores and tied Dan Reeves for 11th on the club s all-time list. Additionally, Elliott reached 25 touchdowns in 31 career games to become the fastest player in team history to reach that mark. Emmitt Smith previously was the fastest at 34 games. * By totaling 24 carries, Elliott posted his 24th career game with at least 20 carries to break a tie with Calvin Hill and tie DeMarco Murray for the third-most games with at least 20 carries in team history. * With the win, the Cowboys improved to 18-6 in games in which Elliott records 20-or-more carries. Brett Maher - K * Brett Maher connected on a season-high tying four field goals, including a career-long from 55 yards. * After missing his first career field goal attempt in the season opener at Carolina (9/9), Maher has made each of his next 15 and is 15- of-16 on the season. * With four field goals in today s game, Maher has now posted the third-most field goals through a player s first six career games as a Cowboy (FIELD GOALS FOR FOUR - page 16). * It was Maher s second game of the season with four-or-more field goals. He is now tied for the second-most games with four-or-more field goals in a season in team history (six players, eight times). Additionally, Maher s two career games with four field goals are already tied for fifth among all Cowboys kickers (FIELD GOALS FOR FOUR - page 16). * In the win over Jacksonville (10/14), Brett Maher went four-of-four on field goal tries, including converting two from 50-or-more. It marked the seventh time in franchise history a kicker hit multiple 50-yard field goals (NO PROBLEM FROM FIFTY - page 16). Dak Prescott - QB * Dak Prescott completed 17 passes on 27 attempts for 183 yards with two touchdowns, no interceptions and a quarterback rating. * Prescott also rushed 11 times for 82 yards - both career-highs - and his first rushing touchdown of the season. * Prescott s 17-yard rushing touchdown in the first quarter was the longest rush for a score in his career. It was his 13th career rushing score, third-most by a Cowboys quarterback, and the second-most by any NFL quarterback since he entered the NFL in * Prescott s 82 rushing yards were the most by any NFL quarterback in a single game in * Prescott s career-high 11 rushing attempts allowed him to top Quincy Carter (140) for the sixth-most rushing attempts by a Dallas quarterback (148). * His 11 carries also tied Steve Pelluer for the most by a Cowboys quarterback in a single game in franchise history, and his 82 rushing yards were the second-most (RUNNING MAN - page 11). * Prescott s two touchdown passes marked his 17th career multi-touchdown game (QB S MULTIPLE TDs - page 11). * It was also Prescott s sixth career game with at least two passing scores and a rushing score to tie Roger Staubach for the most in team history. On the league level, his six games are the most by any quarterback over the last three seasons (2 PASS TD, 1 RUSH TD - page 11). * Additionally, it was Prescott s ninth career game with at least one passing touchdown and a rushing touchdown. JASON GARRETT (70-56, 8th Year) Jason Garrett was named the eighth head coach in Dallas Cowboys history on January 5, Garrett became the first former Dallas Cowboys player to become the team s head coach. As a backup quarterback during his playing career in Dallas, he started nine-of-23 games played and was a member of teams that won six division titles and three Super Bowl championships. Garrett was elevated to the Cowboys top job after taking over as the team s interim head coach midway through He guided the club to a 5-3 mark to finish the season after the team started 1-7. He led Dallas to an 8-8 record, narrowly missing the playoffs and an NFC East Division title in each his first three full seasons as head coach ( ). Garrett guided the 2014 squad to an NFL-best tying 12-4 record, the club s 22nd Division title - 18th NFC East title - 31st postseason appearance and 34th playoff win. In 2017 the Redskins won at least seven games for their third straight season for the first time since a four-year streak from , marking the fourth-longest streak of seven-win seasons in team history. A year earlier Gruden guided the Redskins to an record in 2016 giving the franchise back-to-back winning seasons for the first time since In 2015 Gruden led the Redskins to an NFC East Championship posting a 9-7 record to complete the second worst-to-first turnaround in team history.
