MSU and UM square-off in Mariucci Arena (10,000) Friday (7:07 p.m. CST) and Saturday (7:07 p.m. CST). About the MSU-UM Series: Minnesota leads the all-time series between the two schools (28-7-6), but the Mavericks are in the last six games vs. the Gophers. MSU swept last year s season series, winning 3-2 and 2-1 in a pair of games played in Mankato. Most Recently: Minnesota State is coming off a weekend in which it went vs. visiting Alaska Anchorage. The Seawolves claimed a 5-4 win Friday and led Saturday 5-1 midway through the second period before MSU scored four straight times in rallying for a 5-5 overtime tie. The Mavericks enter the series with Minnesota owning a overall record. MSU is in WCHA contests. A former stand-out forward for Minnesota State (145 career points in 136 games from ), Jutting ranks among the school s all-time leaders for career games played, goals, assists, points and single-season points. The third person to serve as head coach of the Mavericks, Jutting spent 10 seasons as an assistant coach with the program prior to being selected as head coach in the summer of A two-time WCHA Coach of the Year ( and ) Jutting owns a (.462) career coaching record. A three-year letterwinner, Lee is with a 3.34 GAA and.907 saves percentage for Western Collegiate Hockey Association Standings Mike Louwerse Notes: Senior forward Mike Louwerse in 124 career games and is MSU s active career leader in terms of games played and career points. Cameron Cooper Notes: Senior defenseman Cameron Cooper, who has in 11 games this year, returned to the lineup last Friday after missing MSU s two games Minnesota Duluth last weekend due to a groin injury. The Lakeville, Minn., native, who assisted on a goal by Eriah Hayes in MSU s game vs. Alaska Anchorage Friday, has in 92 career contests. Phil Cook Notes: Junior goaltender Phil Cook is , 3.15 and.896 for his three-year MSU career. Cook owns two shut-outs and three assists in 37 games as a collegiate netminder. Tyler Elbrecht Notes: Junior defenseman, Tyler Elbrecht, who suffered a broken arm in the 1-0 win at RPI to open , has in 77 career games. Elbrecht saw his consecutive games played streak end at 76. Michael Dorr Notes: Senior forward Michael Dorr, who has totalled in the last seven games, is a co-captain for the Mavericks. The Roseville, Minn., native has in 74 career games with the Mavericks. Max Gaede Notes: Freshman forward Max Gaede made his collegiate debut in MSU s season-opening game vs. RPI Oct. 7, then missed the next eight games due to injury. A third-round National Hockey League draft pick (88th overall) by San Jose in 2010, Gaede got his first career points as a collegian when he tallied a goal and an assist in MSU s game at UMD Nov. 19. Gaede spent a year with Sioux City of the USHL before joining the Mavericks this fall. Matt Leitner Notes: Freshman forward Matt Leitner, who redshirted with Minnesota State last season after spending two campaigns with Fargo of the USHL, got his first career goals when he scored twice in the win at Michigan Tech Nov. 5. Leitner had a goal and two assists in MSU s 5-5 tie with Alaska Anchorage last Friday. Leitner, who is tied for the team scoring lead with , leads the Mavericks in assists. Charlie Thauwald Notes: Freshman forward Charlie Thauwald earned his first career point as a collegian when he drew an assist on Justin Jokinen s goal vs. UMass-Lowell Oct. 15.
