Tussle in T-Town: Despite a shootout defeat on Wednesday in Fort Wayne, the Cyclones have shrunk their Magic Number down to five as they make their way into Northwest Ohio for a battle against the Toledo Walleye. The Clones picked up an overtime victory against the Fish last week to run their season record to Scouting the Walleye: Derek Lalonde s club is on the verge of its first North Division title, needing just one win in their final three games to secure the top spot. Coming into the weeeknd, they have a three-point edge over Fort Wayne. Rookie Tyler Barnes continues to pace Toledo in scoring, having amassed 69 points (29g, 40a) in 68 games this season. On Wednesday, he was named to the ECHL All-Rookie Team. Kyle Bonis is another dangerous weapon for the Fish; through 62 games of work, he s collected 57 points (26g, 31a). A big reason for Toledo s success this year has been its goaltending. Jeff Lerg ranks second among all ECHL goaltenders with a 2.32 goalsagainst average record. With Neil Conway still on the shelf, the Walleye have added rookie alum Jordan Ruby. The RIT alum won is first professional start last week against the Kalamazoo Wings and posted a 3.01 GAA in that game. About Wednesday Night in Fort Wayne: Brett Perlini s goal in the third round of the shootout proved to be the game-winner as the Komets rallied past the Cyclones by a 3-2 final score in front of 7,760 at Memorial Coliseum. Geoff Irwin scored one of the Cincy goals to earn at least a point in his fifth consecutive game. About Last Saturday vs. Evansville: Rookie forward Garrick Perry posted his first two professional points to help lift the Cyclones over the IceMen by a 4-0 final score in front of 4,640 at U.S. Bank Arena. About Last Friday vs. Indy: A three-point night from David Pacan and a strong defensive effort led the Cyclones over the Fuel by a 4-2 final score in front of 4,501 at U.S. Bank Arena. It was Pacan s first multi-goal game of the year as Cincinnati took over the fourth and final playoff spot with four games remaining. Rob Madore earned the victory in net to become the club s third-best goaltender in terms of wins; he picked up his 32nd in a Cincinnati jersey.

Since beginning his coaching career in , Macdonald has helped contribute to the Cyclones back-to-back Eastern Conference Finals appearances. As a player, he spent parts of three seasons in the Queen City, logging 119 regular season games and 44 points (5 goals, 39 assists). Macdonald also contributed with 14 tallies (5 goals, 9 assists) in 44 Kelly Cup Playoff games and was a member of Cincinnati s first-ever Kelly Cup title in During that season, he served as an Assistant Captain. In addition to his ECHL experience, the former defenseman also saw time in the American Hockey League, Central Hockey League, and in Denmark. Collectively, he skated in 385 games as a professional and collected 133 points (30 goals, 103 assists) with 732 career penalty minutes. While playing in Denmark during the campaign, he helped his team capture a Bronze Medal and was a Danish Cup Champion. Prior to going pro, Macdonald was a four-year letter winner at St. Lawrence University, where he amassed 30 points (14 goals, 16 assists) and 131 penalty minutes in 118 career collegiate games. Macdonald resides in Cincinnati with his wife, Erin, and their one-year-old daughter, Hazel and son, Max.
