2 ABOUT ADRIAN COLLEGE Founded: 1859 Location: Adrian, Mich. (pop. 22,000). Located 45 minutes from Ann Arbor and Toledo, Ohio, and 90 minutes from Detroit. Description: Private, co-educational college of liberal arts and sciences related to The United Methodist Church. It is a traditional four-year, residential college that focuses completely on undergraduate education. 5 OUR FACILITIES: The Adrian College Bulldogs have the "crown jewel" of Division III football stadiums. The MultiSport Performance Stadium is entering its fourth year of existance on the campus of Adrian College and is a premier facility. The $6.5 million dollar masterpiece was completed in time for the beginning of the 2006 season. Not only does the football team enjoy this facility, but Adrian College's soccer and lacrosse teams also play their home games at Performance Stadium. The stadium seats approximately 3,000 fans with 2,500 chairback seats on the home side and an additional 500 bleacher seats on the visitor side. Features include state-of-the-art FieldTurf, stadium lighting, a fully-wired press box, and an end-zone section for student seating. In addition, there is the James F. Thomas Pavilion which is used for a variety of events including alumni gatherings on football game-days. Arrington Ice Arena was officially dedicated and opened for business on October 19, 2007 as the men s varsity hockey team squared off in their inaugural game against Potsdam State. The facility is home to Adrian College s men s and women s varsity Division III hockey teams as well as the ACHA Division I and II men s hockey teams and the synchronized skating team. The arena is named after Dr. Robyn Arrington Jr. and his brother, fellow Adrian alumnus Col. Harold Arrington. The brothers donated $3 million on behalf of their family. The $5.5 million project is also a place where local residents can use the facility for recreational activities. The operating schedule includes open skates for the community, learn-to-skate programs for children and adults and hockey programs for people of various ages and abilities. The arena consists of a single sheet of ice, 500 chair-back seats, a media press box, a president s seating area, concession stand, pro shop with skate rental, offices for ice sports coaches and personnel and locker rooms. Built in 1990, Merillat Sport and Fitness Center provides educational, recreation and fitness facilities for all Adrian College students, faculty members and staff. The 80,000 squarefoot complex includes a multi-sport forum for general recreational use with courts for basketball, volleyball and tennis, surrounded by a one-tenth mile indoor track. The Merillat also houses a conditioning room, classrooms, a physiology laboratory, and Vivian Wellness Center, as well as a performance gymnasium which seats 1,300 persons and serves as home to the Bulldog basketball and volleyball teams. Offices of the exercise science/physical education department faculty and athletic department coaches and administrators are also contained in the building. The Merillat Center is named in honor of Orville and Ruth Merillat, civic and business leaders in the community of Adrian for many years, whose leadership gift to the project provided the impetus for construction.

6 OUR FACILITIES: The Adrian College baseball team has the privilege of playing in one of the finest Division III facilities in the country. Nicolay Field was dedicated in 2008 and the Bulldogs just recently completed their second season and also hosted the NCAA Mideast Regional in Nicolay Field is named in honor of Bud and Betty Nicolay, whose generous contributions helped build the estimated $1 million project. The stadium groundbreaking ceremony took place in September 2007 and special guest speaker Ernie Harwell, Hall of Fame baseball broadcaster with the Detroit Tigers, delivered the keynote address about what a great thing was being done for future generations of baseball players at Adrian College. The Bulldogs had been playing baseball at Riverside Park in Adrian for nearly 60 years before the construction of Nicolay Field. Nicolay Field has state-of-the-art amenities including a field completely covered in field turf by ProGrass, an inning-byinning scoreboard, an underground drainage system, professional baseball caliber dugouts, bullpens and batting cages. The facility also has grandstand chairback seating on top of the dugouts for a capacity of 300, a heated press box facility for media and broadcasters, lighting for night games, locker rooms, a training room, restrooms and a concession stand. The press box is dedicated in the honor of Frank and Shirley Dick, longtime supporters of Adrian College. The Adrian College softball field received a major renovation in the fall of 2008, making it one of the best facilities in Division III. The renovations included newly built home and visitor dugouts, new all-turf bullpens for each dugout, new all-turf batting cages, stadium seating behind home plate, new press box, new inning-by-inning scoreboard, new windscreen for the entire field, a new tarp for the infield and resurfacing of the infield. The Adrian College track and field complex hosted its first outdoor meet last spring to rave reviews from the track and field community. The red eightlane, all-weather Polyurethane Tartan surface is designed as a Olympic style track with irrigated infield for throwing and jumping events only. The complex was completed in 2008 and features two discus throw cages, two shot put sectors, two long jump runways with sand pits on the north and south ends, a pole vault runway with vault boxes on the north and south ends, a javelin throw runway, a hammer throw cage, a high jump area, a steeplechase pit, college and high school lane markings and a Daktronics scoreboard in sync with our Fully Automatic Timing System.

7 OUR FACILITIES: Adrian College s Craft Tennis Complex features 12 outdoor lighted courts that were completed in The complex is split with six units with two courts per unit. The complex is equipped with perimeter drainage which helps prevent freeze thaw cracking of the courts in the harsh winters. The $1 million project was named after Harold Craft, a 1961 graduate, and member of the Adrian College Athletic Hall of Fame. Craft was a member of the varsity men s tennis team from his first year in college and lettered every year. He was a first-seeded player and was captain of the team. Hal helped AC record its first win in school history in a match against ranked Kalamazoo College, and helped the Bulldogs finish second in the league.
