9 Athletic Training Information Dear Athletic Training/ Administration Staff, On behalf of the University of Northwestern Ohio Athletic Training Staff, we would like to welcome you and your studentathletes to UNOH for the 2017 NAIA Opening Round Baseball Tournament. There will be a tent outside near the first base dugout that will be used as an athletic training facility. The Racer Athletic Building is the building located behind baseball right field and just west of the tennis courts on UNOH campus. That building will have the locker rooms and restrooms. The athletic trainer will be available to your team for any treatment needs two hours prior to the start of competition and a half hour after the conclusion of the event. All taping can be completed at the baseball field. In the event of inclement weather the WHAC guidelines and rules will be followed, please reference the sports medicine handbook and inclement weather guidelines. We will provide the following: Certified Athletic Trainer at UNOH Cold packs Hot packs Ultrasound and Stim Unit (weather permitted) Water and cups **Taping needs ** If your team is not traveling with an ATC, a written request with taping needs is requested. We ask that you provide the following: Taping and medical supplies Towels Insurance and emergency medical information If an athlete is injured during an event, the athletic trainer will assess the injury situation and give their professional opinion, help arrange transportation, provide maps, phone numbers and make referrals, if needed. There will be a physician on call for the duration of the tournament. Please don t hesitate to contact us with any questions you may have regarding our services.
