2 Manager, Coaches, Players: On behalf of the City of Sylacauga and Sylacauga Babe Ruth Baseball, I welcome you to the 2018 State Tournament. I hope you find your weekend enjoyable and full of action-packed baseball. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication from the coaches, parents and children involved to earn the privilege to play at this level. For this accomplishment, I would like to congratulate each and every team represented at this tournament. This is an opportunity for the children to have fun and be able to demonstrate the attributes that got them to this point. I wish all the teams involved the best of luck and I hope it s an enjoyable trip for each and every team along with your fans.games will start on Friday July 6, 2018 Please take time to visit our city, the local shops, restaurants, and historical sites. Make sure that you mention Sylacauga Babe Ruth (15U) State Tournament when you book. Listings of Hotels are included in the packet. Rooms should be booked as soon as possible in order to guarantee availability. Ice Breaker Sylacauga Babe Ruth invites you to an Ice Breaker will be held at Sylacauga First Methodist church 105 east spring street Sylacauga 35150, on July 5, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. There will be no charge to all players and coaches listed on the roster. Visiting family and friends will be able to purchase a plate for $8.00

3 per person. Attached is a Banquet information sheet. This sheet must be returned by July 2,2018. Please contact Mark Dale or Nicole Blair with any questions. Credentials and Coaches Meeting A table will be set up at the ice breaker for credentials. There will also be a mandatory meeting for coaches and managers at First Methodist after the Icebreaker. All managers are asked to bring their Tournament Books for the credentials to be checked. Admission Prices set by State A $ fan gate fee per team. MUST BE PAID BY COACHS MEETING. 4 Directions to Sylacauga s Babe Ruth Field 701 Broadway Ave., Sylacauga, AL Traveling From Birmingham Turn right onto Highway 280 East (toward Auburn) As you come into Sylacauga you will pass a Wal-Mart and come to a traffic light on top of a hill. There s a Food World/Big Lots shopping center to your left. Turn left there onto Fort Williams Street Go 1.4 miles and turn left onto Broadway Ave./Alabama 21 Go about half a mile, and the stadium is on the right, and the school is on the left Go past the football stadium about three blocks and you will see a Jack s Hamburger on your left and a city park on the right Turn right at the park, and the baseball field is on a hill behind the park Traveling From Auburn Turn left onto highway 280 toward Birmingham Exit off on the Hwy 21 exit, turn right onto hwy 21/Broadway Avenue. Follow that road until you reach Jacks on your left and the baseball field will be located on your right. Traveling from the Montgomery Area on Hwy Enter Sylacauga on Hwy 21/Broadway Ave. Continue until you reach a Jacks restaurant and Chevron on your left. The Field will be directly across the street from Jacks on your right. Traveling south on HWY 21 from Talladega Follow highway 21 all the way into Sylacauga. You will then pass a Chevron and Jacks restaurant located on your right. The Filed will be directly across the street on your left.

5 Sylacauga Ball Field Rules 1. NO COOLERS WILL BE ALLOWED IN THE PARK. A water cooler will be provided for each team in their dugout. Each team may bring one cooler, but it must be labeled and remain in the dugout. (PLEASE, REMIND YOUR PARENTS NO OUTSIDE FOOD, DRINKS OR COOLERS ALLOWED Do not make us out to be the bad guys) 2. No outside food or drinks may be brought into the park. 3. Any spectator/fan or coach who becomes disruptive will be asked to leave the park immediately. 4. Team will be allowed 15 minutes to warm up on fields between games (depending on schedules) 5. NO PETS ALLOWED, EXCEPT FOR SERVICE ANIMALS 6. SMOKING ALLOWED ONLY IN DESIGNATED SMOKING AREAS. 7. ALL OTHER RULES ARE POSTED AT THE ENTRANCE INTO THE PARK/FIELD AREA. 8. No artificial noise makers in the park. 9. No tents allowed behind home plate on the concrete. DRUGS, ALCHOHOL AND TOBACCO Alcoholic beverages and drugs are strictly prohibited from all recreational facilities. The City of Sylacauga has a zero tolerance policy for drugs and alcoholic beverages on or around recreational facilities. CONDUCT The City of Sylacauga has a zero tolerance policy for any acts of violence, therefore, anyone, including coaches, umpires, spectators or players, who participate in or are a party to any act of violence, to include verbal or physical, while involved in any Sylacauga Parks and Recreation sport programs will be turned over to the police. Abusive language, profanity and displays of vulgarity are also prohibited and are subject to be banned from the facilities. TOURNAMENT NOTEBOOKS The following documents are required by the Babe Ruth League, Inc. for each team before they are eligible to participate in any sanctioned Babe Ruth League, Inc. post season tournament. 1. Tournament documents are to be placed in a three ring binder in the order listed below. 2. These documents are to be placed in clear plastic, top-loading paper savers before being placed in the binder. Page 1: Birth Documents Page 2: Certificate of Insurance Accident

6 Page 3: Certificate of General Liability Page 4: Tournament Roster* Page 5: Letter of League Eligibility Page 6: Medical Releases** (4 Copies per Player) Page 7: Pictures (4 5x7 or 8xl0 color or black and white) Page 8: Coaches Certification ID Cards or Certificates Page 9: Charter Page 10: Letter of Waivers Page 11: Local League Rosters (tournament team players highlighted) Page 12: Local League Schedule Page 13: Affidavits Page 14: League Boundaries Page 15: Head Coach & Assistant Coaches Heads Up Concussion Certificate Page 16: Concussion Forms on each player signed by a parent or guardian *Birth Documents: See Babe Ruth Rule 0.04 Paragraph I-A for a list of acceptable documents. Consent for Treatment form on each player. This must be the form provided by Babe Ruth League, Inc. *Each player's birth document is to be place in the front of the plastic saver with Consent for Treatment Form in the back or under the birth document. They are then placed in the binder in the same order as they are listed on the Tournament Team Roster.
