1 July, 2012 Dear State Champion: Congratulations to you and your team for winning your state tournament and qualifying to play in the year old Ohio Valley Regional. It is such a great accomplishment and we look forward to seeing you in Henderson. Henderson Recreation Association (HRA) has a long tradition with Babe Ruth Baseball dating back to the 1960 s. We currently have over 200 athletes participating between the ages of 11 and 15. HRA teams have been successful in state and national play, highlighted by a 15-year old World Series runner up in HRA is extremely proud and excited to be hosting the year old Ohio Valley Regional Tournament. The attached information is very important to review and follow as you and your team prepares for your trip to Henderson. Please share this information with the families on your team that will be traveling to Henderson. Take a right on Watson Ln. Take the 1 st left onto Elm St. Park entrance will be less than a mile ahead on your right. From the South: Take Highway 41 north to the first stop light. If you want information sent to your local media outlet, please contact Bill Heath immediately upon winning your state tournament with contact information. FIELD CONDITIONS & WEATHER RELATED CHANGES: In case of bad weather, please check the tournament website. The local Tournament Coordinator, Bill Heath, or the Ohio Valley Regional Tournament Director will be in contact with team managers in the event weather forces us to change the schedule.

4 SCHEDULE OF EVENTS: All events are Central Standard Time Wednesday, July 25 Check In / Team Orientations: All teams need to check in at the park on July 25, 2012at the orientation time listed below. Please bring tournament books that include all the team official information. HRA will review Pre-game/Practice schedule and field/cage numbers with coaches. The following team assignments are scheduled for introductory meetings for all coaches and players. These are MANDATORY for all teams(players AND coaches) 2:50 PM Western KY, Southern IN, Henderson 3:30 PM Southern IL, Central IN, Eastern KY 4:10 PM Ohio, Northern IL, Northern IN 4:50 PM West Virginia, Michigan, Wisconsin Meet and Greet/ Ice Breaker 6:30 PM 9:30 PM: This will be held at the Denton Shelter House in Atkinson Park (2 minutes from the ballpark). Meet and greet is for players, managers, coaches, and families. Everyone is welcome. There will be no charge. When confirming your team is coming to Henderson please give the Tournament Coordinator an estimated number of player/coaches/ and extra family members so we can have enough food. Thank you. Thursday, July 26 Coaches Breakfast 7:00 AM This is a MANDATORY meeting for all coaches. The breakfast and informational meeting will be held at the Denton Shelter house at Atkinson Park. Only managers/coaches, umpires, and OVR officials must attend. Pool Play Begins 10:00 AM Pool play schedule will be available at Each team will play 3 games in their respective pool. Teams will advance to a single elimination tournament beginning Saturday, July 28 th, based on pool play results. Single elimination tournament will conclude on Sunday, July 29 th. PARKING: There is no charge for parking. Some of the parking is close to the field of play. Park at your own risk. The tournament is not responsible for damages from a foul ball or errant throw.

5 ADMISSION FEES: Tournament Pass for All Games Adult (18 & Up) $20 Tournament Pass for All Games Child (Age 6-17) $10 One Day Pass Adult (18 & Up) $7 One Day Pass Child (Age 6 17) $4 Children 5 and Under FREE Players and three coaches on the official are admitted free. PARK RULES: No outside food, coolers, or grills. Water will be provided for competing teams in the dugouts. Additional beverages will be available for purchase at the concession stand. Batting Cages Teams can begin hitting 1 ½ hours before scheduledgame time but must be at field 40 minutes before game time. Field 1 home team will use cage #1 Field 2 home team will use cage #3 (1 hr 40 minutes prior to game time until 1 hr 10 min) Field 1 visiting team will use cage #2 Field 2 visiting team will use cage #3 (1hr 10 min prior to game until 40 min prior to game) AMENITIES The concession stand is located in the center of the park. They offer a wide variety of items, including hamburgers, hot dogs, world famous pork chop sandwiches, soft drinks, popcorn, candy, and many other snack items. Atkinson Park offers a playground, walking trail, Frisbee golf, and picnic areas within a short walk/drive from the baseball fields.

6 HOTEL INFORMATION/ BOOKING Each team has 15 rooms reserved at a hotel in Henderson. Cliff Williams will be responsible for booking your team s rooms.
