Dithrich, President Pettis Road, Meadville, PA cell phone: (814) District Champion, Congratulations on winning your District Little League Baseball Tournament and welcome to the Pennsylvania Section 1 Little League Baseball Tournament. Meadville Area Youth Baseball and Softball Little League salute you on your accomplishment. The tournament will begin Saturday, July 14, 2018 and run through Wednesday, July 18. Check in for teams will be held Saturday from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Players do not need to be present for check in. There will be a meeting with tournament officials at 4:00 p.m. for all managers and coaches to discuss tournament procedures, practice and batting cage scheduling and answer any questions. Please me at wkdith@zoominternet.net to let me know that you won your district tournament. Please include with that your player s names and numbers as well as manager and cell phone number, coaches, and league president s names. Players will be fed after their games. Unfortunately, we will not be able to provide housing for teams. Attached is a list of area motels for your convenience if you plan to stay in the area. Also attached is a schedule of events, tournament bracket and a map of the Meadville area showing directions to our ball fields. IMPORTANT NOTE: Concessions provide revenues to help host leagues cover the costs of putting on tournaments. In order to support the host leagues, District 1 does not permit teams or fans to bring food and beverage into the ball field complex with the exception of water and/or sport drinks for team personnel for their games. The MAYBS concession stand carries a variety of hot food, snacks and beverages at very reasonable prices. Please pass this information on to friends and families of players who may be attending tournament games. We look forward to meeting you on Saturday and will do our best to make your tournament experience a pleasant one. Bill

3 2018 PENNSYLVANIA SECTION 1 LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE OF EVENTS Saturday, July 14 th 3:30 p.m. Check in 4:00 p.m. Manager and coaches meeting 6:00 p.m. Game 1 - District 3 vs. District 25 8:30 p.m. Game 2 - District 1 vs. District 10 Sunday, July 15 th 3:00 p.m. Game 4 - Loser Game 1 vs. Loser Game 2 6:00 p.m. Game 3 - Winner Game 1 vs. Winner Game 2 Monday, July 16 th 8:30 p.m. Game 5 - Winner Game 4 vs. Loser Game 3 Tuesday, July 17 th 8:30 p.m. Game 6 - Winner Game 3 vs. Winner Game 5 Wednesday, July 18 th If necessary: 8:30 p.m. Game 7 - Winner Game 6 vs. Loser Game 6 RADIO BROADCASTING Any radio station wishing to broadcast during the tournament must contact Meadville Area Youth Baseball and Softball Little League president Bill Dithrich at (814) to make arrangements. Each station is responsible for hook-ups. A $100 fee to Meadville Area Youth Baseball and Softball must be paid prior to the start of the tournament. MEADVILLE AREA MOTELS Econo Lodge... (814) ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY District 1 promotes good sportsmanship at all times and at all levels of play. Throughout this tournament any conduct that is meant to demean or incite opposing teams, spectators or officials will not be tolerated. All verbal comments must be positive and encouraging. Any offenders will, if spectators, be removed from the complex for the remainder of the tournament and if coaches or players be ejected from that game and per Little League tournament rules will not be permitted to participate in the next scheduled game. In the event of inclement weather, games will be re-scheduled and played the next day. If inclement weather persists, losers bracket will be dropped, and the Section 1 representative will be winner of the winner's bracket.
