Galesburg Youth Baseball (GYBL), and the City of Galesburg are looking forward to hosting the 2015 Cal Ripken Ohio Valley Regional 11-Year Old 50/70 tournament. Galesburg Youth Baseball has been involved in the Cal Ripken Program in Illinois for many years. We have been involved in and hosted many District, State, and Regional tournaments. GYBL promotes the values endorsed by Cal Ripken and Babe Ruth Baseball and compliments the strong youth recreational program in our community. The attached information packet is important to review and follow as your team travels to Galesburg to participate in the 2015 Cal Ripken Ohio Valley Tournament. 2 2015 Ohio Valley Regional 11-Year Old Tournament Information Packet July 29-August 2 Location 680 East Carl Sandburg Drive Galesburg, Illinois Tournament Contact Russell Idle, GYBL President (309) sgtidle@comcast.net Hotel Information The Tournament Committee has booked 15-room blocks for each participating team. The rooms have been reserved and pre-assigned to each team. To receive your hotel assignment and information, please contact the following as soon as you win your state tournament: Kyle Spencer (309) Special hotel rates and assignments have been obtained to assure that your teams have ample hotel rooms for their families and fans and that you will be grouped together. You will be given your hotel contact information when you contact Kyle above. Hotels need to be confirmed by Friday, July 24, 5pm. Directions Galesburg Illinois is located on Interstate I74 between the quad cities and Peoria Illinois. The best exit to use for Galesburg on I74 is exit 48. Voyles Field Voyles Field is located directly east of the intersection of Seminary Street and Carl Sandburg Drive on Carl Sandburg Drive. It is also directly south of Walmart. Park Rules Smoking will be allowed in designated areas only. There is no parking of vehicles on the grass, two parking lots are provided directly west of the field. Two practice fields and two batting cages will be available for teams to warm up if they are playing the next game. Information on public parks for other practices will be provided upon request. No outside coolers will be allowed into the park. A full concession stand will be available. Weather Delays If inclement weather delays/postpones games, updates and information will be available on our website at Tournament officials will also contact head coaches with information. Schedule of Events Wednesday, July 29 Check in/team Orientation- All teams need to check in upon arrival in Galesburg on Wednesday, July 29, Each team will be scheduled an arrival time for their orientation meeting. Each orientation meeting should have all coaches and players present. Family participation in the orientation meeting is encouraged. Team credentials will be presented at the time of the meeting. At the meeting, the teams will be given the tournament format, rules and other pertinent information related to the tournament. Meal tickets, tournament passes and tournament shirts will be for sale at the orientation meetings. Tournament shirt availability will be limited as we are doing preorders. The orientation meeting is mandatory for all coaches and players. The meetings will be held at: The American Legion 571 East North Street Galesburg, Illinois Orientation Meeting Schedule: 12:00 pm Illinois, Wisconsin (1 st place) and Galesburg 1:00 pm Northern Indiana (1 st place), Wisconsin (2 nd place) and Northern Indiana (2 nd place) 2:00 pm Ohio, Central Indiana, Michigan 3:00 pm Eastern Kentucky, Western Kentucky and Southern Indiana 6:00 to 10:00 PM Ice Breaker/Welcome Dinner All coaches, players and traveling families are invited to a tournament ice breaker. We will be serving dinner starting at 6pm and then all players and families are welcome to use the Lakeside Water Park from 7pm to 10pm at no cost. This includes the use of the pools and water slides. Dinner for the players and coaches is free. We will be serving hotdogs, hamburgers, chips and a drink. The meal prices for families is $5.00 for a hotdog meal and $6.00 for a hamburger.

4 Thursday, July 30 Location: Lakeside Water Park 1033 South Lake Storey Road Galesburg, Illinois Time: 6:00-10:00 pm 8 am: Coach s Breakfast- The mandatory coaches breakfast meeting is at 8 am at Sirloin Stockade in Galesburg. The address is 2200 N Henderson Street. Galesburg, Illinois It is on the NW corner of Henderson St. and Carl Sandburg Drive. All managers and coaches are required to attend. 10 am: Opening Ceremony- The opening ceremony for the 2015 Ohio valley Regional Tournament will be held at Voyles Field at 10am. All teams need to arrive and assemble at the field by 9:30 am. All players and coaches need to be dressed in full uniform. Teams should bring a state flag and local league banner (if you have one) as it will be paraded onto the field and then displayed on the avenue of the flags. 12 pm: Beginning of Pool Play- The pool play schedule will be available at Each team will play three pool play games and be seeded based on results. Friday, July am: Continuation of Pool Play- Pool play will continue according to the schedule. Saturday, August 1 Single Elimination Tournament- The single elimination tournament will begin according to the schedule as set by the Ohio Valley Tournament Director. Sunday, August 2 Semi Finals and Championship game- The semi finals and championship games of the Ohio Valley Regional Tournament will be played as set by the Tournament Director. Parking There are two parking lots available for parking directly west of Voyles Field. Both parking lots are free of charge. No vehicles may be parked in the grass. Admission: Adult tournament pass (age 16 and up) $25.00 Youth tournament pass (age 6-15) $10.00 Adult one day pass (age 16 and up) $8.00 Youth one day pass (age 6-15) $3.00 Children age 5 and under free Rostered players and coaches will be admitted free of charge.

5 Tournament T-shirts Tournament designed T-shirts will be on sale each day of the tournament. A limited supply of shirts will be on hand as we will be accepting pre orders from teams. Special orders may be placed at the time of the tournament and will be shipped to your back to your home town upon request. This is the image on the front of the tournament shirts.
