1 Dear Coach- Sponsored by Atlas Tracks, Brooks Running, and the Rob and Tammy McLean Family The UC Davis track and field teams look forward to our competition with your team on April 11, 2009 for the open and collegiate portions of the Woody Wilson Track & Field Classic. A time schedule is enclosed. This packet contains the following: Meet Information...Page 2-3 Tentative Meet Schedule...Page 4 Registration Form...Page 5 Maps...Page 6-7 Our facility has an Atlas surface with eight lanes all around. Spikes required on this track are 3/16 to 1/4- inch. The javelin, long jump, triple jump, pole vault, high jump and steeplechase approach are also of the same material. The shot put and discus areas are located inside the track. The hammer ring is located across campus near the health science complex and the Schaal Aquatics Center. Please note that the hammer ring is at the intersection of Garrod Drive and La Rue Road, immediately south of the aquatics facility (approximately 400 yards southeast of the previous location). Parking for the hammer throw is available in Lot 56, adjacent to the Schaal Aquatic Center. Weigh-ins for the shot, discus and javelin are located at the track stadium near the southwest entrance. Weigh-ins for the hammer will take place at the hammer site. Changing rooms and shower facilities are located next to the track inside Hickey Gym. Have your athletes bring their own towels and/or locks. For your convenience, there is a variety of eating facilities close to the campus, to which we can direct you at the completion of the meet. The entry process is the same as last year so please adhere to all of the instructions on individual and team entries described in this packet. Registration is only available through EZMeets.com. Instructions for both affiliated and unattached entries are noted below. The Woody Wilson Classic will be held on the Woody Wilson track. We have the ability to run the sprints and hurdles in either direction. All jumps and throws are located within the track. The hammer ring is located directly south of the Schaal Aquatics Facility. The final accepted entry list will be posted at no later than Wednesday, April 8. WEIGH-INS All implements must be weighed in between 7:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. inside the stadium. Hammer weigh-ins will be staged at the hammer ring.

The top eight will advance to the finals except in the long jump and triple jump. In these events, each will be given four jumps only (no finals). Be sure to see information on minimum standards to be measured in the field events. All athletes in the running events must check into the Bullpen (located at the north end of the track), 30 minutes prior to their event. The athlete could be scratched if he/she fails to check in. Our children s races will be open to children 3-12 years old. Please jevochatzer@ucdavis.edu for details. No entry fee or registration necessary. Please show up ready to race. Bring locks and towels. Hickey Gym is located next to the track. Entry fees are $20.00 per entered athlete PER EVENT, $20.00 per relay team, or a team fee of $ each (14 athletes or more including relays). No refunds for scratched or unaccepted entries. Fees for men s and women s teams will be considered separate. ALL FEES ARE NONRE- FUNDABLE. All checks or money orders are payable to UC Regents. Entry fees are to be paid at packet pick up on the day of the meet. Free parking is available in the parking structure and other lots on campus. Admission will not be charged.
