3 GTHA Tournament Rules Acceptance: All teams must be USA Hockey or CAHA registered. GTHA must have a copy of your USA Hockey or CAHA roster and entry fee prior to tournament date The tournament coordinator will select all teams to participate in the tournament and all decisions are final. Those not accepted will be refunded the team entry fee. Checks will be cashed as they are received. A cashed check does not imply acceptance into the tournament. Games: 3 - game guarantee in all house divisions, 4 game guarantee in Travel Divisions minute periods for Squirt House, 3 13 minute periods for Pee Wee House and Squirt A and Squirt AA 3-15 minute periods for Bantam House and All other Travel Tournaments 3 15 minute periods for Midget AA Tournament Round robin games will end in a tie. In tournaments with 16 teams in four brackets the winner of each bracket will advance to a semi-final game In tournaments with 8 teams in two brackets, the winners of each bracket will play the runners-up from the opposite bracket in the semi-final game. For example, South #1 v North #2 and North #1 v South #2. In tournaments with 6 teams, teams in the North division will play the teams in the South division during round robin play, and the top four teams overall will advance to the semi-final games. For example #1 v #4 and #2 v #3. 12 Team Tournaments 3 Divisions of 4 teams 3Division Winners plus 1 Wild Card Team Advance to Semi Finals (Wild Card will be team with the next Best Record), Will Re-Seed teams for Semi Finals #1 plays #4 - #2 plays #3 14 Team Tournaments 2 Divisions of 4 Teams & 1 Division of 6 Teams Top Team Advances from Both 4 Team Divisions and Top (2) Teams Advance from 6 Team Division Will Re-Seed Teams for Semi Finals. Playing Rules: All Tournament Games will be governed by MAHA and USA Hockey Playing Rules GTHA reserves the right to make decisions regarding the interpretation of all rules and all decisions are final. Standings, Point System &Tie Breaking rules: Two points for a win, one point for a tie. If two or more teams have equal number of points, their positions in the standings shall be determined by the following tie-breaking formulas: max 7 goal differential 1-The results of the games played between the tied teams in the following order- (A) Head to head, (B) subtracting goals scored against from goals scored in these games, (C) least number of goals allowed in these games. 2-If still tied, using all games played (A) subtracting goals scored against from goals scored, (B) least number of goals allowed. 3- Least amount of penalty minutes acquired during all games in the round robin, 4- Team scoring earliest goal in the first game of the tournament Overtime Rules: One sudden death overtime period of 5 minutes will be held in semi-final and final games. A five-player shootout will occur if still tied, followed by a sudden death shoot out. Players that are still in the Penalty Box at the Completion of Overtime are not eligible for Shootout Running Clock 7 Goal Difference in 3 rd period, Stop Clock Resumes if deficit cut to 3 Timeouts Timeout in Semi- Final games and Final games
