Program Program Introduction Introduction Hattrick FC (HFC) Football Gold program, the competitive and elite branch of the HFC football programs. HFC Football Gold program strives to provide elite training for aspiring football stars and to bring high-level youth football competition and player development to Shanghai. HFC Elite players are chosen after try-out sessions and scouted by HFC professional coaches. Hattrick players are chosen according to the skill level, but also for the exhibit intense passion for the sport, dedication, and a strong commitment to the values of teamwork and fair play. The purpose of this leaflet is to provide information about the HFC football Gold program. Please read all the information below carefully. By signing the agreement we assume you are familiar with our program principals and guidelines and will support HFC and coaches to run the season smoothly. HFC Philosophy At Hattrick FC we share a love of the game. Our philosophy is work hard, play hard. Learning how to work as a team, win or lose, is core to our beliefs. We provide a place for dedicated players to develop their football skills and achieve higher level of strategic play in a competitive environment. Good sportsmanship is essential and coaches guide players toward learning how to govern one s emotions and respect the rules. HFC players learn how to work in a team towards a common objective while creating new friendships with others who share the same love of football Season HFC gold program is open in Puxi and Pudong in age brackets from under 6 to under 16 years old. Season will start in September/2017 and end in June/2018 (see season calendar); include two training session of 2 hours each and a weekend league game or friendly game on weekend. HFC gold teams will travel to international tournaments based on a decision of a coach and team parents. HFC will run special workshop and football camps during the holidays to support the HFC players and teams.
HFC Football Gold Program Page 2 HFC gold is a competitive and elite football program Being committed to the team-teaches children how to manage one s life and set priorities Commitment Players are expected to commit to their team, attending every practice and game. HFC understands that children have other commitments of importance. However, it is expected that social activities will be rearranged or take second place to HFC. Being committed to the team teaches children how to manage one s life and set priorities. Attendance will be taken at practices and games. Poor attendance will have a negative impact on the development of the child and thus, a similarly negative impact to the success of the team. Though competitive football is a large time commitment, it is fun and players join because they love to play! Practices for all categories are held twice a week on, plus there s one game day every week. PUXI HFC U8-U16 & Girls practices on Monday & Wednesday at Sport plus field (address below), games on Saturday (locations and times varies) PUDONG HFC U8-U16 & Girls practices on Tuesday & Thursday at Wellington College International Shanghai, games on Saturday, and game day will be confirmed (locations and times varies). HFC gold teams participate in a League in Shanghai during the fall and spring seasons. During offseasons, coaches use Saturdays for scrimmages against other competitive teams. While the league schedules are made seasonally and published in advance, friendly game times vary and are dependent on opponent teams schedules and field availabilities. Coaches will send out the friendly match times as soon as they can, but due to varying scheduling, it may be difficult for it to be sent out as early as we would like. If there is not a friendly game arranged, your coach will arrange a practice and details will be notify by a coach. We respect families schedules and will do our outmost to follow above announced times. However, HFC reserves the right to make changes to these due to field space and availability, league schedule changes or other issues that are out of HFC control. HATTRICK FC ( Season) age group cut off U7 (After September 1st, 2010 / 2010 年 9 月 1 日后出生 ) U8 (September 1st, August 31st, 2010 / 2009 年 9 月 1 日 年 8 月 31 日 ) U9 (September 1st, August 31st, 2009 / 2008 年 9 月 1 日 年 8 月 31 日 ). 3 HFC Football Gold Program Page 3 Practice Protocol HFC practice is very important; players must understand the importance of listening to the coach and directing all their energy into the drills and plays. Every effort is made to ensure the time is enjoyable, however the objective is to build a team that is competitive, and thus the atmosphere should be more serious. Practices are restricted to HFC players only and is not an after school activity to fill other children s time. If the child must miss a practice or game, the parent or player must contact the Coach ahead of time to explain and to discuss necessary arrangements. Consequences following a missed practice are up to the discretion of the coach and may impact the standing of the player on the team roster. Uniform and Equipment Hattrick FC will provide a set of uniform for each player that includes two game uniforms (Blue and White), two pair of socks and bag. Hattrick will have a fan shop that player and families can buy any HFC items that you like to bring your spirit and love to the team such as: Hattrick sweater, pants, raincoat, cap, scarf, water bottle, towel and other items Tournaments HFC would encourage participating in several tournaments during the season around China and Asia. It is great to see local competition level improving, the travel tournaments still are important addition to annual HFC Gold Program that give a team chance to compete internationally and are therefore wonderful accomplishment for any young player. Teams will find football tournaments a complete rush. The fun they can have could greatly help them to become very well rounded young players. They ll not only be challenged to the best of their best ability, but they will also be taught how to handle themselves during some of the most difficult times in the sport. Tournaments can also be a great opportunity for them to learn about unity and togetherness. In 2017 season Hattrick participated in tournaments in Beijing and Thailand; Hattrick teams performed well and planning to travel to Singapore, Xiamen, Beijing and Thailand in the Spring-2018.
HFC Football Gold Program Page 4 Team Managers It s just a part of being in a team! The Coach is in charge of the team, and the Team Manager should work to support the Head Coach and the families of their team to contribute to an overall positive experience for all players and parents. Team parent(s) goal is to enhance the team cohesion and team spirit and support the team to work together to achieve the common goal. The team manager serves as the operational manager for the team organization, coordinating all the tasks that need to be done, making sure communications are clear to all affected individuals. It is important that the team manager meets and communicates often with the team coach to assure expectations are clear and that any outstanding issues are clarified on a timely basis. Each team will need one parent volunteer as appointed Team Manager so please step up! As these are things you would already be doing once your child is on the team, taking it one step further would help the entire team operate more smoothly. Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, sacrifice and most of all, love of what you are doing or learning to do. Keep the pulse on the team and parents by listening and passing concerns on to the coach. Make phone calls and/or send s if necessary. Communicate with team members about tournament travel arrangements. Provide information to HFC staff with tournament registration as needed. Lead the year-end party organization for the team. The cost of this is to be divided amongst the players on the team. Assist HFC staff in preparing and issuing awards at the end of the year party. Prepare additional awards to be handed out at the end of the year party if desired by the team. The cost of this is divided amongst the players on the team. Collect money from parents for all of the above Encourage team spirit, good sportsmanship and fun! Professional coaches measure success in rings. College coaches measure success in championships. High School coaches measure success in titles. Youth coaches measure success in smiles." -Pele -Paul McAllister, Youth Coach
HFC Football Gold Program Page 5 Player s Code of Behavior Players are the most important people in the sport of soccer. Playing for enjoyment as a member of a team is the most fundamental part of the game. Whilst winning is the objective, it is not to be achieved at any cost. Fair play and respect for all others in the game is essential. Play soccer to enjoy, have fun and accept that striving to win is more important than winning. Victory and defeat are inevitable, and should be accepted equally. Understand and abide by the laws, rules, and spirit of the game and any competition in which you participate. Players will exhibit good sportsmanship at all times, never condone violations of the rules of the game, or exhibit behavior contrary to the spirit of the rules of the game. Consistently display high standards of behavior. Respect the wishes and directions of your coach. Respect the referees decisions at all times. Treat opponents with due respect at all times, and avoid words or actions that may mislead a match official. No offensive, abusive, or insulting remarks shall be made toward any other player, official, or parent. Display a good attitude at training and on match days, and always try your best. Keep your soccer kit and equipment always in a good and safe condition. Wear shin guards during matches and training. Inform the coach when you have an injury. Ensure that all requisite forms are filled in correctly. Pay any subscriptions or fees on time. Encourage and respect your teammates - you cannot win a game on your own. HFC Coaches Code of Behavior As a coach you will be involved in the sporting and soccer development of your team players, and largely responsible for their continued enjoyment of the game. It is important that the enjoyment of the game is paramount at all times. As a coach of a competitive program, it is natural that winning constitutes a basic concern. This code is not intended to conflict with that. Always respect your players and use positive encouragement to make players reach their goals and train harder. Exhibit good sportsmanship at all times. Coach in a positive and professional manner, and serve as a model of proper behavior for my players, parents, and other team supporters. Encourage and guide players to accept responsibility for their own behavior and performance. Encourage the players to think for themselves in the game situations.
HFC Football Gold Program Page 6 Always be honest with players, parents, guardians and officials. Always respect the decisions of the referee and encourage your players to do the same. If any questions or issues come up during the game, they should be dealt after the game with appropriate game official. Always look for and encourage positive attributes or performance and effort and promote the positive aspects of the sport (e.g. fair play). Coaches must consistently display high standards of behavior and appearance. Coaches must not tolerate inappropriate language and bad sportsmanship from their players on or off the field. Require the players, parents, and other supporters of the team to follow the Player and Parent Code of Ethics and will be responsible for taking reasonable action to secure their appropriate behavior or removing them from the event. Ensure that my players are properly registered with Hattrick FC. No unregistered players may participate in games or practices. Parents Code of Behavior Hattrick FC Soccer program is committed to providing an inspiring and positive soccer experience through practice and play. Our goal is to be inclusive to the entire community and to provide each child with an opportunity to play the game and develop technical and tactical skills, a sense of team spirit, leadership qualities, and sportsmanship. To achieve these goals, we have established a Code of Conduct for parents and spectators Be your child's best fan and support him/her unconditionally. Cheer everybody on the team, not just your own child. Do not criticize your child s coach to your child. When you take your child home after a match or training session, please be supportive and always focus on the positive aspects of his/her game. Develop a sense of responsibility in your child to pack his/her own kit, clean his/her cleats, and bring their own water to practices and games. Respect the facilities at our opponents grounds. You must agree never to yell or ridicule any other player, coach or official during a game. If you are not happy with the coach, you should raise the issue with the coach after the game or practice session. Encourage your child to speak with the coach. If your child is having any difficulties within the team, encourage him/her to speak directly to the coach. Taking responsibility is a big part of becoming a mature person. By handling off-field tasks, your child is claiming ownership in all aspects of the game. Help your child focus on the performance and not the result. Teach your child that playing the game is fun, no matter if he/she wins or lose. Emphasize practicing and developing his/her skills; that will help him/her win further down the road where it really counts. Support all the players in your child's squad. Do not criticize anyone. Remember children do not mean to make mistakes. Do not criticize the opponents, their parents, or their officials. You should also show good conduct by teaching your children to always shake the opponents' hands no matter how upset they may be. Instead you should comfort them and tell them that the important thing is that they did their best
HFC Football Gold Program Page 7 Never audibly dispute a referee s decision. They will make mistakes occasionally. We all do. If you abuse or shout at the referee, you are breaking the rules of the game and show bad sportsmanship. Parents must not coach from the sideline during matches or training. Leave this to the manager/coach or else you may cause confusion and erode your child s confidence. Please tell the coach whenever your child has a medical impairment that could harm a teammate or opponent. This also includes injuries that your child has that could further hurt your child. Examples would be communicable diseases and injuries such as breaks, sprains, concussions and others. Please remember the game is for the children. It is not for the glory of the coach, manager, or parents.
