3 On December 3rd the Missouri Hereford Association will host the 15th consecutive Opportunity sale in Sedalia, Missouri, at the State Fairgrounds. On behalf of the Association and the Board of Directors, I would like to be the first to invite you to be with us at the 2017 Opportunity Sale. This has become a very exciting Hereford weekend you will not want to miss. If you are unable to attend the sale on December 3rd at noon, make plans to be with us online with Live Auctions.TV. We have 31 consignors bringing you 61 lots to consider. We have had over 30 consignors for this sale for as long as I can remember. This event has become a Hereford event that many Hereford breeders will not miss. This sale was designed around its name, Opportunity, which works just as well for buyers as it does for the consignors. It has helped breeders market and purchase the top cut of Herefords from across Missouri and beyond. It is a marketing service provided by the MHA to members from Missouri and other states. Over the past 14 years we have sold cattle into as many as 13 states in a given sale. The bulls have made big impacts on both purebred and commercial herds. Many show heifers have been named champion and then gone on to be foundation females for their new owners. Cows that have raised calves coming back to the Opportunity sale. There are many opportunities awaiting you at the 2017 Missouri Hereford Association Opportunity Sale. The demand for the higher quality cattle is still very strong. This sale is a little different than most sales because we have 31 different operations bringing you one or two of their very best. That is where the opportunity for everyone is great. You can add one or two or maybe more breeding pieces to your breeding program. As you can see, several of the lots are AI sired and even mated AI to some of the top bulls in the breed. Once again, we have an exciting group of spring heifer calves and a large group of fall pairs. This sale offers spring bred females as good as you can find, along with powerful fall yearling heifers, either AI bred or ready to breed. We have herd bull prospects that are bred to be herd sires. These cattle have all been hand selected by our AHA Field Services Director, Joe Rickabaugh. The MHA Board would like to thank Joe for his efforts. There will be several trailers at this event from around the state and beyond to help you with your travels. This will allow these cattle to be hauled to central points around the state and beyond. All cattle must leave the sale site following the sale. Hereford cattle continue to be in the spotlight in the beef cattle business. You will find our consignors have put together a strong set of cattle for you again this year. The show heifer age females are as good as you will find anywhere, along with the bred heifers, fall pars and spring splits! We will sell the rights to pages in the 2018 Missouri Hereford News newsletter. I would like to thank the Board of Directors and the sale staff for all their hard work that truly makes this a great association event. There is fun and excitement for all in Sedalia, Missouri, the first full weekend in December each year and I would think you would want to be a part of it again this year. Plan to attend the annual meeting and banquet at 5 p.m. Saturday, December 2nd. The sale headquarters will be the Best Western State Fair Inn. Ask for the Hereford Association block room rate. Sedalia is a hard town to get a room in so call now Other accommodations are listed in this catalog. Hope to see you in Sedalia!!! Matt Reynolds, MHA Secretary 1071 Co. We are very fortunate to have a heifer born last fall and again this fall out of this female s dam. We also have a few half-sisters to Showtime s dam. It really is amazing the quality that Rockin Erica passes on. This is the reason we purchased this female s grandam, STAR Errika RCR 28L, and we have not been disappointed one time. Two of the heifers showed at the Missouri State Fair where both won their classes and one was selected reserve in a competitive four class, 40-head division. This heifer stayed home, but she s every bit as good! Super neat shouldered and yet still super bold in her upper rib. Sound and functional from the ground up and goggle-eyed to boot! Take her on the road next summer and she won t let your down. Then turn her out and she ll impress you even more! With her no-miss momma, a double bred P606 daughter that came to us from Duvall Polled Herefords, and Red Bull on the top side, she s sure to be a powerhouse cow that can put some good ones on the ground for you Consigned by Triple H Acres triplehacres@live.com Lot 58 THA 200Z Blanche J608 Sedalia, Mo.
