12 Headliners concerts Payne Auto Group Rodeo Arena Randy Houser COUNTRY He s ready and he s coming off some No. 1 hits. Randy Houser hasn t always been happy, but his powerful voice, hailed as one of the best in Nashville by Great American Country and numerous other critics, has him on the right track and better than ever. Randy has had his share of achievements, including multiple nominations for awards and songwriter credits for major names such as Trace Adkins, Justin Moore and Chris Young. But it wasn t until 2008 that Houser made a name for himself. That led to more success and hits along the road. He s racked up three straight No. 1 hits and 4 million in singles sales to date with his Stoney Creek Records album, How Country Feels, which was released in Houser admits it is his most expansive outing yet with more bells and whistles than he s used in the past. It also showcases his voice. 13 TEJANO Intocable Thursday, March 9 at 7 p.m. Intocable is considered one of the most influential groups in Tejano and Norteno music today. They started 20 years ago in Zapata, when friends Ricky Munoz and Rene Martinez dreamed of bringing their songs to the world. They were proud to show off their crafted and unique style of music which fuses Tejano Conjunto music, Norteno folk rhythms, pop ballads and rock. They travel the United States and Mexico and their songs are heard on radio stations throughout the Americas and the band has performed in such locations at the Auditorio Nacional in Mexico City, the Monterrey Arena in Mexico and Reliant Dome in Houston. They have No. 1 hits including Robarte un Beso Promete Te Amo (Para Siempre) Culpable Fui (Culpable Soy) Tu Ausencia Dame Un Besito Eres Mi Droga Suena When we make a new record, we never try to top the previous one, but truly enjoy and live in the moment. He typically performs two to three shows per week from small stadiums to rodeos, coffee houses to bars and taverns, weddings and private events as well as hospitals and funerals. He has found a niche with his down-to-earth charisma, southern charm and comedic personality. 14 2017 Cover Girl Anika Hovda Weslaco High School Anika,17, is representing Borderline 4-H and will proudly serve as this year s Cover Girl. She is a member of the National Honor Society, captain of the girls golf team, district golf champion and is an officer in the Weslaco FFA and Borderline 4-H Club. She has spent the last 11 years as an honor roll student and is ranked in the top 2 percent of her class. She also has been selected to be a member of the Hidalgo County Cotillion Club. Anika takes great pride in being a third generation participant in the rich tradition of agriculture education and heritage of the Rio Grande Valley Livestock Show. She has raised market hogs, competed in the calf scramble and entered exhibits in photography, shop and horticulture. Anika will be a member of the Fighting Texas Aggie Class of 2021 and will pursue a degree in Ag business with plans to return to the Valley to continue her family s legacy of farming and land stewardship.
