1 Extension Brand Identity 4-H T-shirt Design Guidelines
2 Guidelines for Creating 4-H Apparel Artwork WHAT S REQUIRED: 1. 4-H clover: The 4-H clover must appear somewhere on the shirt in a prominent size and/or position. Do not place words or graphics over the clover. Do not fl ip or rotate the clover. The USC symbol should be included with the clover. 2. Use of correct colors (see page 3 for color formulas): a. 4-H Clover must appear only in 4-H green, white, black or metallic gold (and for white clovers, H s can only be 4-H green). b. Shirt colors may be green, gold, maroon, white or gray. No other colors are permitted. c. The U of M Extension wordmark must appear only in offi cial University colors (maroon and/or gold, black or white only). 4. Fonts: Use Extension offi cial fonts only: Helvetica Neue (or Arial), Ext DIN OT (or Calibri), Glypha (or Lucida Bright). 5. Use the designs in this document: Use one of the existing designs in this document for your shirt design. If using county or program artwork (as indicated on page 12), the artwork must be placed in a box similar to what is shown and the shirt must also include the diagonals box, clover (and county name or Minnesota 4-H ) on the right or left side or below the artwork. All artwork must use approved colors (see page 3). 6. Include partners/sponsor info on the back: Partner/sponsor logos, designs and other information must be placed on the back of the shirt only. Shirt front and sleeves are reserved for U of M Extension 4-H designs H in text: For consistency, all counties and clubs are to list 4-H after their county name (examples: Dakota County 4-H or Bucking Broncos 4-H Club). 3 Color Palettes for 4-H T-Shirts UMN EXTENSION CORE PALETTE UMN EXTENSION ACCENT PALETTE 4-H apparel designs may be created using combinations of the Extension colors shown at right (see next page for further clarifi cation): Ext Core Maroon Ext Core Gold EXT 4-H Green 1. The University of Minnesota Extension Core Palette CMYK: 0/100/63/29 PMS 201U CMYK: 0/16/100/0 PMS 116U CMYK: 100/0/90/0 PMS 347U 2. Select colors from the University of Minnesota Extension Accent Palette that are used in 4-H print and digital collateral. Ext Core Dark Maroon (This color is used only as an accent. See samples.) White EXT Dark Green CMYK: 48/0/95/4 PMS 382U (closest match) PMS 195U CMYK: 0/100/60/55 Black PAGE 3 COLOR PALETTES

7 4-H Program/County + Extension Shirt Designs: CALHOUN DAKOTA 4-H These designs demonstrate strong use of University of Minnesota Extension 4-H branding when including a program or county name. Designs can be produced in 1, 2 and full color combos. Use offi cial colors and fonts only. DAKOTA 4-H 2. ONE-COLOR TREATMENT This 4-H graphic could be used on either the front or back of t-shirts. DAKOTA 4-H 1. TWO-COLOR TREATMENT More attention is brought to the U of M Extension wordmark by housing it in a maroon bar. 3. COLORED SHIRT TREATMENT Placing green/white artwork on maroon (or gold) material is another way to incorporate U of M Extension branding into the apparel. PAGE 7 4-H PROGRAM/ + EXTENSION DESIGNS

12 4-H + Local Club Artwork Designs: These designs show how a county or program s artwork created for a specifi c event or club may be included on a t-shirt. The 4-H event or club artwork and copy should only be included within the large box. CALHOUN Use offi cial colors and fonts only. 2. MORE PROMINENT NAME Another one-color design with a more prominent name treatment (not to extend beyond edges of overall graphic above it). 1. ONE-COLOR TREATMENT This design shows how the club artwork and name can be housed inside a U of M Extension 4-H branded shirt. Program/county name would fit on 2-3 lines, and size may be adjusted to fit within box. MINNESOTA 4-H 3. COLORED SHIRT SAMPLE Another one-color option shown on a colored shirt.
