1 TECHNICAL INFORMATION BULLETIN 2 Date: 4th-6th August 2017 Organizator: Klub orientačního běhu Dobruška Competition centre (CC): camp Bučnice in Teplice nad Metují (GPS: N, E) Arrival and parking: The best way to reach CC is using the train. You won t need car during all the competition. Arrival by car: Competitors who ordered an accommodation in camping (cottages, tents), normally comes to camping where on the reception you recieve instructions how to park and where to build up your tents to spare the place. If so many people comes in one time, there could be a little queue. Please be pationed. Entry fee discount: In case you are accommodated in camp and you leave your car outside the camp on temporary parking, you can recieve a discount 150 CZK (one stage entry fee). If you are interested in, just say to parking guys, that you want this discount. He will give you a voucher that you can bring to registration desk, where (if you weare our wrist tape which you recieve at the registration desk too), you will recieve this discount in cash. No future parking in camp is then possible. Competitors accommodated somewhere out of the camp, can left their cars on temporary parking 1.1km far from CC in Teplice and then they walk to CC. We strongly advise to not parking outside official parking places. CC is in attractive tourist area, parking on the road is forbidden and police is here active indeed. In CC can drive in and park only accommodated competitors. Temporary parking is free of charge. If you plan approach to CC via Trutnov, then Petříkovice and Chvaleč, be informed that this road is now closed right behind the crossing in Trutnov in direction to Adršpach. Detour leads to Úpice, then Odolov and Radvanice. It s long way and it s using narrow local roads. Try use some other directions, we recommended approach from Poland (Mieroszow-Zdoňov (2.2m wide gap on border!)- Teplice) or from south (direction Nachod-Hronov-Teplice).

2 Accommodation: Accommodation is completly managed by camp manager. Each competitor accommodated in camp recieve a wrist tape and is ask to wear it. We want to know that you are a participant and you are ours. Not accommodated participants recieve a wrist tape too (but different color). Please wear this tape, without it you may not be later alowed to enter the camp. In camp you find propriete amount of WC (5 for men, 5 for women, 2 for wheelchairs + 6 ToiToi for morning jam), warm showers, central kitchen, for more info check out the camp web page: Be noticed that accommodation can start on Friday 12:00 (cottages must be maked up after previous users) and must be left on Sunday till 10:00 (must be make up after you for next people). Tents should be packed on Sunday till 10:00 too, if it will be possible. All instructions you will recieve on camp reception. Competitors who are NOT ACCOMMODATED in camp are not able to use showers (weather is dry and we don t have much water). You can use near Metuje creek for basic bath. No soap! Registration desk: In main buildig, will be visibly marked. Operating hours: Thursday 3rd AUG :00 to 22:00 Friday 4th AUG - 8:00 to 16:00 Saturday 5th AUG - 8:00 to 10:00 Sunday 6th AUG - 8:00 to 10:00 Additional entries are possible to vanact places in start list. Board: We prepared for you a party tent with very basic sortiment to survive the three day competition (sausages, beer). There is a small kiosk too. Other possibilities are so far (2 km and more) away, so we asked for help a Hotel and restaurant school situated 500 m far from CC. 3 Competitors who ordered board in ORIS system recieve at registration envelope a food tickets, which they use in canteen to take out the meal. Meals are not counted, you just come and pick one of four meals on list. Firstcomers have a choice. Who is last, eat what rest. Punching system: Electronic system SportIDENT is used for all clases. If it fails, use mechanic punchers to R-fields on map. Then in finish announce this to main referee. Control descriptions: in CC by selfservice on startlist board. No descriptions on maps! We use different colors for descriptions on each stage: E1 white, E2 pink, E3 yellow. Start lists: Will be published in CC and on the web page on 2nd AUG. Classes HDR (parents with kids), P and T start anytime till starttime 200 using SI unit START. Maps: All maps was made in ISOM 2000 by Tomáš Leštínský. Printed on laser printer. Special symbols: O distinctive tree, X root stock, X old rusty cage Maps are not waterprooved. Maps are able to take in last box on the start, where will be prepared a waterproove map bags. Organisation of the start: First box (-3 minutes) use competitor the CLEAR SI unit and will be marked in starter s list. In 2nd box (-2 minutes) use competitor a CHECK SI unit and in 3rd (last) box (-1 minute) take his map and prepare in silence to his race. Organisation of the finish: In finish competitor finish his race by punch a SI unit FINISH (in czech CÍL ), then he read-out his SI card at registration in CC including competitors who give up the race. Maps you can keep, so please be fair and don t show it to other competitors. Refreshment in finish: In 100m far from finish there is a water or water with syrup. Finish2 for HDR in E2 has no refreshment. Forbidden areas: New clearings, fences, private estates (olive green). Forrest on north side of the road Adršpach-Teplice is a competition area, so don t step inside if you re not just compeeting. Path through this area form CC to temporary parking is free to use (no restrictions). Shoes: No restrictions, you can use any shoes you want. Kindergarten: We organise a babysitting for small kids during competition time each day in CC. Don t let your kids alone with us so long, thank you! Protests: in written form with fee 200 CZK given to main referee Medical service: basic care in finish, serious injuries in hospital in Trutnov or Nachod. Results: Will be published in CC on result board, after the stage is over we publish the overall results and all the results we put on the internet. For final results we use a ranking system. It means that the TIMES ARE NOT COUNTED TOGETHER, but in each stage the competitor recieve points according formula : POINTS = 100*[(2*T - t)/t], where T means winner time and t means competitor time. If competitor reach double winner time or more, he has 0 points. Points of each stage are added together, who recieve during the competition the highest amount of points, he wins. Expected winner times: according Competiton rules of ČSOS, E1 shorter middle, E2 longer middle, E3 shorter long distance. In real, using data of course testing: winner E1 H35A 28 min, E2 H21A 37 min, E3 H21A 58 min Pricegiving: E1 and E2 we announce only winners of all classes except P, T, HDR at 19:00 in CC. Final results first three in each class except P, T, HDR, start at 14:00.

4 Notice: We compeete according the orienteering rules. All competitors participate on their own risk. Responsibility for younger then 18 have their parents. Wander book: During competition you can recieve these wander cards: Absolvent card ADVANTA Cup 2017 Team card KOB Dobruška Absolvent card recieve everybody for free on registration desk (check it out in your envelope). Team cards you recieve for free if you show us a split times of your race. Path is for cyclo and foot only, after 2 km it turns to forrest. At the end there is a huge steep slope. Start 2 for classes H10, H12, D10, D12, HDR, P Start is situated close to CC, right next to railroad crossing. Be very careful about the train! Path is not marked, from a camp s gate it s visible. Distances: CC start 1: 2400 m/60 m (převýšení je na posledních 100 metrech) CC finish 1: 2200 m Will be possible to put out your clothes under the slope. Way from finish leads through this spot. A tent with after-race/before-race refreshment (water, syrup) is situated here. CC start 2: 50 m CC finish 2: 200 m. No refreshment directly in finish2, water or syrup is in start 2 tent (path from finish 2 to CC leads this way) Map: start 1: Lada, 1:5000, E 5 m, surveyed summer 2017, A4 start 2: Pod Borkem, 1:5000, E 5 m, surveyed summer 2017, A4 Terrain: Start 1: hilly rocky town, clear forrest, in some areas lowered visibility Start 2: clean hilly forrest, several stones, thickets Time limit: 60 minutes Finish closing at: 19:00 Notice: Take maximal care during crossing the railway! Start 1 is in quite narrow place, please be considerate and don t hurt slower and weaker competitors.

5 E2 run and climb Date: 5th AUG 2017 Type: middle Starts: 00 = 9:00 Start 1 all except HDR Start 2 for HDR Start is situated close to CC, right next to railroad crossing. Be very careful about the train! Path is not marked, from a camp s gate it s visible. In the same place is start for TrailO. Distances: CC start 1: 1500 m CC finish 1: 1500 m Is possible to put out your clothes in Finish1 (Start 1 and Finish 1 are on almost the same spot. A tent with after-race/before-race refreshment (water, syrup) is situated here. CC start 2: 50 m CC finish 2: 1000 m. Competitors return from finish 2 using unmarked tourist route (schematicly marked on competitor s map). There is no refreshment in finish 2. E3 still rocky Date: 6th AUG 2017 Type: long distance Start: 00 = 9:00, path is marked by blue-white stripes Distances: CC start: 600 m/30 m CC finish: 50 m Map: Borek, 1:10000, E 5 m, surveyed summer 2017, A4 Terrain: clean hilly forrest, several stones, thickets Time limit: 120 minutes Finish closing at: 14:00 Refreshment: Long courses (D21A, H21A, H21B, H35A) have on leg a refreshment point (water) Notice: Pick the right map start! After some cyclorace there is a lot of new paths in the forrest. In the south of the competition area there is an archery competition! Take maximal care during crossing the railway to start/from finish and during the race! Good speed and good luck!

9 Accompanying programm Beer relay Milky way championship winner is everybody Parents who are worry about a moral growing of their kids, be informed that there is a lot of tourist destinations around the CC during this race. Date: 5th AUG 2017 Entries: at registration desk till Saturday 15:30 Starting fee: 250 CZK per relay Start: 00 = 16:00, mass Registration desk: till 15:30 in CC Event centrum: behind the railway crossing, 50m far form CC Map: Pivní Bučnice, 1:5000, E 5 m, ISOM 2000, not waterprooved. Terrain: hilly and stony white forrest Classes: beer boys, spirit girls, outsiders (drink Birell or other non-alcoholic beer). Dividing to classes is just for pricegiving purposes. Control descriptions: printed on map Race system: Four rounds system - in first round start all teams - quaterfinal 16 best in 1st round - semifinal 8 best in quaterfinal - to final is passing 4 best relays. If there is someone from Outsiders, next place behind it is in final too. 1st-3rd round: After the start signal the first guy in relay drink one bottle beer (girls one big shot) and finish his course. Then he pass the SI card to next member of the relay. He does the same, the last don t passing Sicard but punches FINISH. Each leg has it s own map. Beware of codes! Final: Same system as previous, but in finish (before the change) cometitor drinks next beer/shot = each leg in final drinks two beers/shots. Change is possible only after the 2nd beer is done. Winner is the relay who puts an empty beer bottle on the table at the first. Pricegiving: Right after the race. Committee: Radim Hošek, Tomáš Leštínský Accompanying programm Beer ultralong winner is thirst Date: during all the competition Place: camp Bučnice, party tent and kiosk Start: Thursday after the organisers come to CC Finish: Sunday 13:00 +- Punching: SPORTIdent, if it fails, we don t care. If your SIcard stop working, probably it s memory is full and it needs to punch CLEAR. In this case please look for any organiser. In your own responsibility, clear your SI card right after you read-out it after the race. In late night is chance to find the organiser almost unreal. Rules: If you buy in CC a beer, you re able to punch the SI unit BEER. Punch just once even in case that you bought more beers. Winner of this competition is competitor with the biggest amount of bought (and hopefuly drinked) beers. If there are two drinkers with the same amount of beers, the better one is the guy who bought his last beer first. Pricegiving: At the end of pricegiving ceremony of Advanta Cup, first three will get a small price.

Parking: use parking close to Teplice rocks, in event centre there is almost no possibility to park. Distance from Parking Teplice rocks to CC is 500 meters using nice bicycle path. Limit: none, be there as long as you want to Protests: no, except a wrong re-writed answers form the card Pricegiving: Merged results of E1+E2 on Sunday at 14:00 E1 Date: 5th AUG 2017 Start: 9:00 13:00, come anytime between this times Distances: CC - Start=Finish 50 m to uphill on stony path by the railway crossing. Assistents are strongly recommended! Map: Pivní Bučnice, 1:5000, E 5 m, ISOM 2000, zoomed basic map 1:10000, A5 Course: 0.7 km, 15 controls, almost no climbing Terrain: Stones, rocks, contours Path: forrest path, several roots, sometimes little stones, almost in good condition. Assistant is a good idea. End of the race: on 13:30 because of beer relays. E2 Date: 6th AUG 2017 Start: 9:00 13:00, come anytime between this times Vzdálenosti: Centrum=Start=Finish, all is in CC Map: Kemp Bučnice, 1:5000, E 5 m, ISSOM 2007, new map, A5 Course: 0.9 km, 16 controls, no climbing Terrain: Thickets, stones, rocks, camping area Path: Asphalt. Assistant is not needed End of the race: at 13:30 because of pricegiving ceremony. Technical info to both races: It s a A-Z quiz, it means there are olny two possible answers: A (flag is where it should be) or Z (flag is somewhere else) Competitor card and map are printet together on one paper (like on the picture here). Map is given to competitor in start tent after he pays a starting fee 50 CZK. Please, prepare for yourself a 50 CZK coin. Punching is made by pin, or any other similar tool into the yellow/green boxes on the left on the card (you will get your pin together with map, please return it after the race) Map/card must be given to organiser on finish. Maps will be available when the race is over in CC. Results and solution will be available after the race on the result board and on the internet. Time control (five flags, A-E, no Z) should be solved before the race. During the race are competitors asked to walk only on paths and roads. Dont step into the terrain, iyou re will be disqualified. Please respect a tape on the path which means no entry, on map it is a thick purple line. Don t disturb other competitors during the race by talk.
