2 WELCOME TO TOO COLD TO HOLD 5K, 10K & HALF 2018 RUN PROJECT SERIES COURSES Half Marathon starts at 8AM- NO LATE STARTS 5K & 10K starts at 8:30 AM- NO LATE STARTS The Half Marathon - Timed Event- 4 hr. time limit The Half Marathon course is a great one. With the widened pathways on the west side of the Lake, runners will enjoy great views and some elbow room. The course starts the same as the 10K, but continues south past the 10K turnaround. Runners will stay on the bike path past Tee Pee Hill, run past the White Rock Dam (next to Garland Rd), and then north on the path next to East Lawther and the Arboretum. The Half Marathon will turnaround just before the Winfrey Point parking lot and meet back up with the 10K and 5K to finish. NOTE: The Half Marathon course closes at 12 noon. You must be at the Half turnaround point near Winfrey Point by 10am to stay on the course. The 5K- Timed event The 5K course goes under the Buckner Bridge and turns to go south on E Lawther Dr. The 5K continues south passing Big Thicket and will turn around after passing the Corinthian Sailing Club. The 5K will then return on the same route and finish. NOTE: Any runners starting at 8:00am with the Half Marathoners will be Disqualified. 5K & 10K runners must start at 8:30. The 10K Timed Event The 10K course goes under the Northwest Highway Bridge and turns south on the bike path along West Lawther until the turnaround point located just before Fisher Rd. Runners will meet backup with the 5K course and finish along the same route. NOTE: Any runners starting at 8:00am with the Half Marathoners will be Disqualified. 5K & 10K runners must start at 8:30. PARKING Parking is always a challenge at White Rock Lake. Please note the venue will have limited parking so please plan to take Dart, ride share or ride you bike to the site. Parking map is provided near the venue. Please do not park in the NO PARKING areas and or illegally park. You could get a ticket. Be aware of the time it may take to park and actually walk to the venue. There is a record crowd and we will have NO LATE STARTS Bag Check and Bike Parking We will provide bag check near the entrance of the venue and can secure bicycles as well. Look for the Two Men and a Truck.
