It was a wet start for the 47th Annual Naples Boat Show. The rain fell for nearly 48 hours straight at the Florida Sports Park, new home of the Naples Boat Show.

The rain continued through the first day of the show.

By Friday the storm clouds were gone and for Saturday and Sunday, there was not a cloud in sight. The relocation of the Naples Boat Show was an unfortunate but inevitable change.

The Florida Sports Park, under hefty renovation including road construction and an immense housing development project going up all around them, is only 5.

1 It was a wet start for the 47th Annual Naples Boat Show. The rain fell for nearly 48 hours straight at the Florida Sports Park, new home of the Naples Boat Show. A handful of vendors lay trapped in the snow and ice in the North, and at the show, it quickly became a race against the rain to drain and mulch the grounds for a seamless opening day. The rain continued through the first day of the show. But despite the weather, a surprising number of die-hard boaters says show staff, braved the storm in their rain gear just to be the first to nab the boat show deals. By Friday the storm clouds were gone and for Saturday and Sunday, there was not a cloud in sight. The relocation of the Naples Boat Show was an unfortunate but inevitable change. After the sale of the Depot Property last year, show management exhaustingly researched sites to host the annual show. The Florida Sports Park, under hefty renovation including road construction and an immense housing development project going up all around them, is only 5.4 miles from the previous location and only 5 miles off I-75. The Florida Sports Park offers the Naples Boat Show a 7,000sqft airconditioned exhibition hall, paved outdoor vendor exhibition space, 4+ acres of field exhibition (which will go under construction for improvement next month), and over 6 acres of parking. The potential of this location is limitless. The staff at the Florida Sports Park was overly accommodating and General Manager, Chris Dupree is stellar to work with says Sawyer. Despite Mother Nature s attempts at sabotage and the pains of relocation, the 47th Annual Naples Boat Show produced outstanding results. Product was sold, numerous watercraft sold, and an abundance of leads confirmed. It was a great show and will be even better next year says MI- ACC President, Frank Perrucci. A National Recreation and Parks Association certified leisure professional, she will direct the membership and marketing divisions at this exclusive yacht club in Naples.

She previously worked with Stock Development as Vice President of Lifestyle Development for properties such as The Player s Club & Spa, The Club at Grandezza, and The Club at Olde Cypress.

Pedit held prior management positions with Lexington Country Club in Fort Myers, Del Tura Country Club and Heron s Glen Country Club, both in North Fort Myers.

A National Recreation and Parks Association certified leisure professional, she will direct the membership and marketing divisions at this exclusive yacht club in Naples. Pedit was employed at Colonial Country Club in Fort Myers the last seven years. She previously worked with Stock Development as Vice President of Lifestyle Development for properties such as The Player s Club & Spa, The Club at Grandezza, and The Club at Olde Cypress. This also included time spent as Corporate Director of Membership Services & Lifestyle with HDG at The Club at The Strand in Naples. Pedit held prior management positions with Lexington Country Club in Fort Myers, Del Tura Country Club and Heron s Glen Country Club, both in North Fort Myers. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Community Recreation and Leisure Administration from York College of Pennsylvania. Marine Industries Promoting Access for Citizens In 2002 the Marine Industries Association of Collier County formed a Political Action Committee named Marine Industries Promoting Access for Citizens (MIPAC). This action was taken so that we can support issues and legislative candidates who assist the goals and purposes of the marine industries community. On a quarterly basis, the MIPAC seeks donations of $50.00 from Upcoming Events Miami Boat Show Valentines Day Sharks of Southwest Florida Forum MarineMax Electronics Class MarineMax Charting & Plotting Class each member. The MIPAC s missions and goals are to act upon problematic issues that must be addressed at the legislative level for the growth and protection of the marine industry. Monies collected from the MIPAC donations are used in supporting political decision makers that will tackle the very issues that affect all members of our industry. As a good steward of our member s donations, MIPAC adheres to uniform contribution criteria when determining how much and February 13th-17th February 14th February 24th March 15th April 5th to which candidate assistance is allocated. MIPAC will educate you about the political landscape and issues facing our organization and will strategize political impact.
