8 WOSC 2016 Helping to keep WOSC a great sailing club At WOSC we expect every member to do their duty, this is what makes the club so family orientated and fun and also keeps the membership fees very reasonable. When you joined you agreed to help and helping is great fun, you get to learn new skills and is very rewarding. The race officer (OOD) and team Club racing is run by members who give up their time to ensure that the races are run efficiently and effectively, provide a great course for the conditions and a set of result that we can celebrate or drown our sorrows in the bar after racing. Mike Radford checks all the results and uploads them to the website for all to see, the best results service of any sailing club in the country. The team that supports the OOD are vital to ensure that all runs smoothly, so please look out for your duty and make sure it is in your diary. Galley The club galley service provides great food on Sundays, except during August when there is no galley service. Volunteering to provide lunch is a great way to get to know people at the club and is fun for the whole family. The menu is published on the website and the lunch normally costs Contact: Mike Gale: leahcimgale@yahoo.co.uk Stig Topp-Jorgensen: S.Topp-Jorgensen1@physics.ox.ac.uk 8
