2 YOUR DOWNWIND CAMP SUMMARY Guy Ringrave will support you throughout the course of your training. Passionate about outrigger canoeing since 2005, Guy is one of the pioneers of the sport both in France and in Europe. His passion has led him to the production of outriggers, which he manufactures under the brand name WOO. Today, WOO s outrigger canoes are considered the highest-performing models on the market. Benôit Arribat your second coach paddle outrigger canoe in conmpetition since 4 years. The rest of the year, Benoît is the physical and mental coach for the Olympique French sailing team. He can set up a program of muscular strengthening suited to your need for the duration of the Downwind camp! P R A C T I C E T H E O U T R I G G E R C A N O E I N A N I D Y L L I C S P O T 6 days / 7 nights limited at 12 persons / week Arrival : saturday D Departure : saturday D+7 No activity on days of arrival & departure Home leaving generally at 12h,depending on flights schedules Saint François - South East point of" Grande terre" - Guadeloupe The lagoon of Saint François is a haven of relaxation overlooking the beautiful lake of the Anse Champagne. Well protected by the barrier reef and gently caressed by the trade winds, fans of Downwind will enjoy their downwind session. A true bohemian and relaxed Caribbean atmosphere reigns in Saint François, a perfect mix for a downwind camp in the sun! Prestigious villa of 249m ² at 300m from the lagoon with panoramic view and having a tropical garden of 5000m ². 5 bedrooms / 4 bathrooms. Infinity pool of 20m long, barbecue, air conditioning, billiards. In addition to your trips at sea, you can enjoy your free time thanks to the location of the villa and its exceptional comfort. Bicycles are available to visit the surroundings. Daily cleaning of common areas. The organization of meals within the villa is managed by the group of trainees. Usually, trainees decide together meals and organize themselves for preparation. Mini markets are close to the villa for shopping. 6 half-days of downwind, from sunday to friday. «Free time» the rest of the day

3 USEFUL INFORMATION Flight Three airlines serve Guadeloupe from Paris (Air France, Corsair and Air Caraïbes), Nantes and Lyon. (Count 8 hours of flight one way, in day flights, and a little more than 7 hours on the return, in night flights). Air Canada and American Air ines also serve Pointe à Pitre. Airport- Villa transfer Once arrived at the Pointe-à-Pitre airport (Guadeloupe), you are taken care of by the WOO team who will take you to the villa. It will also handle the return transfer (last departure at 12h). Time difference (from the metropolis): 6 hours in summer, 5 hours in winter. Formalities Identity National Card or Passport valid (systematic identity checks at departure and arrival). No visa required for French and Europeans. Change Of course, it's the Euro, with the same banks as in France, and Cashpoints everywhere. Health No vaccine required. No dangerous animals and especially no snakes. Downwind Camp Period : Outside school holidays. Period also called "carême": good weather and refreshing trade winds. Personal equipment For your comfort : Small pharmacy kit against the sores, personal drugs, anti-mosquito products. It is also convenient to have a headlamp. For the downwind : Provide paddle (mandatory), booties and closed basketball shoes to enjoy the many walks. Be carreful of the sun! Get very effective sun protection. Take at least one long-sleeved lycra t-shirt, hat or cap, sunglasses (with ties), and towel and swimsuit. Guadeloupe is located in a tropical area, the presence of mosquitoes is common, provide a mosquito repellent and creams for the evening.

4 PRACTICES LEVELS I N I T I A T I O N This workshop aims to allow you, within 6 days, to get accustomed to the outrigger, to acquire the paddling techniques and to start getting initiated in the practice of downwind. You will paddle the world champion outrigger. Made of carbon, it weighs no more than 22 pounds/10 kilograms for its 20.7 foot/6.30 meter length. Level required : This week-long workshop is aimed at people who are physically in shape. No need to be a high-level athlete but practicing an endurance sport is recommended. If you regularly jog, cycle, mountain bike, swim or are adept at boardsport such as windsurfing, snowboarding, skating, etc You will be awed by the sensations which outrigger canoeing offers. I M P R O V E M E N T You are the owner of an OC1 or you practice regularly in a club and you wish to begin the downwind practice in complete safety, then this workshop is for you! Level required : You must be capable of paddling 12.4 miles at an average speed of 5 miles/h (8km/h) minimum. C O M P E T I T I O N You are a «committed» fan of Downwinds and you wish to take advantage of regular winds to cover maximum distances each week. You would also like to join local paddlers on downwind races on the weekend. program : Each day will be organized in accordance with the wind conditions and discussed with all of the workshop participants.
