Line laser and ROV porch grating orientation with respect to ROV heading 2. Wally 1 has been moved to Waypoint #18 Ship Procedure 1. Transit to site, assess weather and sea state. Proceed only when it is safe to do so 2. Deploy ROV USBL pole ACTION LATITUDE LONGITUDE DEPTH (m) Descend at Barkley Hydrates IP 48 o o Ascent at Barkley Hydrates IP 48 o o Shore Procedure 1. Monitor Twitter feed Communications With Shore 1. On-board team will tweet twitter account at the beginning of the dive 2. Post the dive plan on the cruise website 3. On-board team will use intercom during operations as required Navigation 1. Record positions of the deployed platforms and satellite instruments 2. Guide visual transect 3. Start recording, start streaming video to UVic, start dive log, confirm both are being received 2. Descend ROV at Barkley Hydrates IP to landing zone. Care must be taken watching for Wally tether Wally 1 cable recovery preparations 1. Transit to Wally cable 2. Weigh down Wally cable using carabineer chains 3. Transit to Barkley Hydrates IP Visual IP Inspection 1. Locate IP and take a visual of the frame and instruments from all sides, checking for any potential issues: a. Ground anode connected to JB b. Sediment build-up on platform and feet c. Bungees, rope, and cable ties d. Galvanized hardware and brackets (JB hardware and brackets) e. Cables, specifically in areas with potential wear f. JB connectors g. IP uplink cable 2. Evaluate cables (uplink and downlink) in vicinity of IP to get a sense of landing zone tolerances for connectivity on future redeployment Reroute Wally Track 1. Fly to Wallyland marker #10 2. Follow Wally tracks heading East for 2 metres 3. Place Road Sign WW 24_2014 (4 circular symbols) 1 metre north of the existing tracks. Symbols on sign should be facing South East 4. Record position of WW 24_ Deploy new marker #21 1 metre north of Road Sign WW 24_ Record position of new marker #21 7. Fly to Wallyland marker #14 and then head north to most northern Wally tracks 8. Place Road Sign WW 23_2014 (Checkerboard) 1 metre north of the existing tracks. Checkerboard symbol should be facing South 9. Record position of WW 23_ Deploy new marker #27 1 metre north of Road Sign WW 24_2014

Stop at this point Place Road Sign WW 25_2014 (16 small circular symbols) 1 metre North of the existing tracks. Symbols on sign should be facing North West Record position of WW 25_2014 Deploy new marker #31 1 metre north of Road Sign WW 25_2014 Record position of new marker #31 Turn around, follow existing tracks, and deploy new markers #30, #29 and #28 between #31 and #27/WW 23_2014 (Checkerboard), either spaced evenly or at strategic turns of the track Record positions of new markers #30, #29 and #28 Continue to follow existing tracks past Checkerboard, and deploy new markers #26 and #22 between #27/WW 23_2014 (Checkerboard) and #21/WW 24_2014 (Road sign with large symbols), either spaced evenly or at strategic turns of the track Wally Camera Road Signs WW 23_2014, WW 24_2014, WW 25_2014 Inspection of Mairi s Shell & Wood Experiments. 1. Navigate to Markers #9 & #16. (Numbers from Mairi) 2. Video wood and shells as directed by Mairi Best (overview and close-ups) Recover Wally I 1. System confirm powered down JB-07 port J7 2. Disconnect Wally from Port J7 on IP 3. Disconnect strain (kellum) relief between Wally cable and IP 4. Plug dust cap into connector port 5. Place cable end next to Wally and secure
