25 WEI.L ABSTRACT Elcano North Hargrave WPM was planned as a step out Lodgepole test following on the success of producing wells located at I WPM and WPM. Although not confirmed by core, the target reservoir was thought to bc a microcrystalline limestone with intercrystalline and pinpoint vug porosity. Once underway, drilling operations progressed quite quickly. Drill cutting sample collection began at 4m. Geological markers were seen at elevations close to prognosis with no significant deviations. The top of the Lodgepole was picl ed on the appearance of a grey, blocky, microcrystalline dolomite at 56mKB. A subtle gas kick at 565mKB corresponded to the development of increased porosity and the appearance of some vuggy porosity. This vuggy porosity and the corresponding weak show was interpreted as being the target zone. The mKB sample exhibited a hydrocarbon odor and a very weak hydrocarbon sheen in the sample wash. There was some florescence present. However, selected cuttings did not exhibit any cut when subjected to solvent. Subsequent wireline logging confirmed the existence of the target zone. Wireline logs indicated that the zone was a dolomite with porosity of approximately 5%. Thc zone was quite thin (approximately.5m). Induction logging showed high resistivity across the zone. Induction data may be suspect due to the thinness of the target zone. Total depth was called at 62mKB after samples confirmed the bits passage into the Scallion Member of the Lodgepole formation. Although thin, the target reservoir was present with a thick and tight cap rock overlying the potential reservoir. The decision was made to run production casing to facilitate production testing of the targeted Lodgepole rcscrvoir.

43 WEI.L ABSTRACT Elcano North Hargrave WPM was planned as a step out Lodgepole test following on the success of producing wells located at I WPM and WPM.

Hold pressure for 3 minutes after landing the plug, then bleed off the pressure and ensure the float is holding. If float equipment does not hold, repressure to MPa above displacement pressure and close valve on head. Install a pressure guage. Monitor and maintain this pressure as required while waiting on cement eight hours. Note: A4A 4 L sample of mixing water will be obtained in order to test production casing cement. This recommendation is to be used as a guide only. Job conditions and field experience expenence must dictate actual lob job procedures. For an Optimum Slurry Temperature the Mixing Water should be 2 o 'C. During Dunng any Cement job slurry should not be allowed to remain static in the annulus for longer than 2 minutes. A real risk nsk of having the cement gel exists and precautions must be taken. Pressure Test surface treating lines to 2 MPa or % above the maximum expected pressure. CAUTION: THE MAXIMUMPRESSURE REACHED, INCLUDING PRESSURE TESTING, WILL NOT EXCEED THE WORKING PRESSURE OF THE LOWEST RATED COMPONENT IN THE SYSTEM BEING PRESSURIZED. 5. Establish circulation and reciprocate the casing with a 3 to 4 m stroke throughout the cementing operation. 6. Release a Bottom wiper plug (if required) and pump the following at m3/min: 4 m3 Water 3 m3 Scavenger Varioem VariCem Lead mixed at 25 kg/m3 ( Yield = 2.73 and WR = 2.32 ).7 m3 Varioem VariCem Lead mixed at kg/m m3 VariCem Varioem Tail mixed at kg/m3 7. Do not pump cement out of the surface lines. ) Stop mixing and empty tub. 2) Shut in valve on plug loading head and open valve on pump-out tee. 3) Pump fresh water through tub to ensure tub will not set up during displacement period. 4) Shut in recirculation valve on mix tub and set valves on unit to boost displacement from displacement tanks. 5) Boost the HT4's and pump out through the secured lines at 5L/min 5)Jmin until there is clean fresh water emerging from the pump out line. 6) Shut valve on pump out tee and open valve on plug loading head and release the plug. 7) Manually record the volume pumped while displacing. 8. Release the Top wiper plug and displace 8.7m3 water. Slow down rate prior to bumping plug to 3.5 MPa above displacement pressure. 9. Note: This recommendation is to be used as a guide only.
