12 WATERTIGHT AND SPLASH TIGHT DOORS Seanet is the only company to offer splashtight doors that are fully approved up to 3.5 m head of water above bulkhead As Remotely power operated watertight doors A60 rated, but as hinged doors can be treated like simple fire doors, without having big impact on the GA and on main escape route, considerably increasing ship stability. 11

13 WATERTIGHT DOORS ON THE FIELD As all of us well know, casualties found their causes in Human factor causes most of the injuries and deaths are connected to human mistakes such as massive-useless use of automatic doors closed from the bridge, or passing through a door moving. In a lot of situations doors have been left opened at sea. Technical causes: malfunctioning and tampering are the most important factor always linked to a un-proper maintenance and service. 12

14 WATERTIGHT DOORS ON THE FIELD Seanet, as a door manufacturer, is focusing her S&D efforts improving door safety - our doors are certified to be equipped with our certified safety sensor to prevent injuries, already fitted on a lot of vessels - our doors have been designed with no special maintenance in the first 5 years or operations. - our electric doors move with a modulated force in order to minimize injuries - we organize a service and operating training for Staffs on board and in our workshops. 20 CONCLUSIONS Watertight doors are fully certified at the first commissioning on board. But..no other steps are officially required in the vessels lifecycle. 19

21 CONCLUSIONS Seanet WTD are steel to steel, and Costa Concordia doors, designed for five years without a special maintenance, had been officially working absolutely watertight preventing a real human disaster. 20

22 CONCLUSIONS In the Aviation whatever is essential to prevent a disaster is to be : - continuously maintained and - requires a periodic third party certification. 21
