Fourth on the Shore-- This is a very exciting event for the club! We have a lot planned but still need support from the members as volunteers as well as attendees so if you are sticking around town for the Fourth of July please stop down at the club during the day to enjoy some music, food, a beverage and great company!! The parking lot will be reserved for members only parking so please have your membership card handy. After the fireworks stay for the bonfire. We will also be opening up the grounds for camping again this year for tents and campers. In May, we had a lot of great events! Paula once again threw a spectacular party for the Kentucky Derby! Dick Kornely & Crew hosted an INCREDIBLE Steak Night; they served 105 lbs of shrimp and served 130+ people!! It was our biggest Steak Night of the year! Dick also headed Couples Steak Night and Hamburger Thursday, took care of the ceiling in the office and purchased some new shelving units for the basement. Thanks Dick for all your hard work! Thank you to Ron Schmidt and John Glaeser for being available for daytime appointments while I am at work, it is much appreciated! June Steak Night will be hosted by Ed Hansen; all the officers, board members and apprentices have been stepping up, sponsoring and helping out at steak nights. There are a couple months that are still in need of sponsors, if interested please sign up on the blue Steak Night sheet on the bulletin board. We have been having a great turnout every month so I would hate for any of them to be canceled. Also in June, Jerry Hein is once again hosting the Annual Boat Show. He does an excellent job organizing and running this event each year; please stop down on June 20. We already have a full list of volunteers thanks to all the apprentices. They will be grilling burgers and selling beverages outside. During the summer we have an abundant amount of this issue Committee News June and July Calendars Upcoming Events Parties; Jim Kocian does an outstanding job managing all of these on top of coordinating everything for Friday Night dining. A lot of time goes into all of this so if you see Jim make sure to thank him for everything he does for the club! Thanks Jim!! Just a reminder that NO ONE is allowed behind the bar when there are hired bartenders, special events (i.e. Hamburger Night) or during membership meetings. If you need something from behind the bar (change, microphone, etc.) please ask and the bartenders will help you. Also if apprentices are bartending please be respectful and patient, everyone had to learn the bar at one point. It gets crowded behind the bar fast, as a rule of thumb no more than four behind the bar at a time, this helps things move along more quickly. The sailboats are being taken out of storage this Saturday June 6 at 9am, we have four signed up but could use at least 2 more. There will be Open Sailing Wednesdays & Thursdays all summer, please check the online calendar. Heidi

Beautiful job! House Committee Jim Kocian, Chairman I want to thank Dick Kornely and Mike Kouba for helping the club on Friday nights with our new Alto Shamm. We are learning this new piece of equipment, so your patience is appreciated. I also want to give a shout out to our Thursday night veggie crew. I have new work hours and have to lean more then usual on some of the crew namely; Jerry and Wendy Krueger. They and the rest of the crew are what the club is about; working together! Just a friendly reminder when working in the galley if you don t know where some things go just leave it out so it can be put back in it s proper place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at Ladies Auxiliary Sandy Murray, President The Ladies' Auxiliary met on May 4 at the Courthouse Pub for their annual banquet. A wonderful dinner was enjoyed by all, followed by a short meeting to wrap up the year. The Auxiliary will now take a break for the summer until meetings resume again in September. We wish you all a long, hot summer! As always, if anyone is interested in joining our club, please contact me. You are welcome to attend one of our meetings on the first Monday of the month at 6:30 p.m. and find out what we are all about. Or contact Ann Meidl at if you have any questions. Social Committee Paula Feest, Chairman May was a busy month at the club, starting off with the Kentucky Derby. We had a great turnout. There were many colorful hats, lots of mint juleps, and lots of betting on horses. Congratulations to Jan Van Eycke for winning Best Hat. Jan walked away with a dozen beautiful red roses. Right behind that, we had 2 steak nights, sponsored by Dick Kornely and his crew, couples steak night and steak and shrimp night. Both events were very successful. We also had our last Hamburger/chili Thursday of the season. A big thank you to Dick Kornely, Jerry and Wendy Krueger for putting these on. We are looking forward to fall when they start up again. The month of June we have Steak night on the 9 th and our annual Boat Show June 20 & 21. This is an opportunity, if you have a boat to buy, sell, trade or swap, to come on down and make a deal. There will be hamburgers, brats and ice cold beer for sale on Saturday the 20 th. Come on down and take the time to support your club for this event. Thank you Jerry Hein for taking the lead on having this show every year; much appreciated. July 4 th, we will be having our BIGGEST EVENT of the year at the club, Fourth on the Shore. For this event, we need many members and apprentices to help volunteer. This is truly a CLUB FUNCTION. We need you!! There is a sign- up sheet on the board. We are very excited, for we have a band booked all the way from Michigan, Delilah DeWylde and The Lost Boys. Delilah and the Lost Boys remain committed to handcrafted American music that stands at the crossroads of creativity and craftsmanship, liberally drawing from honky tonk country, rockabilly and surf music. Delilah and the Lost Boys come out on stage looking and sounding like a step back in time. Dressed to the nines in the tradition of pre-color television, the band thrills audiences across the Midwest with its spirited performances. They take the stage at 12:30 3:30. Right after Delilah, we have on stage, Conscious Pilot from 3:30 7:30. Conscious Pilot is a rock band covering classics from The Rolling Stones, Gary Wright, and Edgar Winter to current rock by Maroon 5, The Foo Fighters, and Filter. We will be ending the night with the fireworks. There will be camping allowed on the grounds as in the past. So, come on down early to spend the day on the lakeshore listening to good music, with cold drinks, good food & most of all, good fun!!!! See you at the Club- Social Committee mycsocialcommittee@gmail.com
