1 ういてまて The 7 th Workshop on the Water Rescue and Survival Research November 3, 2018 Batam, Indonesia The Society of Water Rescue and Survival research the skills needed for victims in water related accidents Uitemate is an important motto to help survive sudden water accidents. When a person encounters a water related incident, it is vital to keep the air-way free by floating on their back (uite) and waiting for a rescuer to come to their assistance (mate). Uitemate challenges the current thought of water rescue to where the victim plays the leading role, not rescuer.

2 Welcome Message It is our great honor and pleasure to host the 2018 annual Water Rescue and Survival Research, Uitemate Workshop in Batam, Indonesia on November 3rd. The main theme of Uitemate 2018 is the skills needed for victims in water related accidents. Papers related to all the different aspects of water rescue and survival research are welcome. There will be sessions that address new theory, methodology and application related to water rescue and survival. This workshop also provides a training course to become an instructor of survival floating. This course is well-known in Japan and more than 2,500 instructors have been trained in the last decade. We are confident that every participant s intellectual pursuits will be satisfied with the scientific program, instructor course and social events that we are planning. We welcome all of you. You will be 4 km (2.5mi) from Nongsa Pura Ferry Terminal and 5.1 km (3.2mi) from Tamarin Santana Golf Club. Highlights at this beach front resort include 2 restaurants, 2bas/lounges, and a full-service spa. Places within 30-minute drive of this 3.5-star Nongsa resort include Dark Bike Park and Mega Legenda. Scientific program The uitemate 2018 program will be structured around sessions for oral and poster presentations. The primary theme will be the skills needed for victims in water related accidents, however other topics in water rescue and survival research field of study will be considered.

Registration fee for the instructor course includes handling of issue of the international instructor certificate and annual membership in the society of Water Rescue and Survival Research. Text books for the instructor course are separate from the course fee.
