2 SOCIAL EVENTS Welcome Reception September 4 (Tue), :00-20:00 ICC Kyoto 1F Garden The Noh Stage Tsuchi-gumo (Ground Spider) by OOE NOUGAKUDOU NOH Noh is one of the Japanese traditional art with its origin goes back to the 14th century. It can be said Japanese musical. The actors wearing masks called Noh-men act along with vocal music called Jiutai and instrumental music called Hayashi. The leading characters are mostly ghost. Get off at the Kiyomizu-michi stop or the Gojo-zaka stop and walk east 10 minutes. Kiyomizu-dera Temple: Kiyomizu-dera Temple is the most popular of all temples in Kyoto. We pass through the Deva Gate ( a temple gate guarded by fierce deities) and vivid red colored three-stories pagoda towers before us. The most popular spot in the temple precincts is the Kiyomizu platform made of Japanese zelkova pillars and cypress boards. The platform projecting out from the cliff is 12 meters in height. It offers a splendid view over city streets of Kyoto. (However, please note that Kiyomizu platform is currently under repair works/reconstruction and eyeshot of scenery will be somehow limited.)
