1 ABERDEEN DOLPHIN COMMONWEALTH STARS OF THE FUTURE (UNDER FINA AND SASA RULES) ABERDEEN AQUATICS CENTRE SUNDAY 25 MAY 2014 Aberdeen Dolphin Swimming Club are delighted to host Commonwealth Stars of the Future" at Aberdeen s new Aquatics Centre on 25th May ADSC have joined forces with Celebrate, the National Lottery s organisation established to celebrate the Commonwealth Games coming to Scotland. We are hosting a one day event to celebrate the forthcoming games and would like to offer as many swimmers as possible, across all ages and squads, the opportunity to compete in Commonwealth swimming related events in the new 50m pool. We hope to make the event as fun and competitive as possible. We also hope to inspire swimmers to continue in their journey for future North East Commonwealth glory! Meet Information POOL: 50 Metres, 10 Lanes, Long Course, Electronic Timing, Anti turbulence ropes. LICENCE NO: ND/L2/070/MAY14 ACCREDITATION: Accreditation will be applied for. SESSIONS: Session 1 Warm up 0830 Start 0940 Session 2 Warm up 1300 Start 1410 (All session times subject to change if necessary) AGE GROUPS: 8 / 11 years, 12 / 13 years, 14 years/over, Open All events are age on the day May 25 th 2014 EVENTS: See attached sheet The top ten boys and girls in each age group will be entered into the 200IM Final. The top 10 boy and girl swimmers from the Open 50m Free skins heats will be entered into the 50m Free skins event years 4 x 50m Medley and Free relays 14 years/over 4 x 100 Medley Relay 8 x 50 Cannon Relay Aberdeen Dolphin SC reserves the right to swim a slower heat for their swimmers and/or to fill empty lanes with their swimmers.

2 RELAY TEAMS: All relay teams are mixed and must include at least one boy or one girl. The relay teams for the 8 13 age group must include 2 swimmers from each age group ie 2 x 8 11 years and 2 x 12/13 years. The Canon Relay teams must include a boy and a girl from each age group ie 2 x 8 11years, 2 x 12/13 years 2 x 14 years and over and 2 x Open. In the Canon Relay the swimmers will swim in age order from youngest to open. ENTRIES: Times must be submitted as long course metre times. Conversions using Hy-Tek standard or ASA tables are acceptable. All entries must be made via Hytek and ed to galaconvenor@aberdeendolphin.co.uk Receipt of entry file will be confirmed by . Entry packs may be obtained by ing galaconvenor@aberdeendolphin.co.uk or downloaded from We are intending that Club entries will be entered into the meet on a first come, first accepted basis. We will endeavour to accept Club entries as a whole but this may be dependant on the numbers of entries received and any adjustments required to ensure the smooth running of the meet and a fair allocation of heats to all age groups. It is hoped that Clubs will enter swimmers from across all age groups and all squads. Entries will be closed once the Gala is full. The final date for entries though will be FRIDAY 25 TH APRIL Entries will not be accepted from composite teams. ENTRY FEES: 5.00 per individual event for entry into all relay events. It is hoped that clubs will enter at least one team into each relay event. Cheques to be made payable to Aberdeen Dolphin SC. WITHDRAWALS: Withdrawals prior to the event should be ed to galaconvenor@aberdeendolphin.co.uk to arrive by 6pm on Friday 23 rd May 2014 at the latest. Telephone withdrawals will not be accepted under any circumstances. Withdrawals on the day must be made to the recorders desk one hour prior to the start of the session.

3 WITHDRAWALS FROM FINALS: Swimmers who wish to withdraw from a final should inform the recorders table as soon as possible in order that a reserve may be given the opportunity to swim. PRESENTATIONS: Appropriate clothing must be worn for all presentations. SUMMARY SHEETS: A completed summary sheet is required to be submitted with the meet application. AWARDS: Medals for 1 st, 2 nd and 3 rd place will be presented to each individual age group from 8 years to 13 years and one for 14 years and over. There will be special awards for the winners of the 200IM finals and cash prizes of 50 for the winners of the 50 Free skins and 25 cash prize for the runners up. A Meet Trophy will be awarded to the Club scoring the most points. Points will be awarded from 10 points for 1 st down to 1 point for 10 th. There will be points awarded for all open events and the 200IM finals. Double points will be awarded for relays. No points will be awarded for the 50m skins. OFFICIALS: Please complete and return officials summary sheet to Sjwalker222@gmail.com by Friday 16 th May or with the meet entry. Lunch will be provided for all officials. COACHES PASS: Coaches meal passes are available for 5. Please complete appropriate section on the entry summary.

4 IMPORTANT NOTES: PHOTOGRAPHIC EQUIPMENT: Please note that anyone wishing to use photographic equipment (including cameras, ipads, etc) must register with the Meet Convener. Application should be made on the appropriate form and signed by a relevant Club Official. The use of mobile phones is only allowed in designated areas, and will not be permitted poolside or in the changing rooms. Unless Aberdeen Dolphin have been notified otherwise it is assumed that all parents of children attending the Meet give permission for their child to be photographed by approved parties including Meet Sponsors. SASA REGISTRATION: All swimmers must have paid the appropriate SASA fee for the current year. START SHEETS: All clubs will receive two copies of the start sheets for each session. Results will be sent electronically. STARTS: Over the top starts will be used where practical. Please note that no guarantee can be given by Aberdeen Dolphin Swimming Club that the event will take place at a particular time or any particular date and Aberdeen Dolphin Swimming Club reserves the right to reschedule the event without notice and without any liability for so doing. In the event of postponement, cancellation or abandonment of the event, refunds if any, will be made at the absolute discretion of Aberdeen Dolphin SC. Aberdeen Dolphin SC will have no legal liability to make a refund or to pay any form of consequential or indirect damage such as loss of enjoyment, travel and accommodation costs.
