This class encourages water movement with a teacher, preparing for independent swimming lessons into Duckling Stage 4. Comp Stage 9 NPTS Stage 9, Silver Challenge, Speed Swim Comp Stage 10 NPTS Stage 10, Gold Challenge, Speed Swim For children who wish to gain the ability to swim all the 4 strokes and be introduced to touch turns. Children must have completed Stage 8. For children who are at the early stages of competitive swimming. Children will further develop endurance swimming and have the ability to demonstrate correct starts and turns.

Chesterfield Swim Club To give participants on our swimming lessons the chance to progress into competitive swimming we have joined forces with Chesterfield Swimming Club.

4 Chesterfield Swim Club To give participants on our swimming lessons the chance to progress into competitive swimming we have joined forces with Chesterfield Swimming Club. If you are currently on our Stage 8, 9 or 10 you will be eligible to join the Chesterfield Swim Squad Academy. This is a separate course and any course fees need to be paid directly to Chesterfield Swimming Club. The costs are as follows: 1 hour session per week = 26 per month 2 hour sessions per week = 30 per month 3 hour sessions per week = 34 per month These sessions will help improve your stroke technique, stamina and speed and give you the opportunity to progress to county, regional and national level swimming.

Lesson Schedule Swimming lessons are provided on a rolling weekly basis for a minimum of 50 weeks in any given calendar year. All lessons are subject to availability. In unforeseen circumstances Go!

In unforeseen circumstances Go! Active reserve the right to cancel lesson(s) at short notice. While every effort will be made to rearrange cancelled lessons, this may not always be possible. A week festive break will be applied between Christmas and New Year. These dates will be advertised in advance, both in the centres and online at and via the swimming lesson portal. Go! Active reserve the right to amend the swimming lesson schedule at any time.

Participant Progression All participants will work within the Swim England learn to swim pathway. Our Swimming Instructors continually assess the participant s progression throughout the year.

The advancement of participants will be at the judgement of the Swimming Instructor and in accordance with the criteria of the Swim England learn to swim pathway. The speed of progression will depend on the ability of the participant. Upon completion of a level, parents/guardians will be notified via the Swim Portal and the allocation of new class placements will then be made depending on class availability. Due to the continuous progressive nature of our programme, we cannot guarantee a specific day or time slot on progression.

The Portal is a FREE online service open to everyone who attends our swimming lessons. As lessons are taught teachers who continually assess children will add updates within 48 hours, so you can track progress. (NB. not all areas of an award are assessed each week). 8 Adult Learn to Swim Be Water Confident The first stage of the ASA Adult Swimming Framework aims to give swimmers the confidence to get into the pool safely, be able to move around the pool with confidence, and not panic if splashed. Be a Swimmer The second stage of the ASA Adult Swimming Framework aims to give swimmers the skills necessary to start swimming independently over short distances without support or swimming aids. Be a Better Swimmer The third stage of the ASA Adult Swimming Framework aims to give swimmers the necessary skills to swim up to 400 metres independently, as well as the confidence to try other activities taking place in the pool including Aquacise or lane swimming.
