1 Swimmer of the Month for June Each month coaches from our age group program select a swimmer who has exceeded expectations based on a specific criteria. Congratulations to all our swimmer of the month winners for May! See below for the June criteria: Team Spirit Through training and racing, finding moments to lead team cheers, congratulate a teammate and generally be a positive model for our team.

2 TREX C Kate Hogue and Nathan Gunn The winners for Swimmer of the Month for June, for the TREX C squad, are Kate Hogue and Nathan Gunn. Both swimmers have been essential in developing a strong sense of team spirit within the squad, not only this month but all year. Kate has always been one of the first swimmers to congratulate her team mates on their successes at swim meets, and encourage her peers to work hard during challenging workouts. Having won the Sprit Award for the Shouldice group last season, Nathan continued to bring his bubbly, energetic, spirit into this season, often cheering loudly for his team mates not only at swim meets, but during practice as well! Doing this was a sure way to make a challenging set more bearable and give his team mates the extra push they needed to swim just that much harder. Congratulations Kate and Nathan and congratulations to all the swimmers this year who earned swimmer of the month in any of the different categories. GO! DINOS! GO!

Both of these swimmers show incredible team spirit both in the pool and on deck.

3 TREX B Isabella and Maxwell Congratulations to Isabella and Maxwell on being named our June swimmers of the month! Both of these swimmers show incredible team spirit both in the pool and on deck. Whether it is cheering on their teammates at meets or just having a positive attitude during training, these DINOs know how to show their team spirit! Way to go DINOs!

4 TREX A Nicholas Duncan and Kaeleigh McLoed Congratulations to Nicholas Duncan and Kealeigh McLeod for earning SOM for June. They both showed a tremendous amount of Dino spirit over the past month and season. Both swimmers attended Trials in Lethbridge and fought hard to reach their goals. They are always kind to their teammates and are a pleasure to coach. Go Dinos! Coach Annabel

5 RED 12 A Maya Sanchez Congratulations to Mya Sanchez for earning Red 12A's final swimmer of the month award. Throughout this season, the only time Mya did not have a smile on her face was when she wore her fierce game face behind the blocks. At any other moment, Mya was there to laugh along with her friends, support her squad mates, and cheer for UCSC. Mya has been a positive force in the group, as both a competitor and a friend. And although next season she'll be moving to Edmonton, Mya will always be welcomed back as a Dino! Best of luck, Mya!

GOLD 14 Chase Verjee Voted by his teammates, Chase is the winner of June s Swimmer of the Month for demonstrating UCSC team spirit both in training and competition.

7 GOLD 14 Chase Verjee Voted by his teammates, Chase is the winner of June s Swimmer of the Month for demonstrating UCSC team spirit both in training and competition. Chase works hard to achieve success in his sport, but also takes interest in the success of his teammates. Both in competition and training Chase encourages his teammates to be their best. Congratulations Chase and good luck for the rest of the season!

GOLD 15 Shayla Pogany The final Swimmer of the Month for GOLD 15 is Shayla Pogany. Shayla (as you can see from the pic below) is and always has been a team player first and foremost.

9 GOLD 15 Shayla Pogany The final Swimmer of the Month for GOLD 15 is Shayla Pogany. Shayla (as you can see from the pic below) is and always has been a team player first and foremost. She has taken the summer off from racing to pursue her academics but remained an extremely positive member of our training group. All season long Shayla cheered and supported the outstanding performances of her teammates regardless of how she was doing. Prior to our team heading off to competition Shayla sat down the team and wished them all the best. She has been a leader in her attitude and actions and I know we will all miss her as she heads off to a University program next season.
