2 Thanet Swim Club is one of the South East s leading swimming clubs, offering quality swim coaching to all abilities, operating from Hartsdown & Ramsgate Leisure centres. We have about 250 active members across 7 swimming squads. We are managed by a Volunteer Committee and a staff of professionally qualified & paid ASA Coaches & Teachers. We are Swim21 accredited which is the Amateur Swimming Association s 'quality mark recognising that this club is committed to providing safe, effective and quality services for the benefits of our members. It is not just a 'badge of honour', it is the ASA's Club Development model a planning tool, based on the principles of Long Term Athlete Development enabling our club to help athletes, teachers, coaches and administrators to achieve their full potential.

3 Our Squads We offer a full range of swimming opportunities, with both competitive and non competitive squads, which include:- Intro Junior (Dolphin) Senior (Dolphin) Junior (Seahawk) Senior (Seahawk) Development Masters Our entry squad for swimmers at ASA level 6/7. To continue swimmer development, swimming twice per week. A competitive squad for ages 8-10 for those swimmers who also compete in other activities. Training up to three times per week. A competitive squad for ages for those swimmers who also compete in other activities. Training up to four times per week plus a land based training session. A competitive squad for ages 7 11, open to those swimmers who display the appropriate work ethic, meet the competitive criteria, make the required commitment to training and competition, and demonstrate a serious attitude required to become a top swimmer. Training up to five times per week plus a land based training session A competitive squad for ages 11 18, open to those swimmers who display the appropriate work ethic, meet the competitive criteria, make the required commitment to training and competition, and demonstrate a serious attitude required to become a top swimmer. Training up to nine times per week plus up to two land based training session. A non competitive squad for swimmers of all ages who want to learn to swim in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Swimming up to twice per week. A squad for our more mature but hardy swimmers who train up to twice per week

4 Our Achievements We are very proud of our achievements, which are significant for a swimming club that punches well above its weight. In 2014, the club had its first GB swimmer, who swam in the European Junior Championships. We are regular producers of National swimmers, with a team of 18 attending this years gala swimming multi events, coming away with 8 medals including one gold. At Regional level, we boast numerous winners across all age groups. Last year we came joint top of the club medal table with Guildford City a major swimming club. At County level, we are regularly competing for top club with Sevenoaks and Beckenham. Across the club, we have many swimmers with British rankings in the top 10, with many ranked No.1. We compete in the Premier Division of the National Arena League in the South of England Region. Our Seahawk squad compete in Division One and Dolphin squad in Division Two of the Kent Junior League which is for those swimmers aged 9 to 14 and every year we finish in the Top 3.

We have developed excellent relationships with local media and now regularly achieve coverage in the sports pages.
