1 July 2018 To the Marauder Football Family: As we near close to the official kick-off of the 2018 Football Season, I wanted to discuss some important information regarding many facets that go into making this a championship program. I have been thoroughly impressed with the dedication, work ethic, and coach-ability I have seen thus far, and I cannot tell you how excited the coaching staff is about the potential of the 2018 team, both on and off the field. On a number of occasions I have spoken with Coach Al about this being the best summer training since football began in We are certainly on our way to great things! As always please let me know if you have any questions or concerns at any point in time. This is our program! A) Pre-Season Testing Will take place Monday 7/23 Wednesday 7/25 (9 a.m. 11 a.m.) with Coach Al. This will be a tremendous opportunity to see the progress made over the course of the summer. The last yoga session will be on Monday from 11:00-11:45 a.m. (note time change) B) Equipment Issued: Helmet Shoulder Pads All Practice Gear All Game Gear Need to Purchase: Girdle w/pads (hip, butt and thigh included) They also make a Girdle with the kneepads in addition to the hip, butt and thigh if interested. Mouthpiece (I recommend you have a few at all times in case one is lost as no player can participate without a mouthpiece). Cleats

5 E) Transportation from Games I am going to request that the entire program travels to and from Maclay for the Georgia Christian and Aucilla Game. For the games in Macon, GA (9/28) and Jax (10/19) the players are free to travel with their families if so desired. F) Saturday Practices We are going to hold Saturday practices after all games with the exception of the following: Aucilla, Ace Charter, NFEI, and Bishop Snyder. The Saturday practice is the best way to help get rid of stiffness and soreness as well as provide a wonderful opportunity to get timely feedback on our performance in all phases of the game. We are going to practice from 8:30 11:00 and we will not be wearing any equipment. Instead, we will be watching our game film, preparing for our next opponent, working out, swimming and getting some restorative treatments. This is a wonderful recipe to heal the mind, body and spirit as we prepare to chase perfection! G) Sport Fee/Team Gear (Spirit Pack) The sport fee is $250. All players will be issued 2 pairs (Blue and Grey) of shorts and shirts (dry-fit) on Sunday July 29 th. This is the gear we will practice in for the 1 st week of preseason. H) Online Store The Full Press online store is up and running. This is a great way for parents and families to order any items of interest. Remember, the store is closing on Friday 7/20. Please share with family. Just a reminder that we will have plenty of items for sale in our game day gear tent. I) Big Brother Program With every great opportunity comes a wonderful responsibility and with that in mind, we are going to partner every Middle School Player with an Upper School Player in hopes that they can form a great friendship/mentorship as we work to unite the two programs in all facets. One School, One Program, One Mission, One Day at a Time! J) Team Leadership Council Will be comprised of at least one member of each class on the football team. We will be voting for captains during the second week of pre-season camp and then each grade not represented on the captaincy will then vote for a team council member to represent their respective grade. More to come!
6 K) Weight Training Classes Coach Al now has a variety of weight training classes so it would be great for all players to be in one of his courses during the season to allow for proper training, maintenance and safety of all players. On that note, you do not get academic credit for the course so please remember that when looking at your schedules and credits. Should not be an issue, but I just wanted to mention that. L) Locker Room Please clean out any and all items from the locker room by Wed 7/25 as the room will be cleaned the following few days 7/26 and 7/27. M) Clearance Please make sure you have completed the necessary steps at AthleticClearance.com. The detailed instructions were ed and is posted on our website at maclayfootballboosters.com. Please let me know if you have any questions. N) Website Please make sure to familiarize yourself with our team website (maclayfootballboosters.com) as this will be our primary vehicle for communication moving forward. I think that is it for now, but as I mentioned, please let me know if you have any questions or concerns about any aspect of the Maclay Football Program. Again, I am very excited and honored to be working with you all as we embark on our 12 th season of Maclay Football. As I told the team on many occasions, this is a wonderful time to be a Maclay Football Player and we are going to do everything possible to be men of great character, commitment and citizenship as we represent Maclay, both on and off the field. WIN THE DAY FAMILY ALL IN FINISH!
