2 Eligibility: Deck Registration: This meet is open to all Utah Swimming 2017 registered USA Swimming athletes. After the host team s entries are submitted CCAT, SDAT, SURF, Swim Utah, UVRAY'S, WFFM, and WVA will be added. If the meet is not full, additional entries will be accepted (see requirements in Entry Limits, Fees & Deadlines section). No swimmer will be permitted to compete unless the swimmer is a member as provided in Article 302. This meet will be run according to current USA Swimming rules and regulations. Swimmer s age on the first day of the meet determines age group for the entire competition. No deck registration will be accepted; swimmers must be registered at time of entry. Entry Limits, Fees and Deadlines: This meet will be limited to the number required to comply with the 4-hour rule. Teams will not be split. Individual swimmers may enter up to SIX (6) individual events, swimming no more than THREE (3) individual events per day. Session 1 will be limited to 32 swimmers. The 400 Freestyle will be limited to 40 swimmers. age group swimmers must have the B time and 15 and Over swimmers must have the B time in the events listed below. Qualifying times are based upon the Motivational B Times. 12 & under swimmers must have a B time to be entered in the 100 backstroke, 100 butterfly, 100 breaststroke, 200IM and 200 Free. Entries will be accepted in specific events based on the following table: Event To swim the Senior 1500 Free, swimmers must have the motivational B time in the following events: 1500 Free and/or the 500 Free (SCY) or 400 Free (LCM) per age group To swim the 9 & Over 200 Breaststroke, swimmers must have the motivational B time in the 200 Breaststroke or in the 100 Breaststroke per age group To swim the 9 & Over 400IM, swimmers must have the motivational B time in the 400IM or in the 200IM per age group To swim the 400 Free, swimmers must have the motivational B time in the 400 Free or the 200 Free per age group To swim the 9 & Over 200 Backstroke, swimmers must have the motivational B time in the 200 Backstroke or in the 100 Backstroke per age group To swim the 9 & Over 200 Butterfly, swimmers must have the motivational B time in the 200 Butterfly or the 100 Butterfly per age group Surcharge per participating swimmer: $8.00 Individual Event Entry: $6.00 All fees must accompany entries and are nonrefundable. One team check is recommended. Make checks payable to OTAC. Entries will be accepted starting Tuesday, April 11th at 7:00pm for invited teams. If the meet is not full, additional entries will be accepted beginning Friday April 14, 2017 at 7:00pm.

3 All entries must be received (in the hands of the below designated person) by 7:00 PM, Thursday, April 27th, Deck entries will be allowed as long as there is room in a heat. Individuals/Teams mailing the USI Official Entry form found on the sanctions page of the Utah Swimming website ( must make sure that each form is signed and provide time verification for each entry. Entries are not accepted without said verification. Entries are not considered confirmed until the team entry representative receives official confirmation from the meet entry contact. If the team entry representative does not receive an confirmation regarding your entries within 24 hours of the entry deadline, please contact the meet entry contact immediately. A printed copy of submitted entries will be used to resolve any entry issues. The person submitting a team s entries is the team entry representative and the received implies the official signature of the team entry representative. Said person will be the only person to make changes and will be responsible for all fines and penalties resulting from inaccurate times and unregistered swimmers. *Whether entries are submitted electronically or on paper, by the action of entering the swimmer in the meet the submitter, whether the swimmer, coach, parent or team representative, certifies that the swimmer is a registered member of USA Swimming and that all times stated in the entry are true and correct. *The submitter further assumes responsibility for any false or incorrect times, and understands that all listed entry times are subject to Utah Swimming Time Verification Procedures, and that a fine of $20.00 shall be paid to Utah Swimming, Inc. for each incorrect time, unless corrected before the entry deadline. It is understood that an automatic call before the review section shall be the result for a third entry time that cannot be verified. The submitter further agrees that a penalty of $ shall be assessed to anyone entering a swimmer in a meet sanctioned by Utah Swimming, Inc. who is not registered with USA Swimming at the time of entry, upon it being proven that the swimmer was not so registered. Entry Rules: Entries must be submitted in the course in which they were achieved. Converted times should NOT be used. All times submitted must be the swimmer's best time. Event seeding will be in the following order: conforming LCM, non-conforming SCY, non-conforming SCM Swimmers without a valid USA Swimming time in an event must be submitted as a "NT" in that event. A mandatory scratch down may apply to this meet if the time line exceeds 4 hours for 12-Under swimmers, subject to the provisions of USA Swimming Rules and Regulations F. If a scratch down is necessary, teams will be reimbursed for said scratched events.

4 Meet Format, Check-in and Scratches All events will be timed finals. Time trials will not be offered at this meet. Swimmers may enter with any USA Swimming achieved time. NTs will not be accepted except in certain events. See above table and event line up for more information. Positive check-in is required for the 1500 Freestyle. Swimmers must check in by 12:40. Swimmers who do not check in will not be allowed to swim that event. All other events will be negative check-in. All Session 1 swimmers are required to provide their own timers and counters. All 400 Freestyle swimmers must provide their own timers. The 400 free and 1500 free will be swam fastest to slowest. Warm-up: All scratches must be ed to the Meet Director by 6:00 PM the night before the session being scratched. Swimmers who do not scratch and miss their event will not be allowed to swim that event; moreover, a swimmer who does not scratch but misses two (2) events Friday, will be scratched from the Saturday session of the meet unless their coach certifies to the Meet Director (at the computer) by 8:00 PM Friday that they will attend the following day. USA Swimming and Utah Swimming safety procedures will be enforced throughout the meet. Warm-ups are subject to the following procedures: Dive Certification: Warm-up: Coaches have the responsibility of ensuring that all their swimmers are instructed in warm-up procedures and that the swimmers follow all Utah Swimming safety procedures. All swimmers will enter the pool from a sitting or 3-point position. No pushing, splashing, running or any other general horseplay. Swimmers engaging in such activities will be asked to leave the pool. All USA Swimming athletes must be under the supervision of a USA Swimming member coach during warm-up, competition, and warm-down. The Meet Director or Meet Referee may assist unaccompanied swimmers in making arrangements for such supervision, but it is the swimmer s responsibility to make such arrangements prior to the start of the meet All lanes of the pool will be circle swimming only. During the last 15 minutes of warm-up lanes 2 and 7 will be opened for diving starts. Areas of the pool designated may be used for warmdown. Warm-up and warm-down areas may be used but limited to 10 minutes prior to or following a race. Any swimmer entered in the meet must be certified by a USA Swimming member-coach as being proficient in performing a racing start or must start each race from within the water. When unaccompanied by a member-coach, it is the responsibility of the swimmer or the swimmer s legal guardian to ensure compliance with this requirement D Restrictions: Deck changes are prohibited I Use of audio or visual recording devices, including a cell phone, is not permitted in changing areas, rest rooms or locker rooms H Operation of a drone, or any other flying apparatus, is prohibited over the venue (pools, athlete/coach areas, spectator areas and open ceiling locker rooms) any time athletes, coaches, officials and/or spectators are present J Adaptive Swimming Adaptive swimming: In accordance with USA Swimming rule & Article 105.1, the Meet Referee has the authority to accommodate swimmers with disabilities in accordance with USI P&P The coach or person in charge of team entries must notify the meet referee and meet entry contact of accommodations requests at the time of entry submission.

5 Scoring: Scoring will be on a sixteenth place basis. All events except Senior events will be broken down into age & gender groups for scoring. Senior events will not be broken down by age group. Individual events will be scored as follows: 20, 17, 16, 15, 14, 13, 12, 11, 9, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 Awards: High point awards will be presented to the top 3 swimmers scoring the highest total points in their age division. Medals will be awarded 1st 3rd place in each individual event, with Ribbons being awarded to 4th through 8th place. 13 and over events will be awarded as and 15 & over. Results: Final Results will be available on the Utah Swimming web site in a (HTML) printable format and in a downloadable Team Manager (Cfile.zip) format. Results will not be mailed. Deck access: Deck access is limited to swimmers, coaches, officials & meet workers. Officials and coaches must wear their USA Swimming ID cards to be allowed on deck. Officials: Officials will be reimbursed for 1 swimmer s entrance fee per day. Please let us know who will be available to officiate so the entrance fees can be deducted. Hospitality: Timers: Parking: There will be food and drinks available at all sessions for officials and coaches. Teams with more than 10 swimmers will be asked to provide timers. Lane assignments will be sent out prior to the meet. Swimmers must provide their own timers for the 400 Freestyle and must provide their own timers and lap counters for the 1500 Freestyle. Free parking is available.
