Officials: Jennifer Nielson jenn.n@comcast.net Eligibility: This meet is open to all swimmers who are currently 2017 registered USA Swimming athletes. No swimmer will be permitted to compete unless the swimmer is a member as provided in Article 302. This meet will be run according to current USA Swimming rules and regulations. Swimmer s age on the first day of the meet determines age group for the entire competition. Deck Registration: No deck registration will be accepted; swimmers must be registered at time of entry.

2 Entry Limits, Fees and Deadlines: The meet will be limited to the number of swimmers dictated by the time line constraints. Teams submitting additional entries after their 1 st entries are received and accepted into the meet, might not get their additional entries accepted, depending on the timeline. Individual swimmers may enter up to EIGHT (8) TOTAL individual events, swimming no more than THREE (3) individual events per day. Qualifying times will be the USA Swimming Long Course National BB times. All times must have verification of time achieved for these events to be valid. Utah Time Verification procedures will be in effect. Please specify in the entries whether times entered are short course or long course times. ATTENDING MULTIPLE MEETS: **NEW USA SWIMMING RULE** o 13 and over swimmers, may enter both the Invitational, B/C Meet, but their total entries each day may not exceed six (6) events total per day (including time trials). o 12 & under swimmers, may enter the Invitational, B/C Meet & Mini-Meet, however, cannot swim in both the Invite & B/C meets IN THE SAME DAY. Any daily combination, i.e.; day 1-B/C events, day 2-Invite events, day 3-Invite (or B/C) events, is acceptable. **HOWEVER.when sending in entries, a list must be provided with the names of the 12 & under swimmers that are attending BOTH the B/C and Invite, informing HOST TEAM of the days & sessions they are attending, being careful to not send in entries that overlap. Not providing this list may result in entries not being accepted. o Time Trials are open to ALL age swimmers, but total entries each day may not exceed six (6) events total per day. If swimming in both the Invitational Meet and the B/C Meet, a surcharge needs to be paid for each meet. BONUS EVENTS: 1 bonus event (which has an entry time slower than the BB times listed) may be entered for EACH BB time achieved. NT s will NOT be accepted. Time Trials will be NOT be offered at this meet. Surcharge per participating swimmer: $8.00 Individual Events: $5.50 If entering manually (not using meet entry software), an additional $8.00 fee will be imposed. All fees MUST accompany entries, but can be turned in upon check-in the first day of the meet. All fees are non-refundable. One team check is recommended. Please make one team check payable to: AFFC/HAST. o Please mail in your team's entry fees if possible. It's one less thing to worry about at the meet. Entries will be accepted starting Monday, May 15, noon. All entries must be received on or before Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at noon. All entries will be subject to the meet entry limit--regardless if they are received prior to the entry deadline. or mail entries to: HAST@hilltopaquatics.org DaNene Adamson c/o AF Fitness Center 454 North Center American Fork, UT Entry Rules: Please submit all entries by using Hy-tek software or using the entry form available at the Utah Swimming website. Teams entering via must supply a hard copy with verification of times. Said person will be responsible for all fines and penalties resulting from inaccurate times and unregistered swimmers. Teams using the official entry form must make sure that each form is signed and time verification is included on each entry. Entries will not be accepted without time verification and one uniform entry sheet signed by the person responsible for entry submission. o An additional $8.00 per swimmer surcharge will be added to entry fees for any entries not using Hy-tek software. ALL ENTRIES (INCLUDING SINGLE ENTRIES), will not be accepted unless the Team Information is provided. If sending entries by , please include all Team information with . Incorrect entries will be returned and subject to the entry deadline upon correction of the problems. Entries are not considered confirmed until the team entry representative receives official confirmation from the meet entry contact. If the team entry representative does not receive an confirmation regarding your entries within 24 hours of the entry deadline, please contact the meet entry contact immediately. Coaches should bring a hard copy of electronic entries to the meet to address any entry issues. Whether entries are submitted electronically or on paper, by the action of entering the swimmer in the meet the submitter whether the swimmer, coach, parent or team representative, certifies that the swimmer is a registered member of USA Swimming and that all times stated in/on the entry are true and correct. The submitter further assumes responsibility for any false or incorrect times, and

3 understands that all listed entry times are subject to Utah Swimming Time Verification Procedures, and that a fine of $20.00 shall be paid to Utah Swimming, Inc. for each incorrect time, unless corrected before the entry deadline. It is understood that an automatic call before the review section shall be the result for a third entry time that cannot be verified. The submitter further agrees that a penalty of $ shall be assessed to anyone entering a swimmer in a meet sanctioned by Utah Swimming, Inc. who is not registered with USA Swimming at the time of entry, upon it being proven that the swimmer was not so registered. It is preferred that entries are submitted in the course in which they were achieved. However, converted times will be accepted. All times submitted must be the swimmer's best time. Event seeding will be in the following order: conforming LCM, non-conforming SCY, non-conforming SCM. Swimmers without a valid USA Swimming time in an event, is NOT permitted in this meet. A mandatory scratch down may apply to this meet if the time line exceeds 4 hours for 12-Under swimmers, subject to the provisions of USA Swimming Rules and Regulations F. If a scratch down is necessary, teams will be reimbursed for said scratched events. Meet Format, Check-in and Scratches Scratches are due to the Clerk of Course on deck each session, at 4:00 p.m. --BEFORE warmups begin. If a swimmer fails to scratch properly and doesn t report to the block to swim, that swimmer will not be allowed to swim that event. However, they will not be scratched from their subsequent event. Coaches, please help us run a timely meet, by bringing your scratches by the deadline. NO SHOWS: Any swimmer that has not been scratched by a coach, and is a NO-SHOW during a complete session, will be scratched from the rest of the meet. However, if said swimmer reports to Clerk of Course (in subsequent sessions), BY 4:00 p.m. -- before scratches close-- will be put back in the meet. Reporting after scratches close, the swimmer will only be put in empty lanes, in events entered. No refunds will be given. All swimmers are eligible for Senior events, but Senior events will NOT be broken out into age groups for scoring/awards. In the event of inclement weather, an unfinished event WILL NOT be scored/awarded. Warm-up: Dive Certification: This meet will run as timed finals. Events can be combined, without a lane in between and can swim two to a lane at the referee s discretion. This meet is scheduled to have a negative check-in, except for the 400 s (Free & IM). In case of inclement weather, a positive check-in may be required. Please refer to Severe Weather Plan. 400 EVENTS (Free & IM): o Will be swum fastest to slowest, alternating girls & boys of same age group, until all participants who have checked in have competed. o WILL have positive check-in 6:30-7:30 p.m. each session. Failure to check-in will result in only being allowed to swim (in these events), if there is an open lane. o In case of inclement weather, the 400's (Free and IM) may be swum 2 per lane in all heats other than the fastest heat of girls/boys. o The Swimmer s participating will need to provide own timers. An announcement will be made the day of the meet. USA Swimming and Utah Swimming safety procedures will be enforced throughout the meet. Warm-ups are subject to the following procedures: Coaches have the responsibility of ensuring that all their swimmers are instructed in warm-up procedures and that the swimmers follow all Utah Swimming safety procedures. All swimmers will enter the pool from a sitting or 3-point position. No pushing, splashing, running or any other general horseplay. Swimmers engaging in such activities will be asked to leave the pool. All USA Swimming athletes must be under the supervision of a USA Swimming member coach during warm-up, competition, and warm-down. The Meet Director or Meet Referee may assist unaccompanied swimmers in making arrangements for such supervision, but it is the swimmer s responsibility to make such arrangements prior to the start of the meet During the last 15 minutes of warm-up, lanes 3 and 6 will be opened for diving starts in the competition pool. All lanes will be open for warmup to all swimmers, with the exception that Lanes 1 & 2 restricted to accommodate 12 & under swimmers. Any swimmer entered in the meet must be certified by a USA Swimming member-coach as being proficient in performing a racing start or must start each race from within the water. When unaccompanied by a member-coach, it is the responsibility of the swimmer or the swimmer s legal guardian to ensure compliance with this requirement D Restrictions: Deck Changes are prohibited I Use of audio or visual recording devices, including a cell phone, is not permitted in changing areas, rest rooms or locker rooms H Operation of a drone, or any other flying apparatus, is prohibited over the venue (pools, athlete/coach areas, spectator areas and open ceiling locker rooms) any time athletes, coaches, officials and/or spectators are present J

4 Severe Weather Plan: In the event of severe weather, facility staff and/or the meet referee, may deem it necessary to suspend the meet and clear the deck. If this becomes necessary, all will be required to clear the deck immediately and take cover either inside the facility or automobiles. In the case of lightning, the deck will remain clear until 30 minutes after the last lightning is seen by a designated staff member. If conditions preclude the possibility of safely and effectively conducting a meet or event, the meet committee may cancel or postpone it Severe Weather TEXT GROUP Info: Should it become necessary to unexpectedly clear the deck, information & updates will be sent out via text and/or to those who have previously signed up for TEXT GROUP. We would like ALL COACHES & OFFICIALS to sign up for this text group, PRIOR TO (preferably) or on the first day of the meet, if severe weather is likely be in the forecast. To receive information during the meet, via text, after the unexpected clearing of the deck, sign up through the following website prior to the meet. An , name and number of the phone where text messages may be received are all that is required to sign up. The group is free, however standard messaging rates may apply depending on personal phone service. FYI: The name of the group is Red, White & Blue Invite 2017 o Individual Groups might be set up for the BC Meet and/or the Mini-Meet, but usually we only need it for the Invitational Meet ANYONE IS WELCOME TO JOIN THIS GROUP..PLEASE PASS ALONG TO YOUR PARENTS if Severe Weather is a possibility. Adaptive Swimming: Deck Access: Adaptive swimming: In accordance with USA Swimming rule & Article 105.1, the Meet Referee has the authority to accommodate swimmers with disabilities in accordance with USI P&P The coach or person in charge of team entries must notify the meet referee and meet entry contact of accommodations requests at the time of entry submission. Officials and coaches must wear their USA Swimming ID cards on deck. Scoring: Individual age group event scoring will be for all finished events. In the event of inclement weather an unfinished event WILL NOT be scored. All swimmers are eligible for Senior events, but Senior events will NOT be broken out into age groups for scoring, they are awarded as is. Events will be scored for high point totals in their age groups: 10 & under, 11-12, 13-14, & Senior age groups. Awards: Coaches please pick up awards at the conclusion of the meet. Individual Awards: High Point custom trophies will be awarded for 1 st through 8 th place for boys and girls in the 10 & under, & age categories. Cinemark gift certificates will be awarded for 1 st through 8 th place high point in the Senior category. Ribbons will be awarded 1st through 12th place in each event for boys & girls. Team Awards: Custom trophies for 1 st 3 rd place Participation Gift: Given to all swimmers Results: Results will be available on the HAST website: o On our home page, click on the AWAY TEAMS meet info/results for HAST meets box under the picture, for the MM backup and Meet Result files o Final Results will be available on the Utah Swimming web site in a (HTML) printable format and in a downloadable Team Manager (Cfile.zip) format. Officials: Officials helping at this meet will be given a gift card for their participation at each session of this meet. We appreciate all their help at this meet!! When submitting your team entries, please include in your Team Information, the names and phone numbers of the officials from your team that will be available to officiate, AND the sessions that they will be available. Time Trials: Hospitality: Concessions: Time trials will be hosted by HAST and offered at the end of each session of the B/C Meet at the discretion of the meet referee, time permitting. It is open to participants of the Invitational, B/C & Mini- Meets. Please refer to the Time Trials information sheet for further information. There will be a fee of $5.00 for each time trial. Keep in mind that a swimmer can only compete in five events total (including time trials) per day, as per USA Swimming rules. There will be food and drinks available at all sessions for officials and coaches. Concessions will be available during the meet.

5 Timers: Facility Use: Parking: Web Site: Teams that have 10 or more swimmers competing from their team will be responsible to provide TWO (2) timers at each session of the meet. Teams with 9 or less swimmers may be asked to provide one timer, each session, if needed. Your lane assignment will be posted the first day of the meet. Timers are expected to check in 15 minutes prior to the start of each session. Thank you for your help!! The hot tub and all other Fitness Center facilities other than the locker rooms, restrooms and reception area are off limits to everyone except paying Fitness Center participants. The Leisure Pool is ONLY open to paying Fitness Center participants with wristbands. Free parking is available in our parking lot. Please park in the lower parking lot.
