2 Monsieur, Madame, INVITATION Le Service du sport de l'université Saint-Joseph (Beyrouth, Liban) a le plaisir d'inviter votre établissement au "Festival Unisports Beyrouth 2010", le premier tournoi sportif inter-universitaire international qu'il organise du 18 au 21 mars Le "Festival Unisports Beyrouth 2010" propose des compétitions dans les disciplines suivantes: Soccer 5 Mini-football (hommes et femmes) Futsal (hommes) Basket-ball (hommes et femmes) Volley-ball (hommes et femmes) Volley-ball 3x3 Extérieur (hommes et femmes) Handball (hommes) Tennis (mixte) Tennis de table (mixte) Natation (hommes et femmes) Athlétisme (hommes et femmes) Echecs Quiz sportif Cheerleading L'Université qui comptera le plus grand nombre de points à l'issue du tournoi remportera la coupe du challenge "Beirut Unisports Festival Challenge Cup". Les compétitions se dérouleront aux endroits suivants: Centre sportif du Collège Notre-Dame de Jamhour (10 minutes du centre-ville de Beyrouth) Centre sportif du Campus des sciences et technologies de l'université Saint-Joseph (10 minutes du centre-ville de Beyrouth) En marge des compétitions, les délégations profiteront de programmes d'animation spéciaux incluant des soirées dansantes et des visites touristiques. Cet événement est l'occasion de profiter du croisement des cultures rencontré au Liban: les participants y passeront du modernisme durant les soirées branchées de Beyrouth, à la tradition autour d'un mezzé bien libanais, à l'histoire en visitant les sites archéologiques. Plus de 150 étudiants de l'université Saint-Joseph participent à l'organisation de cet événement. Les rencontres seront dirigées par des arbitres fédérés. 3 INVITATIONAL Sir, Madam, The Athletics Department at Université Saint-Joseph (Beirut, Lebanon) has the honor of inviting your University to its first international sports tournament Beirut Unisport Festival This event will take place from the 18 th to the 21 st of March The Beirut Unisports Festival 2010 offers the following sports: Soccer 5 Mini-football (male and female) Futsal (male) Basketball (male and female) Volleyball (male and female) Volleyball 3x3 Outdoor (male and female) Handball (male) Tennis (mix) Table Tennis (mix) Swimming (male and female) Track & Field (male and female) Chess Sports Quiz Cheerleading The University with the highest number of points at the end of tournament wins the Beirut Unisports Festival Challenge cup. The games will take place at the following venues: Notre-Dame of Jamhour sports club (10 min from USJ - 10 minutes from down town Beirut) Saint-Joseph University sports complex (Mansourieh Campus -10 minutes from down town Beirut and from USJ Beirut campus) Aside from competition, all delegations will benefit from special entertainment programs including parties and tourist outings. This event is an occasion to prove Lebanon's reputation as a crossroad of cultures. Your delegation will have the opportunity to visit historical sites, admire amazing landscapes, participate to Beirut's renowned nightlife, savour Lebanese traditional cuisine, etc. More than 150 students are involved in the organization of this event with the collaboration of international referees in all featured sports. From 7pm to 8pm: Technical meeting with Heads of delegations, Captains & Coaches. Starting 10pm: Gemayzeh Pubs Street Party (Free Entry/Special prices for drinks). Friday 19/03: From 6am to 9am: From 9am to 10pm: From 1pm to 4pm: From 11pm to 4am: Breakfast at the accommodation places. All day qualifying tournament in all sports. Lunch. Competition: - Men: 12 teams, qualification round by groups of 4 teams; the first team and the best second to semi-finals and finals; - Women: 8 teams, qualification round by groups of 4 teams; the first 2 teams on semi-finals and final. Duration of matches: - Qualification rounds: 2x12 min - Semi-finals: 2x15 min - Final: 2x20 min. Warm up: 5 minutes Equipment: - Balls provided by organizers - Participants should be equipped with shoes for outdoor natural grass court, indoor court and foot protection. Note: - In case of a high number of participants, qualification rounds will be organized. 30 LEGAL ASPECTS During the whole event, any member of the delegation who willingly or negligently inflicts damages to the accommodation premises or the tournament venues will be held responsible for the complete amount of the damages inflicted. Université Saint-Joseph cannot be held responsible for any sports accidents or selfinflicted accidents, thefts or losses of any kind. Please take care and look after your belongings yourself. The members of your delegation are expected to behave properly. Racist, sexist, xenophobic or insulting attitudes or words are strictly forbidden. Take care while handling food and drinks at the gym and the party afterwards. No alcoholic drinks are allowed in the accommodation premises and tournament venues. In order for everyone to enjoy the games and guarantee your chances in participating in future editions of Beirut Unisports Festival, be aware that fair play is requested from all the members of your delegation. Keep in mind that it's a game: we don't want anyone to get hurt. Please understand that we reserve the right to exclude participants who violate the above-mentioned rules, in order to ensure an adequate environment in which everybody may feel relaxed and comfortable.
